Я с гордостью официально объявляю о своем шестом официальном воссоединении любительского бокса, которое состоится в марте. 18 в Monique’s Lounge в Гарлеме, Нью-Йорк. Я ожидаю, безусловно, самого большого результата из всех предыдущих. 5 воссоединения, которые дважды проводились на Rival Boxing в Лас-Вегасе, один раз в Jimmy’s Corner на Манхэттене и по одному разу в казино Mohegan Sun и Foxwoods в Коннектикуте..

This will be my 4th official amateur boxers reunion, with the first three having taken place in Las Vegas (Декабрь 2014), Нью-Йорк (Июнь 2015) and Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut (Июль 2015).
Boxers who have attended previous reunions include the likes of four-time world champion Roy Jones Jr., three-time world champions Mike “Тело Похититель” McCallum and Iran “The Blade” Barkley, WBO heavyweight champion Lamon Brewster, former WBC light heavyweight champion Montell “лед” Griffin, 1988 U.S. Olympic coach Kenny Adams.
I’ve had this idea to bring my former amateur peers together for many years and in December of 2014 at the Rival Boxing Store in Las Vegas I finally had my first amateur boxers reunion and it was a tremendous success. Since then I’ve had two more (at Jimmy’s -Glenn- Corner on W. 44й Санкт-. in NYC and at Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut)successful gatherings that have seen everyone from local amateurs, regional Golden Gloves champions, National AAU champions, чемпионы мира, Olympians and every other possible level of amateur boxer.
I had originally planned to have boxers from my Olympic trials class (1988)gather for a reunion but changed it to any era or level. On that end we’ve had boxers ranging from 1976 A.A.U. National champion Bret Summers from Washington State and 1976 Jamaican Olympian Mike McCallum all the way up to 2004 U.S. Олимпийский Джейсон Эстрада.
Basically it’s a chance for us to get together, reminisce, tell stories, see old friends, meet people we’ve never met before. Maybe the best example of what my reunions entail came at the 2015 event at Foxwoods when I had Hartford’s Luis Ortiz and Lawrence Clay-Bey meet for the very first time since they boxed each other as young kids at Marc Anthony’s in Hartford way back in 1977!

Denis Lebedev fight to happen this summer

Evaluate your performance against Junior Wright in your last fight?
Б.: “I am 100-percent a completely different fighter than in my previous fight against B.J. Цветы. Но, at the beginning of this fight, I had a little bit of ring rust. The inactivity is really hard for me. I would like to be busier and fight more often. I already started training and doing light exercises, right after my fight on May 21st. In my next fight, I will be even more different fighter against Lebedev.”
How does it feel to be the only fighter from your country to be 2-division world champion?
Б.: “I don’t really think about those things. My main goal is to unify all of the titles and fight all the best fighters.”
You’ve always wanted to unify as a way of determining who the best or real champ is. В 20-11, you almost fought a unification as WBA light heavyweight but then-WBO champion Juergen Braehmer who suddenly went home a few days before the scheduled unification fight. How does it feel to know that you will be fighting Lebedev for WBA super and IBF cruiserweight titles в 120 дней с мая 21?
Б.: “This has always been my goal – to unify – and I’m motivated even more knowing that I am going to fight for those two titles very soon.”
Do you think a deal will be made between your manager, Al Haymon and Lebedev’s promoter, Andrei Ryabinsky, or will it go to purse bid?
Б.: “It doesn’t concern me, whether it goes to a purse bid, or where the location is. Однако, I hope the parties can get the best deal worked out for everyone involved.”
