Auberge à Philadelphie, King’s Promotions presents a great night of championship boxing that will headlined by 10-round UBF Lightweight championship bout between Frankie De Alba (15-1-2, 5 KO) et Bernardo Gomez Uribe (14-3, 10 KO).
In one of the 8-round co-features, Steve Chambers Upsher (24-4-1, 6 KO) returns to the city where he cut his teeth as a professional to take on Alejandro Rodriguez (24-16-1, 14 KO) dans un Jr. Combat welters.
Chambers, who came originally to Philadelphia with former Heavyweight title challenger, “Vite” Eddie Chambers, combattu 23 times and the famed Blue Horizon in Philadelphia and will be making his first start in the City of Brotherly Love in almost 6 ans.
“I have been training hard and working on opening my new gym with (léger contender) Rod Salka,” said Upsher.
“I am on weight already and I feel good. We will be fighting at 142 livres.”
Upsher is ready to show the fans how far his abilities have grown since he turned pro in Philadelphia in 2003 quand il était juste 18 ans.
“I am happy to be coming back to Philadelphia. I want to show people how far I have come and see the improvement that I have made as a fighter.”
Despite losing his three bouts to the likes of former world champions Luis Collazo and Andre Berto as well as then-undefeated prospect Eddie Gomez, Upsher was competitive in all those bouts and grew tremendously from those experiences.
“It showed that I can compete against that level of fighter. Plus everyone of those guys was bigger than me. Je suis un naturel 140 pounder and can make 135 if the right opportunity presented itself.”
Chambers went back to his native Pittsburgh to train in neighboring city Coal Center, Pennsylvanie.
“My mind is set on winning a world title at 140 livres. After the three losses, I cant afford any missteps. People see about the losses. I know I have the ability to be a world champion and on Mai 29 that will start to show.”
On the veteran opponent, Rodriguez, Upsher said, “I know he is tough and from Mexico. I will look at a little film before the fight and go from there. I really don’t worry about what he will do. He should worry about me. This fight is redemption for me. It’s a start and then I would like to right all of the losses. But first I am looking for a dominant performance vendredi then I want to end all doubts.”

Ennis captured the NABF Super Middleweight title with a win over Victor Lares. Ennis coming off a loss to current WBC Super Middleweight champion Badou Jack on July 19, 2013.
Gbenga of Accra, Le Ghana a un record de 20-19 with all 20 wins coming via knockouts.

Philadelphie, Pennsylvanie (Mai 6, 2015)— Banner Promotions is pleased to announce that Alyson DeRenzis has taken first place in the Boxcino Bracket Challenge.
Alyson will take home the grand prize of two ringside tickets to the Boxcino finals that will take place on Mai 22 à Corona, Californie, a full roundtrip for two to the finals, complete with a hotel stay and meals for two, as well as a guest invitation to the pre-fight weigh in and post fight press conference. Two-time world champion Steve “USS” Cunningham signs with Al Haymon

Philadelphie (Avril 21, 2015)–Former two-time world cruiserweight champion and current Heavyweight contender, Steve “USS” Cunningham has signed with adviser Al Haymon.
Cunningham of Philadelphia is excited about the prospects for his future.
“I’m looking forward to working with Al, he’s a genius at what he does. I’ve been watching him for several years and seeing all that he accomplishes for his fighters but have always been on the outside looking in due to contractual obligations. It finally lined up to where we can work together and it’s going to great. I believe my best fights have yet to be seen,”a déclaré M. Cunningham
Cunningham has a record of 28-7 avec 13 KO. He won the IBF Cruiserweight championship when he traveled to Poland and defeated Krzysztof Wlodarczyk on May 26, 2007. He defended the title by stopping Marco Huck via 12th round stoppage in Bielfield, Germany on December 29, 2007. Cunningham became a two-time champion on June 5, 2010 when he stopped Troy Ross in five rounds.
Cunningham is coming off a controversial split decision defeat to Vyacheslav Glazkov on Mars 14 à Montréal.
Steve and his wife/manager Livvy will be honored ce vendredi night at the 90th annual BWAA Awards dinner as they will receive the Bill Crawford Courage Award for their perseverance while their 9-year old daughter Kennedy went through a life saving heart transplant last December.

John Thompson reflects on Boxcino semifinal win and looks forward towards the final on May 22

Newark, New Jersey (Avril 21, 2015)— Jean “Apollo Kidd” Thompson has begun preparations for his Mai 22 Boxcino final bout against Brandon Adams. (17-1, 12 KO).

Said Thompson’s promoter, Vito Mielnicki of GH3 Promotions, “I believe we are longer, been in tougher and the better boxer. Brandon is a good fighter but I think he is too green. I know he had a brief amateur career and he could be too green for John.”

Prize Promotions Tabs Russell Peltz and Brittany “Bam” Rogers for Matchmaking Duties

Danbury, CT (Avril 16, 2015)- At the beginning of April, newly licensed Connecticut boxing promoter A.J. Galante introduced his company, Promotions de prix. Galante spoke of his goal of bringing “Old School” boxing to Connecticut.

To prove he is serious about his vision, Galante has turned his matchmaking over to Hall of Fame Philadelphia promoter, Russell Peltz along with one of the sports youngest and most promising promoters and matchmakers, Bretagne “BAM”

“Russell is the definition of Old School matchmaking, he’s one of the last out there, so it was a no brainer for me to reach out to him, and I am honored that he is willing to work with me.” Galante a déclaré, “His resume speaks for itself, I am extremely confident that working together, we will put on spectacular shows” Galante was also extremely excited to work with Brittany “BAM” Rogers, who works in conjunction with Russell Peltz,

“I’m often referred to as one of the youngest boxing people on the business side of things, but BAM is actually younger than me, and has been in the sport longer than me. I have a lot of respect for her and have been learning a lot through working with her.”

Ultimately Galante said what cemented his choice on his matchmakers, was a trip to Philladelphia in October, to attend a show promoted by both Peltz and Rogers, “When you think Philly boxing, you think gritty and exciting, and you can’t think Philadelphia boxing without Russell Peltz and Brittany Rogers, and I am looking forward to bringing those types of shows and that environment here to Connecticut.” It won’t be long for Galante to fulfill his promise, as his first show Danbury Fight Night, aura lieu le30 mai au Danbury Arena, in his hometown of Danbury, CT.

Philadelphie (Mars 31, 2015)–Ce est moins de deux semaines des demi-finales de la Boxcino 2015 des poids lourds et JR. tournois de poids moyen qui auront lieu le vendredi soir, 10 avril et se tiendra au Sands Casino Resort à Bethléem, Pennsylvanie.

 

Le spectacle sera retransmis en direct sur ESPN Friday Night Fights avec les combats de demi-finale à partir de Boxcino 9 PM ET.

 

Tous les combats de demi-finales sont prévues pour huit rounds.

 

Dans la division des poids lourds, Andrey Fedosov (26-3, 21 KO) va prendre Lenroy Thomas (19-3, 8 KO). Fedosov is coming off a first round pounding of Nate Heaven while Thomas won a 7-round drawbreaker over former U.S. Olympienne Jason Estrada.
