“The Homecoming” to be headlined by phenom Marco “El Tiburón” Romero on Sept. 6 in Olathe, Kansas

KANSAS CITY, Mei. (Bulan Juli 29, 2025) - Nineteen-year-old boxing phenom Marco “El Tiburón” Romero (9-0, 8 Biaya) will make his hometown debut as a professional on September 6, headlining “The Homecoming” Pro-Am card, presented by Turner Boxing Academy, at Embassy Suites Hotel & Conference Center in Olathe, Kansas.“The Homecoming” is a fundraiser for the Turner Boxing Academy, owned and operated by boxing legend John Brown, in Kansas City, Kansas. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Safe Kids Johnson County. “This will be a special event celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Turner Boxing Academy,” explained Turner, who is Romero’s manager/head trainer. It’s a tough homecoming fight for Marco.”

The primary sponsor of this event is McCarthy Auto Group. “I’m elated to support the Turner Boxing Academy’s 20th anniversary event,” McCarthy Auto Group founder and owner John McCarthy berkomentar. “This is clearly a reputable organization and non-profit. I’ve been impressed with Marco Romero and recognize how pivotal early support can be in shaping a career.”
Romero was a 23-time national amateur champion, highlighted by gold medal performances in the 2024 USA National Championships and National Golden Gloves Tournament, for which he was selected as the “Golden Boy” Award winner as the Most Outstanding Boxer.

He is matched against Javier Dario Aragon (7-1-1, 3 Biaya), fighting out of Denver by way of Mexico, in the 8-round main event.

“Fighting at home means so much to me,” Romero said about fighting in Olathe. “It’s giving me that extra motivation and drive to work hard every single day in the gym. I’m ready to give my people from KC and Olathe a show.”
Romero, currently a promotional free agent, has needed only 17 rounds in his 9 pertarungan profesional, registering 8 penghentian, including his last six fights in a row. He is set to compete as a middleweight for the first time after previously fighting at super middleweight, his sixth fight in 2025.

“Going down to middleweight has always been the plan,” Romero noted. “My dream is to be a multi-world champion in different weight classes. I’m excited to see how I feel going to middleweight and see how I feel after this fight. Our plan is to go even lower in weight to super welterweight.

For the first time in 2025, charismatic super flyweight contenderJohn “Scrappy” Ramirez (15-1, 9 Biaya) returned to the ring on last Saturday’s DAZN Pay-Per-View event, presented by MVP Promotions and Golden Boy Promotions, and headlined by YouTuber turned boxerJake “Anak Bermasalah” Paul(12-1, 7 Biaya) terhadapJulio Cesar Chavez, Jr. (54-7-1, 34 Biaya) di Honda Center di Anaheim, California.

I was comfortable, regardless, because I prepare at camp for anything that may happen. I wanted the fight and gave him (Morales) two passes on weight. CANASTOTA, NY – MARCH 18, 2024 – The International Boxing Hall of Fame and Museum, which is celebrating its 35th Anniversary in 2024, is pleased to announce that Hall of Famer “The Golden Boy” Oscar De La Hoya will attend the Banquet of Champions and other events planned for planned for the 2024 Hall of Fame Induction Weekend set for June 6-9.
“From Olympic gold to world titles in six divisions, Oscar De La Hoya captured the imagination of boxing fans around the world,” said Hall of Fame director Edward Brophy. “We are very much looking forward to welcoming ‘The Golden Boy’ back to Canastota for the Hall of Fame’s 35th Anniversary celebration.”

De La Hoya capped a 223-5 (153 Biaya) amateur career by capturing lightweight gold at the 1992 Olimpiade. He turned pro the same year and captured his first world title – the WBO super featherweight – in only his 12th pro bout and would go on to win 10 world titles in six weight divisions.

Among the champions he defeated include Jorge Paez, John John Molina, Rafael Ruelas, Genaro Hernandez, Ike Quartey, Fernando Vargas, Ricardo Mayorga and Hall of Famers Hector Camacho, Julio Cesar Chavez, Pernell Whitaker and Arturo Gatti.

One of the biggest pay per view attractions in boxing history. De La Hoya retired in 2008 with a pro record of 39-6 (30 Biaya). Di 2002 he established promotional powerhouse Golden Boy Promotions. Di 2014 “The Golden Boy” was elected into the Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility.

LAS VEGAS (Mei 19, 2021) – Only five boxers have started their professional careers with a 50-fight win streak and the contemporary leader, 41-0 Gilberto "Zurdo" Ramirez is on a mission to join the exclusive club, continuing July 9th in Los Angeles againstSullivan Barrera (22-3, 14 Biaya).

Roy Jones Jr. is an American professional boxer who has captured numerous championships in the Middleweight, Super middleweight, Light heavyweight and Heavyweight divisions. He is the only boxer in history to start his career as a junior middleweight, and go on to win a heavyweight title. He is also noted for holding the WBC, WBA, IBF, IBO, NABF, WBF, and IBA light heavyweight championships; a record seven belts at the same time. COLORADO SPRINGS, Putaran. (November 19, 2018) – The late Emanuel Steward, arguably the greatest boxing trainer of all-time, is a member of the Class of 2018 getting inducted into the USA Boxing Alumni Association Hall of Fame.

Steward was a boxer, trainer extraordinaire, and HBO commentator until his untimely death in 2012 pada usia 68. His boxing career culminated with his induction into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1996.

 

 

 

Pada usia 12, Manny moved with his mother from West Virginia to Detroit, where his life soon turned to boxing. “Emanuel would always say, KO menjual!” Stevenson fondly remembered. “He was also the first to tell me, ‘You will be a superstar and a world champion. Just make sure you don’t listen to people with bad intentions because you’ve got natural talent.’ He believed in me even if some people did not think I would ever become a world champion.”

 

 

 

“Emanuel Steward impacted the lives of so many who walked through the doors of Kronk Gym,” tersebut Chris Cugliari, Direktur Eksekutif Asosiasi Alumni Tinju AS. “While he’s most recognized for his achievement at the professional level, his impact was significant in the amateurs. “For years he would come to my National Silver Gloves Tournament that I sponsored and put on in Kansa City just to show his support of the youth program,” added USA Boxing president John Warna Coklat ditambahkan. “Every year I would tell him to let me know if he was coming, so I could VIP him, and every year he would ignore me and just quietly show up. I would notice him in the crowd. I would ball him out and then we did the same thing the following year.

 

 

 

“I also used to see him at big fights and he would always make me feel special by saying my company saved boxing in the seventies and eighties by providing safe, well-made, fair priced boxing equipment for the sport. No one else ever gave me that recognition. He was humble and not a blowhard, my kind of guy.”

 

 

 

Emanuel Steward left his mark on earth, not only as a multi-faceted personality in boxing, but he’s also remembered for his magnanimous charity work in Detroit, in which he helped youths in their pursuit of education.

NEW YORK (Bulan Maret 26, 2018) – Pelampung tinju Bob Goodman dan ayahnya, akhir Murray Goodman, diantara 23 anggota Kelas 2018 dilantik ke dalam Hall of Fame Tinju Negara Bagian New York (NYSBHOF) pada tanggal Hari Minggu sore hari (12:30-5:30 p.m. DAN), Bulan April 29.
Makan malam induksi NYSBHOF tahunan ketujuh akan diadakan sekali lagi di Russo's On The Bay di Howard Beach, New York.
Seorang humas tinju legendaris, Murray Goodman (Bronx) membawa putranya ke dalam ilmu manis ketika Bob baru berusia delapan tahun. Sisanya bersejarah bagi Goodman, yang sama-sama dilantik dalam beberapa Halls of Fame, termasuk Hall of Fame Tinju Internasional.
“Ini adalah kehormatan besar bagi saya dan ayah saya,” Kata Bob. “Saya berharap dia masih hidup hari ini untuk berada di sana. Saya seorang tinju lifer. Saya berumur delapan tahun pergi ke semua kamp pelatihan dengan ayah saya, yang pernah menjadi penulis tinju dan editor olahraga untuk INS (Hearst News Service) layanan. Saya harus mengenal semua orang. Saya dibesarkan di tinju, seluruh hidup saya adalah tinju, 65 tahun dalam bisnis.”
Bob adalah, jangan jangan, paling dikenal sebagai Vice President dan Matchmaker untuk Madison Square Garden (1985-1994), serta seperempat abad menjabat sebagai Wakil Presiden Operasi Tinju, Pencocokan dan Direktur Hubungan Masyarakat Don King Productions. Dia juga mempromosikan banyak juara dunia sebagai Presiden perusahaannya sendiri, Tinju Negara Bagian Taman.
“Saya ingat pergi ke kamp pelatihan selama berminggu-minggu,” Goodman yang berusia 78 tahun selalu mengenangnya. “Saya akan mengambil gambar, menulis cerita setiap hari dan menggunakan telecopier saya untuk mengirimkannya ke AP dan UPI. Saya melakukan begitu banyak hal yang dibesarkan di luar bisnis, bahkan memuat truk dengan kursi, cincin, speaker dan lainnya. Ayah saya adalah Direktur Publisitas Klub Tinju Internasional di Madison Square Garden. Saya bekerja di sana ketika saya masih remaja.
“Saya merasa terhormat dilantik ke Hall of Fame Tinju Negara Bagian New York bersama ayah saya dan begitu banyak petinju. Mereka berbeda dari orang-orang dalam olahraga lainnya. Salah satu penghargaan yang saya menangkan yang paling saya banggakan adalah James J.. Penghargaan Memorial Walker untuk Layanan Panjang dan Berjasa untuk Tinju (BWAA masuk 1960).

Penerima CBHOF baru lainnya adalah petinju perintis “Profesor” Charles Hadley, dokter cincin Dr. Tony Alessi, wasit / juri Dick Flaherty, penulis tinju Dan Parker dan kontributor petinju / tinju Hugh Devlin, Sr.
Lulusan Universitas Brown, Sammartino yang sekarang berusia 80 tahun telah menikmati dua karir lain sebagai ahli bedah mulut dan penasihat investasi di Blue Fin di Providence, selain perannya sebagai juri tinju internasional sejak itu 1985.
“Saya pertama kali terjun ke tinju karena Joey Angelo menikah dengan sepupu saya,” Sammartino menjelaskan. “Dia melawan di awal empat puluhan. Joey melawan Willie Pep dua kali dan Sandy Saddler. Itulah yang membuat saya memulai.
