The show was promoted by King’s Promotions.
It was a action filled fight that saw both guys be the aggressor at different stages of the fight. Brunson showed a more versatile side of him, that many boxing fans haven;t seen in years from him. One which differed from the prodigious knockout puncher that Brunson was known for when he knocked out the 1st 19 fighters he faced in the 1st round.
This Brunson used his legs to set up punches off of the jab, which he also landed several times with power behind that stick. Quarles was very game as he had his moments and landed hard shots that kept Brunson honest. Brunson landed more and harder, and he came out with the victory by scores of 78-74 і 77-75. Quarles took a card at 77-75.
Brunson of Philadelphia is now 24-6-2. Quarles of Alexandria, Вірджинія 18-4-1.

A late point deduction cost David Gonzales a split decision as he dropped the six-round bout to Juan Rodriguez in a junior welterweight bout
It was a tough grind-it-out fight until Gonzales was deducted a point in the 30 seconds for holding for holding.

Rodriguez of Haymarket, Virginia won two cards 58-55 і 57-56, while Gonzales of Philadelphia took a card 57-56.

Rodriguez is 7-6-1. Gonzales is 8-2-2.

Carlos Roasrio got off the floor but scored a 3rd round stoppage over Lance Williams in a scheduled 6-round lightweight bout.

Brandon Robinson won a 4-round unanimous decision over Lamont McLaughlin in a light heavyweight bout.

Robinson dropped McLaughlin in round three and cruised home to a victory by 40-35 карти.

Vincent Floyd stopped Blaine Donkor in round two of their scheduled 4-round welterweight bout.

Greg Cohen Promotions proudly announces the signing of heavyweight contender Joey Dawejko (17-4-3, 10 КО).

Dawejko (pronounced Da-Vayko) Філадельфія, has been a classic underachiever, до сих пір, in his professional career, but says the addition of Cohen as his promoter is just one of the changes he has made.

The 26-year-old Philadelphian has always been a talent but, admittedly, hasn’t always been in the best shape for his fights. “My manager, Mark Cipparone, changed my life,” він пояснив. “I used to take fights on a week’s notice for no money, so I never gave it 100%. Більше, I was working 12-14 hours a day as a roofer. The first day I got with him, I told him I can’t make the gym today because I’m going to be working and couldn’t get there in time. He said ‘Quit. “Everything is going to be different from now on,” Саїд Dawejko. “I’m a different person, a different fighter, different everything and I’m getting a lot better. I have a new team and I’m training out in Los Angeles. I’m living a new life and happy to finally be working with Greg Cohen. He can get me the big fights I need. It’s going to be great because I just need a chance at another big-name opponent.”

Despite his relatively young 26 роки, Dawejko has been boxing since age nine, where he debuted as a junior flyweight. The lifelong experience enables him to use his 5′ 10″ height to work move in under the punches of today’s heavyweight giants and do solid work. Ennis remained undefeated when an early body shot brought Perez to his knees in the first round of their scheduled six round contest. Perez was unable to continue, and Ennis improved to 9-0, з 8 of his wins coming by knockout.

Ярон Енніс (8-0, 7KO) will showcase his talents at welterweight in his ninth fight since his professional debut in April of last year. Ennis, who took home his second Briscoe Award earlier this year for his outstanding amateur career, delivered a phenomenal performance in his sixth round stoppage of Marucs Beckford (3-5-3, 1KO) earlier this month. The Ennis family has deep roots in the Philadelphia boxing scene. The 19-year-old is trained by his father and former professional boxer, Вишка “Bozy” Ennis, and is the younger brother of Derrick “Pooh” Ennis and Farah Ennis, who were themselves accomplished professional boxers.

Another Philadelphia favorite, найлегша вага Менні “Major Pain” Дурість (8-0, 6KO), continues his quest to remain undefeated, while setting an example for the kids in his community. The Philadelphia Police Officer splits his time between training for boxing and protecting his community and fellow Philadelphia residents. Elite talent, and incredibly hard-hitting Canadian prospect Adam Daranyi (9-0, 9KO), looks to continue his perfect run in a six round bout at super welterweight. The card is the first of three events on the books for Victory Boxing Promotions in Philadelphia in the first half of 2017. In addition to January 28th, the promotion has scheduled events on March 31st and June 17th на 2300 Арена.
