Fernandez captures ABF title; Haddabah Shines in Clearwater

Agua Limpia, Florida (Octubre 19, 2021) – Fire Fist Boxing Promotions returned to Banquet Maters in Clearwater Saturday, Octubre 16 and treated fans to an entertaining 7 cartelera.


Popular junior welterweight Joseph Fernandez of St. Petersburgo, FL became the ABF champion with an impressive third round stoppage against veteran Jose Forero of Panama. Backed by a large cheering section, Fernandez got off to a strong start and landed many clean shots against the rugged Forero. En la tercera ronda, the southpaw Fernandez connected with picturesque right hook to Forero’s head that sent him crashing to the canvas.

135 pound up and comer Iron Alvarez of Tampa, FL improved to 14-0 (11 Nocáuts) following a hard-fought decision over Miami, FL based Argentinian Jonatan Hernan Godoy, 5-11 (2 Nocáuts).


Alvarez had a significant height and reach advantage and peppered Godoy with jabs and straight rights from the opening bell. Alvarez’ repeated blows opened a cut over Godoy’s left eye and helped him score a hard knockdown but Godoy had no intentions of packing it in.


Bleeding and down on the scorecards, Godoy begun pressing the fight and successfully connected with a number of punches to Alvarez’ head.

Nacido y criado en Sao Paulo, Brazil but now fighting out of Plant City, Florida, Silva has an outstanding 25-2 professional record with 14 nocauts. En Julio 14, Silva showed incredible heart and determination but lost via sixth round stoppage against elite rising star Teofimo Lopez. Prior to his gutsy effort vs Lopez, Silva shutout veteran Rogelio Casarez over ten rounds to capture the IBO Continental 135 campeonato de libra.

Joseph Fernandez de Arcadia, 7-3-3 (1 KO), will swap punches with Tobias “Da Truth” Green, 7-2 (2 Nocáuts), of West Palm Beach in a junior welterweight matchup while 5-0 welterweight prospect Ramon De La Paz of Wesley Chapel battles Orlando’s Javier Garcia.

 

 

 

Junior middleweight knockout artist Ozodbek “Bomber” Aripov of Fort Myers puts his 3-0 record on the line against Miami’s Clifford Gray Jr., heavyweight Jose “The Dream” Medina of Tampa faces Miami native Hector Hodge and Tampa junior lightweight Armando Moran squares off with Miami’s Benny Rodriguez Jr.

 

 

 

All bouts are scheduled for six rounds except Moran-Rodriguez, which is a four round contest.

 

 

 

Argentinian imports Marcos Escudero, 4-0 (3 Nocáuts) and Alberto Palmetta, 8-1 (4 Nocáuts), will also appear against opponents to be named.
