LEAR AND RICHARD TO VIE FOR FEATHERWEIGHT TITLE AT NEF 37 IN BANGOR

Bangor, Mejn (Decembar 6, 2018) - New England Borbe (NEF) will hold its next mixed-martial-arts event, “NEF 37: Sub Zero,” u petak, Februar 1, 2019 at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Mejn. Ranije danas, the promotion announced the addition of an amateur featherweight title fight to the card. Fred Lear (6-2) treba da se sastane Zac Richard (3-0) for the vacant 145-pound championship.

Fred Lear will look to replicate the success he had the last time he fought in Bangor. In August 2017, Lear captured the amateur bantamweight strap with a second-round technical knockout of Walt Shea (3-1) at the Cross Insurance Center.

Lear has had a stellar amateur career fighting out of Young’s MMA in Bangor. Prior to competing in mixed-martial-arts, Lear wrestled for John Bapst High School also based in the Queen City. He has won his last three in a row in the MMA cage. Should Lear win the featherweight title, he will become the first competitor in NEF history to hold championships in multiple weight divisions.

“This title fight is an opportunity to develop and grow,” said Lear. “An undefeated opponent with nothing but finishes, I like it—it’s polarizing. I want to turn professional. This is how I get better, that’s all I’m focused on.”

Like Lear, Zac Richard brought a wrestling background with him to the MMA cage. He won a state championship in 2015 competing for Massabesic High School in Waterboro, Maine. Richard now trains with Nostos MMA of Somersworth, New Hampshire under head coach, current UFC competitor, i bivši NEF profesionalni prvak u lakoj kategoriji, Devin Powell (9-4).  Richard has finished all three of his previous opponents in the first round.

LIGHTWEIGHT PROSPECT LOOKS TO REBOUND AGAINST PURPLE BELT

Portland, Mejn (Septembar 27, 2018) - New England Borbe (NEF) održaće svoj poslednji događaj mešovitih borilačkih veština 2018, “NEF 36: Bitka za zlato,” u subotu, Novembar 17 u Auri u Portlandu, Mejn. Ranije danas, the fight promotion announced the addition of an amateur lightweight fight to the card. Mohammad Al Kinani (4-1) Planirano je da se suoči Jamie Sprague (0-0) na borbu težine od 155 funti.

 

 

 

Mohammad Al Kinani will look to rebound from the first loss of his amateur career against Ramano Medina (5-0) last summer in New Hampshire. Prior to that time, Al Kinani had won the first four fights of his career, the most recent three emphatically by first-round knockout. He is a perfect 2-0 u NEF kavezu. Al Kinani is a member of Evolution Athletix, a team housed in a brand new, state-of-the-art training facility opened earlier this year just off Route 1 in Saco, Mejn.

 

 

 

“Jamie is definitely dangerous, but I always go in there knowing my opponent is dangerous,” Al Kinani stated. “I’d like to think I am too. More than ever. I’m feeling extremely sharp and I know I can bring in all the heat to that cage. Sprague has been training for a long time under one of the best schools in the area and probably thinks I’m an easy win, but I have been training and putting in more work than ever with the best of the best to come back from a first recent loss. He will understand the pressure of being locked up in there with me. I’m ready to shock everyone November 17th.”

 

 

 

Despite his lack of cage competition experience, Jamie Sprague is no newcomer to the combat sports world. As Al Kinani indicated, Sprague has trained for some time in the martial arts. He holds a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and is a member of Nostos MMA based in Somersworth, New Hampshire under current UFC competitor, and former NEF Pro Lightweight Champion, Devin Powell (9-3).

 

 

 

“Mo’s a tough guy,” said Sprague, “no doubt about that. But with all due respect, I want to make a statement. I want his neck.”

Ranije danas, promocija borbe najavila je dodavanje profesionalne borbe za titulu u pero kategoriji. Aaron “Nemilosrdan” Lacey (6-2) je planirano da se sastane sa Billom Jonesom (13-10) za upražnjeno NEF profesionalno prvenstvo u poluteškoj kategoriji.

Portland, Mejn (Septembar 12, 2018) - New England Borbe (NEF) održaće svoj poslednji događaj mešovitih borilačkih veština 2018, “NEF 36: Bitka za zlato,” u subotu, Novembar 17 u Auri u Portlandu, Mejn. Ranije danas, promocija borbe najavila je dodavanje amaterske ženske borbe u mušoj kategoriji. B.J. Garceau (1-0) treba da se suoči sa Chelsea Tucker (0-3) na borbu težine od 125 funti.

B.J. Garceau je dospela na naslovnice u nacionalnim novinama ranije ove godine dok se pripremala za svoj debi u kavezu sa NEF-om. Dijagnostikovan juvenilni dijabetes tipa 1 u 1993, Garceau je postao inspiracija onima unutar dijabetičke zajednice koji žele prakticirati borilačke vještine. NEF SELLS OUT BANGOR FOR THIRD STRAIGHT YEAR WITH WILD MMA CARD

Bangor, Mejn (Septembar 9, 2018) - New England Borbe (NEF) held its latest mixed-martial-arts event, “NEF 35: Wicked Season,” on Saturday night at Cross Insurance Center in Bangor. It was the third time in as many years that the fight promotion visited the Queen City and sold out the venue.

The main event featured a bout hailed as the “Battle of Bangor” as popular locals Aaron “Nemilosrdan” Lacey (6-2) i Jon Lemke (7-9) squared off. Lacey submitted Lemke in the first round with a rear-naked choke.

Hometown omiljena “The” Ryan Sanders (17-9) took on Mando “Big Chino” Montoya (10-7) u co-main event. Na 4:10 znak u prvom krugu, Sanders, the reigning NEF Professional Lightweight Champion, forced Montoya to tap to a guillotine choke.

It was a successful night for the Choi Institute of Portland, Maine as Caleb Hall (2-0) i Ernesto Ornelas (4-7) were both victorious via stoppages in their respective bouts.

In the amateur headliner, Maine Amateur Wrestling Hall of Famer, 54-godina Pat Kelly (4-1) put his lightweight title on the line against Massachusetts’ Ed Forlenza (3-2) in what Kelly vowed would be his final MMA fight. Forlenza was able to score a technical knockout via referee stoppage due to strikes to capture the title. Nakon borbe, Kelly gave an impassioned speech, thanking his coaches at Young’s MMA in Bangor as the capacity crowd gave him a standing ovation.

Nostos MMA also shined on the amateur portion of the card. The Somersworth, New Hampshire-based team went 2-0 kao Zac Richard (2-0) i Andrew Brown (1-0) picked up wins under the guidance of Nostos head coach, i trenutni UFC borac, Devin Powell.

NEF announced its return to Portland, scheduled to take place at Aura on Saturday, Novembar 17. The event is titled “NEF 36: Battle for the Gold.” It will be the final NEF event of 2018.

FINISHES GALORE HIGHLIGHT NEF 34 FIGHT NIGHT IN PORTLAND; NEF ANNOUNCES RETURN TO BANGOR

Portland, Mejn (Jun 17, 2018) - New England Borbe (NEF) made its return to Portland, Maine on Saturday night with the fight promotion’s latest mixed-martial-arts event, “NEF 34: Home of the Brave.” A jam-packed house of fight fans took in the action as NEF fighters delivered the non-stop excitement from bell to bell in what many are calling one of the best events the company has ever produced.

 

 

 

On a card featuring a total of 18 tuče, sudije’ scorecards were not needed until the thirteenth bout of the evening. Prior to that time, the early card featured a plethora of exciting finishes including a pair of D’Arce Chokes courtesy of Angelo Rizzitello (2-1) and Henry Clark (4-4) and highlight-reel knockouts by Cody Rolling (5-5) and Zac Lawrence (1-0). Thirteen of the evening’s fights ended in the first round.

 

 

 

Kam Arnold (4-0) and Killian Murphy (1-1) waged an absolute war for the vacant amateur bantamweight title in what made history as the first amateur fight in Maine to ever go beyond the old three-round limit. Arnold claimed the title with a fourth-round knockout in a bout that will certainly be a contender for “Fight of the Year” this December when voting begins.

 

 

 

Not to be outdone, Carlton Charles (2-2) and Duncan “The Highlander” Kovač (3-2) took their amateur welterweight title fight into the fourth round as well. Smith took the gold home after putting Charles out with a rear-naked choke.

 

 

 

On the professional side of the card, Young’s MMA teammates “The” Ryan Sanders (16-9) and Aaron “Nemilosrdan” Lacey (5-2) were in action. Sanders submitted Vince McGuiness (5-8) with just seconds remaining in the first round while Lacey lost a unanimous decision to Da’Mon Blackshear (5-1) u glavni događaj.

 

 

 

NEF announced that its next MMA event, “NEF 35: Wicked Season,” would originate from the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine on September 8, 2018. CRESPO OUT, MURPHY IN AGAINST ARNOLD IN NEF TITLE FIGHT

Portland, Mejn (Maj 31, 2018) – Earlier this week, New England Borbe (NEF) officials were informed that Mike Crespo had been injured during his fight camp and would be unable to compete at “NEF 34: Home of the Brave” na Jun 16 in Portland. Crespo had originally been scheduled to face Kam Arnold (3-0) for the vacant NEF MMA Amateur Bantamweight Championship. Killian Murphy (1-0) has stepped up to replace Crespo and take on Arnold at Aura for the 135-pound title in a scheduled five-round affair.

Murphy made his debut at “NEF 33” last month in Portland with an impressive victory over Krishna Scott (0-1) preko prvom krugu tehničkih knockout. He is no stranger to the winner’s circle. Murphy is a former Maine state wrestling champion, having captured a class-A title for Marshwood High School in Elliott in 2015. Perhaps no other member of the NEF roster has had the run in the last twelve months that Kam Arnold has had. He has cut through three opponents in the first round like a hot knife through butter including an eleven-second knockout of veteran David Thompson last month at “NEF 33.” Arnold is a member of Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu of Lewiston, Mejn.

"Prvo, I just want to say ‘thank you’ to Killian for accepting this fight, and also to Matt Peterson for finding me another opponent,” said Arnold when reached for comment. “Killian’s an up-and-coming, exciting fighter – and I’m excited to clash with him. I know he’s going to come ready and he’s going to be looking to shake up this division and make a statement. I’m going to continue to work hard, make an adjustment to the strategy and go balls-to-the-wall from there. This will be a great fight – and I will be NEF’s next 135-pound champ.”

NEF RELEASES FIGHT CARD FOR RETURN TO PORTLAND ON JUNE 16

Portland, Mejn (Maj 18, 2018) –Earlier today, New England Borbe (NEF) released the official card for its upcoming return to Aura in Portland, Mejn. The mixed-martial-arts event, pod nazivom “NEF 34: Home of the Brave,” is scheduled to take place on Saturday night, Jun 16, 2018 with a bell-time of 7:00 pm EDT.

 

 

 

The main event will feature two rising East Coast prospects when Bangor, Maine’s own Aaron “Nemilosrdan” Lacey (5-1) meets Fayetteville, North Carolina’s Da’Mon “The Diamond” Blackshear (4-1) u pero borbe. Lacey is coming off a dominant win over veteran Josh Parker (6-9) ranije ove godine, while Blackshear looks to rebound from the first loss of his professional career last August.

 

 

 

Lacey’s Young’s MMA teammate “The” Ryan Sanders (15-9) will see action in the co-main event against Tampa, Florida’s Vince McGuiness (5-7). Sanders is the reigning NEF MMA Pro Lightweight Champion. The fight with McGuiness will be a non-title affair.

 

 

 

Rounding out the professional portion of the card will be yet another Young’s MMA competitor in the form of Carl Langston (0-1) who is scheduled to rematch The Choi Institute’s Ernesto Ornelas (3-7) in a battle of Portland fan-favorites. Langston and Ornelas initially met last month at “NEF 33” with Ornelas coming out on top via unanimous decision. Langston immediately requested a rematch blaming his performance on nerves surrounding his pro debut. Ornelas obliged and has promised to finish Langston this time out, leaving no room for question.

 

 

 

The amateur portion of the card will be headlined by a pair of title fights. In the second title fight, Carlton Charles (2-1) of the Charles Fighting Family and Berserkers MMA meets Duncan “The Highlander” Kovač (2-2) of Evolution Athletix to crown a new NEF MMA Amateur Welterweight Champion. Both fights are scheduled for five three-minute rounds – a first in the NEF amateur division as all previous title fights had been scheduled for three three-minute rounds.

 

 

 

Three women’s bouts will take place on the amateur card. Brianne Genschel (0-1) of First Class MMA and the Foundry will take on Tampa, Florida’s Amanda Gallo (1-1) while Genschel’s First Class MMA teammate Chelsea Tucker (0-2) faces the debuting Glory Watson (0-0) mladih je MMA, i Carol Linn Powell (0-1) ispunjava Sarah Matulis (1-0) of the Outlet. Portland, Mejn (Maj 1, 2018) - New England Borbe (NEF) returns to Aura in Portland, Maine with its next mixed-martial-arts event, “NEF 34: Home of the Brave,” u subotu noć, Jun 16, 2018. Ranije danas, the fight promotion announced the addition of an amateur bantamweight championship bout to the card. The bout between Arnold and Crespo will make history as the first five-round amateur title fight in both NEF and Maine history. All previous amateur championship fights had been scheduled for three rounds.

Undefeated Kam Arnold has been on a hot streak since his debut in the summer of 2017. The product of Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ) u Lewiston, Maine has cut through all three of his previous opponents with little resistance. None have made it past the two-minute mark of the first round with Arnold. It took him a mere 11-seconds to knock out David Thompson with a single punch at “NEF 33” last month in Portland. Arnold considers the opportunity to fight for the bantamweight title the highlight of his fight career thus far.

“I’m ecstatic for the opportunity to bring Lewiston back a title,” said Arnold. “Everything I’ve gone through in my life has led me to this exact moment. Uvek sam govorio, even way back when I was a young lad, that I’m going to be champion one day. To be living the vision that I’ve had since being a small boy is just absolutely mind blowing. I’m great at what I do, and I will continue to prove everyone wrong – all the naysayers and doubters. Michael Crespo, “Crispy” to his fans and teammates, is a six-fight veteran of the NEF cage. A perpetual contender for the bantamweight title over the years, Crespo’s biggest win came at “NEF 18” when he upset Caleb Costello (3-4) via jednoglasnom odlukom. The bout will be a rematch of their fight in Portland earlier this month. Ornelas and Langston initially met at “NEF 33” aprila 14 at Aura. Ornelas, a member of Portland’s The Choi Institute, put on an impressive showing for the duration of three rounds on his way to a unanimous decision win on the judges’ scorecards. The victory was Ornelas’ first in the NEF cage with four previous attempts since the promotion’s inception in February 2012. (He holds a record of 1-0 as a professional in the NEF boxing ring as well.) Not only is Ornelas predicting another win over Langston on Jun 16 – he promises to finish his foe this time.

“Carl said his nerves got the better of him that night. Nemoj, they didn’t – Ja got the better of him, once I stepped into that cage and took the center and looked him in the eye,” said Ornelas imperatively. “I saw fear. A true fighter has no fear. Jun 16, he will see what a true fighter looks like, as he looks up at me from the flat of his back.”

The “NEF 33” bout with Ornelas was Langston’s pro debut after a lengthy amateur career that spanned 16 fights and more than four years. Many of his friends and family had turned out for the event in his hometown of Portland. And while Langston did force Ornelas to the scorecards, the Young’s MMA member was disappointed in his own performance, blaming the loss on nerves. He immediately asked NEF matchmakers for a rematch against Ornelas on the Jun 16 Portland card.

“I couldn’t be more excited about getting this rematch,” declared Langston. “I asked for this rematch the same night I lost to Ernie. I just wasn’t me that night. It was my first pro fight and my nerves got to me. I just didn’t feel like myself in there. To se, rekao je, I still took him to a decision being that he had nine pro fights and I was making my pro debut. He still doesn’t bring the skill set and talent that I bring to the cage. This was a big mistake for Ernie to accept this rematch. He got lucky the first time, and I promise I will finish him this time.
