“Zurdo” targets Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol

LAS VEGAS (Marzo 31, 2021) – Former world super middleweight championGilberto "Zurdo" Ramirez (41-0, 27 KO) is on the hunt and his targets are undefeated Russians, Artur Beterbiev eDmitry Bivol, rispettivamente, the reigning WBC/IBF and WBA Super light heavyweight World champions.

The 29-year-old Ramirez, who recently signed an exclusive promotional contract withOscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions, is currently ranked No. 4 e No. 5, rispettivamente, by the WBA and WBO.

Ramirez was unimpressed by Beterbiev’s recent fight and he wonders where Bivol has been the past 1 Anni e mezzo, because he hasn’t been in the ring.

In his first fight in 519 giorni (Ottobre. 12, 2019), Beterbiev showed signs of rust and possibly age (36) during his 10th round technical knockout of his relatively unknown German opponent, Adam Deines (19-2-1, 10 KO).  Ora, Beterbiev is talking about next fighting the winner of the April 10th Joe Smith, Jr. (26-3, 21 KO) controMaxim Vlasov (45-3, 26 KO) aprile 10th for the vacant WBO 175-pound division title. Vlasov, incidentalmente, was defeated by Ramirez via a 10-round unanimous decision in 2015.

“I expected a lot more from him (Beterbiev),” Ramirez talked about Beterbiev’s fight with Deines. “I thought he looked flat and dull for the majority of the fight. It’s nice of him to temporarily hold my belts, but he should know that I’m coming for all the hardware and will bring the titles back to my people in Mexico.”

Bivol hasn’t thrown a punch during a fight in 17 mesi, since winning a 12-round unanimous decision againstLenin Castillo.  Instead of returning against a “name” fighter in defense of his WBA Super title, Bivol will be returning May 1st in London against somebody namedCraig “Spider” Richards 16-1-1, 9 KO), the WBA No. 8-rated light heavyweight who has never fought outside the United Kingdom.

“I’ve always said Dmitry Bivol was the toughest challenge out there,” Ramirez added, “which is why I want to make this fight happen. I know he’s got a fight coming up and hopefully he stays undefeated so we can make the mega-fight this summer.”

“Slugfest al The Sun” è stato registrato dal vivo e andrà in onda Luglio 19, 8 -10 p.m. E, su Rete sportiva del New England (NESNA). Il prossimo evento di Star Boxing, “Rockin’ combattimenti”,Settembre 21 al Paramount di Huntington, NY, andrà in onda anche su nastro- ritardo su NESN.

My fans love coming to Mohegan Sun. There isn’t a bad seat in the house and their hospitality is fantastic. Joe DeGuardia is keeping me very productive since we signed with him back in November. I am so pleased with the decision myself and manager Brian made to sign with them.”

 

 

 

Another local warrior on the card to watch is Anthony Laureano. Laureano earned the nickname “Azione” for his relentless, coming-forward fight style. If the East Hartford native is in the ring, fans can always expect an exciting show from start to finish. Star Boxing’s “Slugfest al sole” always brings fireworks to Connecticut, and Laureano looks to continue the tradition with his homecoming at Mohegan Sun.

 

 

 

Laureano was asked what he will provide the fans at Mohegan Sun, and his response was simply, “The same thing they always see, azione. Azione, questo è tutto. Il casinò mi tratta bene, e quando ci vado sento che questo è il posto a cui appartengo. Non l'ho mai sentito da nessun'altra parte.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Giro. (Giugno 25, 2018) – USA Boxing’s “Alumni Association Membership Drive Month” concludes this Saturday with another gathering as Mohegan Sun and Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing support the first-year group’s efforts to connect USA Boxing’s alumni.

 

 

 

USA Boxing Alumni Association (USABAA) is asking present members from New England and New York to bring a guest to register as new member ($40.00 registration). Both the current and new members will receive complimentary tickets, mentre il 40 donated tickets last, to that evening’s “Slugfest al The Sun” pro boxing card, presented at Mohegan Sun Arena by Star Boxing.

WORCESTER, Massa. CHICAGO, IL (Marzo 9, 2017) – After stopping former world champion, Chad Dawson (34-5, 19 KO), with a stunning tenth-round TKO, WBC #8 light-heavyweight contender, Andrzej Fonfara (29-4, 17 KO), is welcoming challenges from everyone in the top ten.
