FLINT, MY. The fight was stopped in the sixth round after an accidental clash of heads left Dirrell’s left eye badly cut. The ringside physician deemed Dirrell unable to continue and the fight went to the scorecards where Dirrell won a technical decision by scores of 49-46 en 48-47 twee keer.
Fighting in his hometown for the first time since 2011, Dirrell came out fast and appeared to have Douglin in trouble in round one with a flurry of hooks. Douglin was able to survive the round and had successful moments landing left hooks to Dirrell’s head.

“I was going for the knockout,” Said Dirrell. “I wanted to get him out of there. I was getting hit and I got frustrated occasionally. I need to stick to the game plan a little better and make sure I’m doing what I want to do in the ring.”
Dirrell and Douglin continued to trade blows until the decisive clash of heads that led to a premature end of the fight and Dirrell taking home the decision victory.
“I’m right there with anyone in this division,” Said Dirrell. “I was getting ready for a title fight and I hurt my back but I’m ready now. I want to face anyone with a belt or whoever will step up to the challenge.”

Clark showed toughness in never letting the cut slow him down as he stuck to the game plan and boxed effectively down the stretch.
Dolton stalked him throughout the final frames and landed occasionally but it was not enough as Clark took home the decision by scores of 78-74, 77-75 en 76-76.

In the final round, Karl seemed to have more left in the tank as he buzzed Martin with a right hand that slowed his opponent and helped him on his way to a unanimous decision by scores of 78-74 twee keer en 77-75.

The 29-year-old Douglin of Marlboro, N.J. has stood in against some of the toughest boxers in the sport, including 168-pound champions David Benavidez and George Groves, plus 154-pound champion Jermell Charlo. In his last match, Douglin lost on a TKO to Benavidez after winning three straight bouts by stoppage.

The 27-year-old Williams earned his first world title shot last year after defeating Marcello Matano to become the top contender before eventually falling short against unbeaten Jermall Charlo. Veg uit Philadelphia, Williams has been highly regarded since a strong amateur career and proved his worth in the pro ranks by stopping veterans Arman Ovsepyan and Luciano Cuello in addition to a shutout victory over Joey Hernandez. “Ek is mal oor die ondersteuners hier in Miami en hou daarvan om voort te veg ShoBox. Dit was die eerste keer dat ek gaan 10 rondes en ek voel wonderlik. Natuurlik sou ek graag die uitklophou wou kry, want ek wil altyd 'n skouspelagtige vertoning aanbied, maar dit was 'n wonderlike leerervaring vir my. Hy was 'n uiters taai teenstander en ek was verbaas dat hy soveel groot houe kon neem. Ons het daaraan gewerk om geduldig te wees en te boks en ek kon dit wys vanaand.''

 

Wang, wat sy beste gegee het en nooit toegelaat het dat Baranchyk ontspan nie, gesê, “Ek het ’n bietjie styf gevoel en ek kon nie my vuishoue afkry soos ek wou nie. Hy was 'n bietjie te groot vir my.''

“Om so 'n geveg te wen is beslis 'n verligting. Ek was senuweeagtig oor die geveg, maar nie oor baklei op TV nie. Dit was veronderstel om my moeilikste geveg op papier te wees en ek dink ek het goed gevaar.

 

“Ek voel ek het dalk 'n paar oë oopgemaak, maar dit is grootliks aan Freddie Roach. Ek voel ek verbeter danksy Freddie. Ek gooi vinniger, vinniger stampe en die koördinasie tussen my voetwerk met my hande is baie beter. Al wat is as gevolg van Freddie.
