WBO #3 and IBF #7 Bantamweight Nikolai Potapov Continues Campaign to Meet and Defeat ‘The Monster’ by Taking on Tanzania’s Oscar Richard

30-year-old Potapov has bounced back nicely from his highly controversial “loss” to fellow contender Josh Greer by scoring two big victories, including his last outing, a shutout unanimous decision over Ukraine’s then 16-2 Oleksandr Hryshchuk in December 2020 в Москві. In his 11-year career, Potapov has already held the WBA Asia and WBO NABO Bantamweight Championships.


“I look forward to returning to the ring and putting on an exciting performance for my fans in Moscow and worldwide,” said Potapov, who has steadily moved back into contention for another big fight, whether a rematch against Greer or a challenge of one of the division’s champions.

In the main event and a rematch, Сергій Морозов (16-4), Казахстан, fended off American challengerJosh “The Finisher” Rettinghouse (16-5), winning a five-round unanimous decision to successfully defend his M-1 Challenge bantamweight title.

Morozov won his fifth straight and sixth fight in his last seven since his original match and loss to Rettinghouse. Morozov captured the M-1 Challenge bantamweight title last June atM-1 Challenge 102, also held in Nur-Sultan, when he stopped previously unbeatenAlexander Osetrov в четвертому раунді.

SHENZHEN, Китай (Серпня 4, 2019) – Canadian mixed-martial arts fighter Chris Kelades became the M-1 Challenge Interim flyweight champion by taking a decision from Alexander Pletenko last night at WKG and M-1 Challenge 103 in Shenzhen, Китай.

M-1 Challenge “regular” flyweight championAlexander Doskalchuk was supposed to defend his title atM-1 Challenge 103 against Kelades, проте, the champ suffered an injury that forced Doskalchuk to withdraw.

Pletenko versus Kelades was a rematch of a fight back in June, 2018, in which Pletenko won a decision atM-1 Challenge 93.  Pletenko, проте, came in overweight and he was ineligible to win the title.

This true International MMA event included 20 professional fighters from 10 different countries: Росія, Китай, США, Бразилія, Україна, Канада, Азербайджан, Швеція, Georgia and Germany.

The judges were busy all night as eight of the 10 fights went the complete distance.

ЛОС-АНДЖЕЛЕС — Bellator is proud to announce that Russian MMA great Федір Ємельяненко (38-6, 1 Північна Кароліна) has signed an exclusive multi-fight contract extension to finish his career inside the Bellator cage.



Emelianenko’s farewell tour continues in Bellator’s stacked heavyweight division on the heels of a finals run during the promotion’s eight-man Heavyweight World Grand Prix.Fighting out of Stary Oskol, Belgorod Oblast, Росія, “The Last Emperor” recently earned first-round knockouts over Соннен і Френк Світ in the tourney’s semifinals and opening round, відповідно.
