MIAMI, OKLAHOMA – Juli 18, 2017 – Nobody told Rolando Chinea he was supposed to the “B-side,” when he upset Ladarius Miller, O'Shanique Foster, Mel Crossty, of op zaterdag, when he handed Kenneth Sims Jr. (12-1, 4KO) his first loss.

The Super Lightweight prospect, who hails from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, won a majority decision over Sims in the co-feature of Zaterdag night’s edition of SHOBOX: The New Generation. Sims came out strong early in the fight, but Chinea was relentless, breaking down his opponent over eight rounds. Chinea dominated the last two rounds, and punch stats indicated that he landed more punches overall throughout the bout.

It was Chinea’s second Showtime outing, and Victory Boxing Promoter Chris Middendorf hopes to see him back on the network soon. “He’s shown that he’s willing to step up and face the best. He doesn’t shy away from an undefeated fighter, and he’s ready to get back in the ring on Showtime, and continue to show boxing fans what a real throw-back fighter looks like,” zei Middendorf.

Chinea, for his part, rated the performance a ‘B.’ “I am back in the gym and ready to improve. Every fight I learn something about myself and I am ready to put that experience to work for me.”

LAS VEGAS (April 29, 2017) – Newly crowned WBA Interim Featherweight Champion Claudio Marrero (22-1, 16 KO) shocked previously unbeaten Carlos Zambrano (26-1, 12 KO) with a first round knockout in the main event of Premier Boxing Champions op FS1 en FOX Deportes, Zaterdag night from Sam’s Town Live in Las Vegas.
“There’s so many emotions going through my head right now, that I still can’t wrap how it feels to be a champion now,” zei Marrero. “I won’t let it distract me, because I’ll fight whoever is the best in my weight class. I knew what kind of fighter I was going up against and I knew what had to be done. I was hungry”
The fight ended abruptly as Marrero of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic threw a rock solid straight left hand that sent Lima, Peru’s Zambrano to the canvas, rendering him unable to stand and referee Vic Drakulich waved off the bout at 1:30 of the one and only round. Marrero extended a seven-fight win streak.
“After being inactive for a year, of course my timing was a little off I am not happy at all with my performance,” said Zambrano. “This is a fight that was long awaited and I know Marrero has been eyeing me for a while, so it’s just unfortunate the way things ended.
“I need to come back to the states and find sparring partners who can really help get me to the level that I want to be,” continued Zambrano. “For my record to be beaten at this point, its just really disappointing I have no other words to describe it.”
The co-main event of the FS1 and FOX Deportes telecast ended in a sixth round TKO by hungry middleweight Nathaniel Gallimore (18-1-1, 15 KO) of Kingston, Jamaica over Jeison Rosario (12-1, 9 KO) van Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.Both fighters came out swinging in the first round with Rosario taking it on all three judge’s scorecards. Rozenkrans, who had never gone past the fourth round started to slow down in the fifth as Gallimore took over.
“I came into the fight confident then at some point something just happened, my body started to slow down,” said Rosario. “I got a little tired and I started to fight a little sloppy. My plan is to go back and begin working on my jab consistently, that was my weakness during throughout the fight.”
Gallimore came out of the corner in the sixth round determined to end the fight and succeeded. He dropped Rosario, but the Dominican rose to his feet, only to be dropped by a hard upper cut. In the main event of the FS2 and FOX Deportes telecast, super lightweight prospect Ladarius Miller (13-1, 4 KO) put on an impressive performance before stopping Jezus Gutiérrez (14-2-1, 4 KO) in the eighth and final round of their matchup.
“I am extremely happy with my performance,” Said Miller. “This is the best Ladarius Miller I have shown. I was familiar with him as a fighter so I knew what I had to do in the ring. I thought I had him in the first round with the uppercut, but he was in a lot better shape than I thought. He took the punches but in the end I knew I would end up on top with the win. I’m just ready to get back in the ring and look ahead at my next challenge.”
Miller out boxed Gutierrez with a combination of movement and lead left hands to take control of the first portion of the fight. Gutierrez attempted to close the distance between him and Miller, but was unable to muster up enough offense to slow down his opponent.
“Het was een geweldig gevecht, I think we gave the fans what they wanted to see,” zei Gutiérrez. “I have nothing but respect for Ladarius, he came out vanavond and showed what he was made of. I kept the pressure on and I thought that would be enough to get him.”
Several back and forth flurries defined the final two rounds of the fight before Miller was eventually able to use a big right hand to floor Gutierrez and force referee Russell Mora to halt the fight at 2:34 into the eighth round.
The opening bout on FS2 and FOX Deportes saw former world champion Layla McCarter(39-13-5, 10 KO) dominate and eventually stop Szilvia Szabados (15-10, 6 KO) in the seventh-round of their welterweight bout.
“I saw early in the fight an opportunity, to go for the body and that’s what I did,” said McCarter. “She took a lot of damage and was a tough opponent. I felt I could have brought it a lot harder, I had such a great training camp I wish I just would have delivered the Layla i know I can bring.”
Szabados came out aggressive from the start, but the veteran contender McCarter picked her off with power punches throughout the early rounds before Szabados began to wear down and become frustrated.
“She was a great opponent for me, there are definitely a lot more things that I need to go back home and work on,” said Szabados. “Globaal, she came to win and she showed it. I brought a lot of toughness, but in the end she came out on top.”
Referee Tony Weeks deducted a point from Szabados for blows to the back of the head early in round seven before a final flurry from McCarter forced the referee to stop the fight 56 seconden in de ronde.

One of the most accomplished female fighters in the sport, McCarter has fought at the highest level since turning pro in 1998. She has won titles at featherweight, lichtgewicht, super lightweight and super welterweight. In 2008 she became the WBA Lightweight World Champion by defeating Jelena Mrdjenovich in Canada and successfully defended it against Fujin Raika in 2009. McCarter has won 15 fights in a row entering April 29 including a victory over Noni Tenge that earned her the vacant WBA Super Welterweight Championship.
The 26-year-old Szabados turned pro in 2014 and won her first five fights. Fighting out of Hungary, she challenged Nikki Adler for a 168-pound world title in 2015. She would go on to win her next four fights as she built her way up the ladder. Szabados has a pair of stoppage wins in 2017 sandwiched around a challenge of two-time Olympic gold medalist Claressa Shields in March.

Ladarius Miller Knocks out Ronald Rivas in a second round TKO

Las Vegas (Oktober 8) – The Uzbekistan-born Super Middleweight Ronald Gavril (17-1, 13 KO) verslagen Christopher Brooker (11-2, 5 KO) by way of TKO from Sam’s Town Live inside of Sam’s Town Hotel & Gambling Hall in Las Vegas, NV in the main event of Mayweather Promotions Sin City Showdown, the first installment of their monthly series of boxing at Sam’s Town Live.
From the second the bell rang it was non-stop action in the ring as Gavril and Brooker fought for the vacant NABF Super Middleweight title. Both fighters rolled out combination punches and uppercuts early in the rounds. Brooker fired off shots and Gavril was countering, neither fighter would let up. In de 5
th ronde, Brooker landed a clean uppercut that had Gavril on the canvas and shook up. Gavril regrouped and returned with blows to Brooker, leading in a war of blood exchange.
It was a slugfest between these Super Middleweight fighters, which ultimately led to Gavril knocking Brooker down twice in the 10th round, defeating him and claiming the vacant NABF title.
“The guy was very very tough, but I came back to win,” said Gavril. “I trained extremely hard with my team and they prepared my body for this fight. My endurance really got me through this fight. I have to say the knockdown in the 5th round got me to refocus and get my mental toughness in gear.”
“He wouldn’t let up, but that didn’t stop me from getting the title. I only had one goal coming into this fight, and I accomplished it, I am the new champion.”
“I was extremely upset with the decision,” said Brooker. “I go hard in every fight and this fight was no different. The judges had the scores as a draw so I feel like I was going to get robbed any way. There wasn’t a three knockdown rule, so I just didn’t understand why the judges called it so pre-maturely. “The judges should have let me continue fighting, this was a title fight, not a regular match. I definitely thought the knockdown in the fifth round put me ahead, but I guess I was wrong.
“I am looking to fight anyone, whoever and whenever the next opportunity is for me to fight, Ik zal het nemen. If possible, I want the re-match against Gavril.”
The co-main event featured a pair of welterweight prospects that produced an exciting matchup, ultimately leading to second round TKO after only 55 seconds by Memphis-born Ladarius Miller (12-1, 3 KO) tegen Ronald Rivas (5-5-1 3 KO).
“I am so happy with my performance,” Said Miller. “I am getting better and better with each fight, and this fight proved that my hard work and consistency in the gym and with my team is working.”
“Simpel gezegd, I just wasn’t prepared like I should have been for this fight. He came out and proved to want it more than I did. I came in ready, trying to get comfortable, before I could adjust he came in with the punch.”
Sanjarbek “War” Rakhmanov (6-0, 3 KO) kept his record in tact in a 6-round action-packed bout against then-undefeated Jonathan Dinong (5-1, 4 KO). Both fighters kept the pressure on, but Rakhmanov proved to be the better fighter going the distance and getting the win.
Samuel Santana (8-11-3, 2 KO) won by way of disqualification in a Super Lightweight showdown against José Vargas (6-1, 4 KO), giving the young prospect his first loss. Mayweather Promotions opening bouts resulted in wins by both prospects as, Xavier Martinez (5-0 2 KO) verslagen Wilfredo Garriga (3-4-1 2 KO) by unanimous decision in a six-round Super Featherweight match-up and Daniel Gonzalez (2-0) representing Las Vegas, NV stopped Sean Acosta (0-3-1) after four rounds of action winning by majority decision.
