Lectura, Pensilvania (Diciembre 27, 2017) – Promociones del Rey se complace en anunciar la firma del ex retador mundial José “Chelo” González a un contrato promocional.
González, 34 de Toa Baja, Puerto Rico cuenta con un registro de 24-2 con 19 nocauts.
González ganó su primer 19 combates con victorias sobre Osenohan Vázquez (1-0), Eric Cruz (5-1-2), Hector Marengo (5-0-4) & Edgardo Soto (12-2). 
En Junio 3, 2011, González ganó el título Latino de la OMB peso ligero con un paro ronda el sexto sobre Gerardo Cuevas.
González hizo cinco defensas exitosas antes de desafiar la OMB peso ligero campeón mundial Ricky Burns en mayo 11, 2013.
González estaba dominando ese combate y bien en su camino a convertirse en un campeón del mundo antes de lesionarse la muñeca y se retiró de la pelea después de la 10ª ronda.
González se recuperó por volver a ganar el título Latino de la OMB peso ligero y defenderla con un paro quinta ronda sobre Marvin Quintero (26-5).
González estará buscando para volver después de un año de descanso de dos horas y media.
González afirmó: “I am very happy with this new chapter in my career. I am returning to the ring with plenty of excitement and with the same dedication I have always had. I thank Marshall and King’s Promotions for the opportunity and I have no doubt that together we will return to a world title.”

Santa Fe Springs, TAL COMO–NABA Lightweight champion Petr Petrov (36-4-2, 17 Nocáuts) has been training hard for his big showdown with NABF Lightweight champion Marvin Quintero (28-6, 24 Nocáuts) that will take place on Viernes, Mayo 6 en La Toshiba Plaza, adjacent to the state-of-the-art T-Mobile Arena. The Toshiba Plaza es located on the Las Vegas Strip between New York-New York and Monte Carlo.
Petrov took time out from his busy training schedule at the Santa Springs Boxing Club in Sante Fe, California to provide the following comments as he gets ready for this big opportunity:
“Campamento va muy bien. We have had eight great weeks sparring. This is the best training camp I have had in all of my camps. 
On Quintero:
“He is a good boxer. He is a southpaw who has a lot of experience. He is a slick fighter, but I am experienced as well, and I am ready for anything.”
“This will get us the NABF title and get me ranked in the WBC, so this is the next step to getting closer to a world title.”
“It’s a big event weekend. We know there there will be a lot of media and fight fans there. I am a fan friendly fighter, and it comes down to putting on a great show in front of all the boxing people in attendance.”
 “Yo soy 100% ready to get the victory on 6 de mayo. We have to win this fight, and we will be ready for anything else that comes after.” Banner Promotions President, Arthur Pelullo stated “We are very much looking forward to Petr having a great performance on 6 de mayo and that will catapult him to the big opportunity that he has worked very hard to get.”
Con 36 victories under his belt, lightweight contender Petr “Zar” Petrov holds an impressive boxing resume, included winning ESPN’s 2014 Boxcino Lightweight tournament. Petrov was last seen in April 2015 taking on former world champion Gamaliel “Platano” Diaz where he successfully defended his NABO and NABA Lightweight Titles via unanimous decision. As the current NABA Lightweight Title holder, Petrov will be looking to add another notable title to his name when he faces Quintero on 6 de mayo.
