InvictoJoshua James Pagan (10-0, 4 KOs) from Grand Rapids, Mich., will take on hard-hitting veteranHaskell Rhodes (31-6, 16 KOs) from Las Vegas in a 10-round bout in the lightweight division. HALL OF FAMER “THE GOLDEN BOY” OSCAR DE LA HOYATO ATTEND 2024 HALL OF FAME WEEKEND Hall of Fame’s 35th Anniversary Celebration set for June 6 – 9
CANASTOTA, NY – MARCH 18, 2024 – The International Boxing Hall of Fame and Museum, which is celebrating its 35th Anniversary in 2024, is pleased to announce that Hall of Famer “The Golden Boy” Oscar De La Hoya will attend the Banquet of Champions and other events planned for planned for the 2024 Hall of Fame Induction Weekend set for June 6-9.
“From Olympic gold to world titles in six divisions, Oscar De La Hoya captured the imagination of boxing fans around the world,” said Hall of Fame director Edward Brophy. “We are very much looking forward to welcoming ‘The Golden Boy’ back to Canastota for the Hall of Fame’s 35th Anniversary celebration.”

De La Hoya capped a 223-5 (153 KOs) amateur career by capturing lightweight gold at the 1992 Jogos Olímpicos. He turned pro the same year and captured his first world title – the WBO super featherweight – in only his 12th pro bout and would go on to win 10 world titles in six weight divisions.

Among the champions he defeated include Jorge Paez, John John Molina, Rafael Ruelas, Genaro Hernandez, Ike Quartey, Fernando Vargas, Ricardo Mayorga and Hall of Famers Hector Camacho, Julio Cesar Chavez, Pernell Whitaker and Arturo Gatti.

One of the biggest pay per view attractions in boxing history. De La Hoya retired in 2008 with a pro record of 39-6 (30 KOs). Em 2002 he established promotional powerhouse Golden Boy Promotions. Em 2014 “The Golden Boy” was elected into the Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility.

An impressive list of over 35 boxing greats from the United States and abroad, including the Class of 2024, returning Hall of Famers and special guests will participate in the Hall of Fame Weekend celebration.

(Outubro 19, 2017, 2017) – His induction into the Connecticut Boxing Hall of Fame (CBHOF) no sábado noite, Outubro 28, as part of the six-member Class of 2017, will cap the boxing career of retiring judge Clark Sammartino em 13º Jantar anual CBHOF Gala Indução no Ballroom Uncas no Mohegan Sun.

A graduate of Brown University, the now 80-year-old Sammartino has enjoyed two other careers as an oral surgeon and investment advisor at Blue Fin in Providence, in addition to his role as an international boxing judge since 1985.
“I first got into boxing because Joey Angelo married my cousin,” Sammartino explained. “He fought back in the early forties. Joey fought Willie Pep twice and Sandy Saddler. That’s what got me started. We used to have the great Segunda-feira Night Fights at Rhode Island Auditorium and I remember watching Rocky Marciano fight “Tigre” Ted Lowry there.”
Because he was a successful oral surgeon, Clark could take long weekends to judge fights all over the world. His first and most memorable world title fight was Vinny Paz-Greg Haughn I. Through his long career, Sammartino judged more than 400 lutas profissionais, Incluindo 50 major world title fights.

Sammartino, who proudly says he never missed a day of work in 40 anos, has decided to retire, although he’ll remain a boxing fans for the rest of his life. “I started slowing down at my age, doing local shows and maybe three or four world title fights a year, mostly WBO and IBF,” Sammartino remarked. “I had a tough bout with pneumonia the past 5-6 months and that made working difficult.”
His CBHOF induction is a fitting ending and tremendous tribute to Sammartino and his career in boxing. “I’m humbled to be inducted into the Connecticut Boxing Hall of Fame,” ele disse. “This is a great way to end my career.”

A luta irá ao ar ao vivo na HBO como parte da série ‘HBO Boxing After Dark’, que começa de 9:45 pm (HUSA) no Colégio Park Center, localizado na Universidade do Texas em Arlington.

Félix Pagán Pintor added to Team Dulorme

O lendário treinador, Félix Pagán Pintor, foi confirmado para se juntar ao grupo de elite formadores porto-riquenhos que vai apoiar Thomas Dulorme ( 22-1, 14 KO ) no seu canto. Em Sábado, 18 abril, Dulorme estará enfrentando o maior desafio de sua carreira como ele enfrenta o “2014 Boxer do ano” e campeão mundial de peso leve Terence Crawford ( 25-0,17 KO ) em uma luta pelo campeonato mundial prevista para 12 rodadas para vago título WBO Mundial Júnior Welterweight. A luta será realizada no College Park Center, localizado no campus da Universidade do Texas, Arlington. A luta será transmitida ao vivo pela "HBO Boxing After Dark ', começando no 9:45 p.m. E/PT.
“Em uma parte remota das montanhas da região oriental da ilha de Puerto Rico, um grupo de instrutores experientes de elite estão trabalhando duro com Dulorme em preparação para a luta. Félix Pagán Pintor has over 40 anos de experiência de boxe. Em 1977 ele tinha o seu pro-estréia como lutador e, ao mesmo tempo que é um treinador. Ele trabalhou durante 60 ataques do campeonato mundial com lutadores lendários como Wilfredo Gomez, Hector 'Macho’ Camacho, Ivan Calderon, Paul Williams, Carlos Santos, entre outros.

Fatos lutador:
Crawford foi reconhecido como o '2014 Boxer do ano', um prêmio dado pela Boxing Writers Association of America ( BWAA ) por suas vitórias notáveis ​​sobre Ricky Burns, de quem tomou o título mundial WBO. Ele, então, com sucesso defendeu o seu título em duas ocasiões contra Yuriorkis Gamboa e Ray Beltrán.

Por outro lado Dulorme é fresco fora de uma vitória contra o contendor mundo Hank Lundy e antes disso, Dulorme terminou invencibilidade de Karim Mayfield em um ataque que ele venceu por decisão unânime.
