HOUSTON, Texas – October 30, 2024 – Red Owl Boxing’s flagship seriesBOXFEST will return this Friday, November 1, streaming live on DAZN globally in more than 200 territories and regions from the state-of-the-art “Owl’s Nest” in Houston at 9pm ET/8pm CT.

BOXFEST XIIwill feature the conclusion of the Shadow FightGoods 140-pound tournament which has played out exclusively on Red Owl Boxing’sBOXFEST reeks. The two winners of the opening round, Dion Jones (7-0, 6 Uitklophoue) enElijah Williams (9-1, 3 Uitklophoue) face off in an eight-round junior welterweight fight. Both fighters edged out decision wins in September onBOXFEST X.

“It feels good to be back with Red Owl Boxing, fighting on DAZN as the co-main event,"Sê Williams. “This is a big deal for me and a big deal for my city. I am from Newburgh, New York, the bottom of the bottom. All I know is pain and I’m going to show the world better than I can tell them this Friday.”

The fight will mark the first eight-round bout for the 21-year-old prospect who turned pro in 2021 and Jones will be the second undefeated fighter Williams has faced in his young career. Despite the step up in competition, the New York native is confident he is built for the moment.

“I never ever sleep on any opponent and I won’t start now. I look at everyone like they are ‘him’ so that I am mentally strong and prepared,"Sê Williams. “With that being said, I am going to keep it real – Dion Jones is not on my level. My blood, sweat and tears have been spilled in the sport of boxing for moments like this. I am going to take him to deep waters, places he has never been before and see how he functions when the tide gets rough.”

Williams began boxing at a young age and was ranked as high as third in USA Boxing’s Junior Division as an amateur. Younger than Jones by five years, “The Bully” enters the Shadow FightGoods 140-pound tournament final with advantages in amateur experience and height.

“Dion Jones has never been in the ring with someone like me,” noted Williams. “I promise you, I don’t see it going past the sixth round and that is being generous. Stay tuned to this one on Friday night. The whole world will see who ‘The Bully’ is!"

Philadelphia, Penn. (Mei 14, 2018)–This past Friday night, junior weltergewig Mykal Fox remained perfect by winning a eight-round unanimous decision over Anthony Mercado.

 

 

The bout headlined an eight-fight card at SugarHouse Casino, and was promoted by King’s Promotions.

 

 

Fox van Forestville, Maryland controlled the action by using his long reach that set up combination punching. Die 22 year-old was solid throughout, and cruised home to the victory by scores of 79-73 twee keer en 78-74.

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ-It was a bittersweet night for welterweight contender Thomas LaManna as he won a 10-round unanimous decision over George Sosa in an entertaining bout in front of a capacity crowd at The Claridge Hotel In Atlantic City.

The 11-bout card was promoted by Rising Promotions.

LaManna won the WBC Silver Latino Welterweight title and shortly after, the fighter known as “Cornflake” promptly announced his retirement in the ring.

The two traded big blows throughout the bout as Sosa came out very aggressively and was able to land some good right hands. LaManna was giving better of the two-way action, which had the sold-out crowd very enthused throughout the contest.
In die tweede ronde, Sosa started to swell under his left eye. In round six, He started bleeding badly from his nose as the result of pinpoint shots from LaManna.

In round six, LaManna was dominant by scoring two knockdowns from body shots. LaManna was relentless in battering Sosa all over the ring with Sosa lucky to hear the bell to culminate the round. Both guys traded hard shots down the stretch with LaManna getting the better of the action. Every so often, Sosa was able to score with hard shots, but they were few and far between.
LaManna sat down on his punches and landed thudding blows as he tried to get the stoppage against the tough Sosa.

Mayfield, 200 lbs of Freehold, NJ is now 26-10-3. Capers, 196 lbs of Hawley, PA is 7-10-3.

Yurik Mamedov won a six-round unanimous decision over Ariel Vasquez in a welterweight bout.

The show is expected to be the 9th sold-out show at the Claridge promoted by Rising Promotions.
“Rising Promotions is looking forward to ending the Summer with another great show here at the Claridge. We have a good line up on the card so we are hoping for a packed house, and we are looking forward to staging our first championship bout,” said Debbie LaManna of Rising Promotions.
The championship bout is the first major sanctioning body championship bout in Atlantic City in almost three years. (Kovalev vs Hopkins, November 8, 2014).
LaManna will be looking to win his first belt in the welterweight division. A win will propel him into the rankings as he looks for a high profile bout later this year.
