Philadelphia, PA (Oktobra 2, 2018) – This Saturday night, undefeated lightweight prospect Jeremy Cuevas is looking to make a statement by knocking out veteran Jerome Rodriguez in the six-round co-feature bout at the 2300 Arena any Philadelphia.

Cuevas of Philadelphia is on the cusp of higher profile fights, but he 1st must get by the tough southpaw, Rodriguez from Allentown, PA.

Cuevas is now starting to get recognized on some prospect lists, and those acclaims are very motivating to the 22 taona.

“2017 was a memorable year for our local boxing scene, and it will be great to bring everyone together to celebrate it,” said John DiSanto, founder of the Briscoe Awards. “Our event is really just a party – food, drinks, and a coming together of everyone who loves this sport. It’s always great to see the mix of people that come to the Briscoe Awards. The highlight however, is throwing the spotlight on the fighters who worked so hard to entertain all of us fans. It’s always a good day and a fun time.”

Philadelphia – After ten years of celebrating the biggest and best achievements of the Philadelphia-area boxing scene, the Briscoe Awards will change the timing of their annual event, from October to March.
“For a few years now, I’ve considered moving the awards up to the first part of the year,” said John DiSanto, founder of the Briscoe Awards. “The original Fall time slot caused a lot of confusion, because by the time we gave out the awards, the fights were old news. Moving to March will allow us to give out the awards shortly after the fight year ends. I’m a little nervous about making a change, but in the long run, the move will only make the Briscoe Awards better.”
The Briscoe Awards honor the key fights and fighters of the Philly area every year. A total of eleven awards will be give out IZAO SUNDAY MARCH 25TH AT 1 PM ET, which includes prizes for the “Philly Ady ny Taona”, ny “Philly Ady ny Taona”, ny “Knockout ny Taona”, “Amateur of the Year”, “Rookie ny Taona”, “Afaka ny Taona”, “Performance of the Year”, “Photo of the Year”, ary kokoa.
The fighters being honored this year include Tyrone Brunson, Jaron Ennis, Kermit Cintron, Dylan Price, Avery fody?, Marcel Rivers, Raymond Ford, Jerome Conquest, and others.

MARCEL RIVERS TO BE HONORED FOR BIGGEST KO OF THE YEAR

Philadelphia – Boxing fans certainly love a knockout, ary 2017 was full of them in Philly. Of the many big KOs last year, the best of them all was by Marcel Rivers, amin'ny 2300 Arena last September. Rivers, in his third professional fight, scored a picture-perfect-one punch-knockout of Osnel Charles in the fourth round. For this perfect punch, Rivers will receive a Briscoe Award for the “2017 Knockout ny Taona”, amin'ny Martsa 25, 2018, amin'ny11th Annual Briscoe Awards.
“It is exactly why boxing fans come out to the fights,” said John DiSanto, founder of the Briscoe Awards. “Big knockouts always steal the show, and Marcel’s was the biggest.”
The Briscoe Awards commemorate the best accomplishments of the Philly-area boxing scene. A total of eleven prizes will be given out in a variety of categories, ao anatin'izany ny “Philly Fighter of the Year”, “Philly Ady ny Taona”, “Amateur of the Year”, “Rookie ny Taona”, “Afaka ny Taona”, and others.
Advance tickets for the Martsa 25, 2018 Briscoe Awards cost $20 and are currently available for sale at BriscoeAwards.com, na amin'ny fiantsoana 609-377-6413. Tickets will not be sold at the door. The $20 admission includes food, draft beer, wine, soft drinks, and a souvenir program and ticket.
