Undefeated Crowley to Face Spoiler McLellan in All-Canadian Super Welterweight Showdown

CPBC Titles on the Line February 9 at Memorial Centre in Peterborough, SUR

Samedi, Février 9, at the Memorial Centre in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, hometown favourite Cody “The Crippler” Crowley’s CCC Promotions will promote, and he will fight in the 12-round main event of, “Homecoming IV- Bad Blood,” a night of world-class professional boxing.

In the toughest test of his career, the undefeated Crowley (16-0, 9 KOs) will defend his CPBC Canadian and International Super Welterweight Championships against former Canadian champion Stuart McLellan (25-2-3, 10 KOs).

Tickets for “Homecoming IV- Bad Blood” are priced at $62.15, $39.55 et $28.25 et sont disponibles à www.memorialcentre.ca. VIP Floor Tickets are also available through CCC Promotions (text or call 705.927.3265).

25-year-old Crowley, from nearby Douro, Ontario, now resides and trains in Las Vegas with Ibn Cason, brother of former heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman. The aggressive southpaw has gained notoriety and intense popularity back home for, among countless other world champions, serving as Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s sparring partner for the Pacquiao and Conor McGregor fights.

Officially his own promoter as President of CCC Promotions, Crowley won the CPBC International Super Welterweight Title in May 2017 with a unanimous decision over Mexico’s Edgar Ortega. En Mai 2018, he added the CPBC National Championship with a unanimous decision over Canadian rival Kevin Higson.

“He’s one of the first guys I wanted to fight when I turned pro,” said Crowley of McLellan. “He calls me out after every fight. I’ve offered him purses before, but now he realizes this is his biggest opportunity for a fight in Canada. I think it’ll be a great fight. We are going to bang it out, toe-to-toe. He thinks he has experience on his side and keeps saying I’m not ready, but people have only seen about 20% of what I can do. He’s a big guy who walks around at 175 lbs or so. He hunts you down and comes forward and tries to break you down, but that’s what I do. And I do it way better.”

32-year-old McLellan is an 11-year professional and former national champion, currently riding a 13-fight winning streak dating back to 2015. A determined and active pressure fighter, McLellan has gained a reputation as a spoiler for fighting and winning in the opponent’s hometown.

McLellan maintains that Crowley isn’t ready for a fighter with his experience.

“I know he’s got money behind him and gets the best training in Vegas, but all the glitz and glamor mean nothing to me. It’s nothing new to be on the road and be a road warrior. I won the Canadian title in the guy’s hometown. He thinks he’s ready for me, but he has no idea what he’s getting into. He’s going to find out on February 9. I have too much experience. I’m a very busy fighter and people have a hard time dealing with it. The stuff he’s learning right now is already second nature to me. 21 years of experience speaks for itself.”
The exciting undercard, packed with Canadian and international talent, sera annoncée sous peu.

La nuit de combat, ouverture des portes à 6 h, avec le premier combat à partir de 7 h. The Memorial Centre is located at 151 Lansdowne Street in Peterborough. The Memorial Centre is a 4,329-seat multi-purpose arena. Built in 1956, it is now home to the Peterborough Petes of the Ontario Hockey League and the Peterborough Lakers of the Major Series Lacrosse league. Villa was most impressive in the fourth and fifth rounds when he delivered numerous sets of combinations that stunned the taller Sandoval. While Villa kept his unbeaten streak alive vendredi nuit, another, less recognizable streak ended. In his previous unanimous decision wins, Villa had won every round on every scorecard. Vendredi nuit, one judge failed to give Villa all six rounds (59-55).
That streak was bound to end sooner or later,” Villa said. “I’ll have to start another one.
Once again Ruben had a terrific outing vendredi nuit,” dit Promotions bannière président, Artie Pelullo.
Ruben continues his progression and development, and we are extremely pleased at where he is at. 2018 is going to be a big year for Ruben, as we will see him fight for some regional titles in the next 12-18 mois.”

Ruben Villa and Michael Dutchover remain undefeated with wins in Ontario, Californie

POUR DIFFUSION IMMÉDIATE
PHILADELPHIA, PENN./ORANGE, Californie. (Sept. 25, 2017) – Heralded prospects, poids plume Villa Ruben and junior lightweight Michael Néerlandais Plus remained perfect with unanimous decision victories this past Vendredi night in Ontario, Californie.
Villa Ruben (8-0, 4 KOs) de Salinas, Californie. displayed his superior talent by out boxing veteran Ernesto Guerrero (26-20, 18 KOs) of Mexico through six rounds. Villa swept all three scorecards (60-54) to continue an impressive start to his young career.

In what was perhaps his toughest test to date, Villa performed admirably and displayed his quickness by darting in and out of danger, all the while landing power shots to the head and body.

We had a game plan for Guerrero, and we executed it perfectly,” Villa said. “We gave him different looks and fought him from different angles. I don’t think he ever got comfortable.

Villa est promue par Banner Promotions et Thompson Boxing.

Elite Prospect Ruben Villa Battles Veteran Ernesto Guerrero Friday Night in Ontario, COMME

POUR DIFFUSION IMMÉDIATE
ORANGE, Californie. (Sept. 20, 2017) – Villa Ruben (7-0, 4 KOs), one of the featherweight division’s brightest young talents, takes the next step in his development by clashing with veteran Ernesto Guerrero (26-19, 18 KOs) in one of two highly anticipated match-ups le vendredi de “Nouveau sang” undercard.

The 6-round bout takes place at the Hôtel Doubletree en Ontario, Californie.
Les billets pour “Nouveau sang” sont au prix de $40, $60, & $100 and are available for purchase by calling 714-935-0900 or visiting ThompsonBoxing.com.

Villa, a southpaw fighting out of Salinas, Calif., turned professional last July and already has produced seven one-sided wins. His opponent for Friday, Mexico’s Guerrero, is no push over. Guerrero has won his last five fights, four of which ended in knockout fashion.

Guerrero’s a veteran so we’ve been extra serious in this camp,” dit Villa. “My team believes that I can take him out. My team wouldn’t set me up against an opponent that I wouldn’t be able to handle so I feel ready for this challenge.

Villa, 20, loaded up on top-level sparring to help bridge the experience gap between him and Guerrero. He spent three weeks in Indio, Californie. sparring against elite competition such as unbeaten, world title contender Joseph Diaz.

The way Diaz puts his punches together was really impressive,” dit Villa, qui est promu par bannière et Thompson Boxing. “Ce fut une grande expérience d'apprentissage pour moi. It’s not every day you get to spar with someone with that high of a skill level.

In addition to the knowledge learned from the Diaz sessions, Villa is attempting to sharpen his mental focus for his fight against Guerrero.

I need to be more intelligent in the ring,” Villa said. “I’ve been a little reckless listening to the crowd and taking unnecessary risks. We sparred against bigger guys during this training camp to help me stay disciplined.

Également sur la “Nouveau sang” undercard, advanced junior lightweight prospect Michael Néerlandais Plus (5-0, 4 KOs), who is a close friend and occasional sparring partner to Villa, combats Carlos Flores (4-5-1, 3 KOs) in bout set for 6-rounds.
