Top 10 heavyweight contender Michael “The Bounty” Hunter On mission starting with “Battle of Rio Grande” PPV

GALVESTON, Texas (December 7, 2020) — World-rated heavyweight and 2012 U.S. Olympiër, Michael “The Bounty” Jager, is on a mission to position himself for a world heavyweight title shot in 2021.

Keeping busy is the key for promotional free agent Hunter (18-1-1, 12 KO) and it all starts for him December 18th, when he faces West Virginia’s Shawn Laughery (10-3, 6 KO), who has replaced veteran Chauncy “Hillyard Hammer” Welliver, in the 10-round co-featured event on “Battle of Rio Grande” kaart, airing live on pay per view from Galveston Island Convention Center in Galveston, Texas.

The 32-year-old Hunter, who fights out of Las Vegas, was a decorated amateur boxer who represented the United States at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. He captured gold medals at the 2012 U.S. National Championships and 2011 Nationale Golden Gloves, silver medal at the 2006 Nationale Golden Gloves, and bronze at the 2006 Wereldkampioenschap Junioren.

The son of a former pro boxer, wijlen Mike “The Bounty” Jager, Michael turned pro March 9, 2013, stoppen Chad Davis in de derde ronde. “Promoting is not an easy job,” Ramirez said, “but I have good people behind me. They’ve got my back and we work very well together. I was world champion and now I’m a promoter; I see the big picture. I don’t want to be fighting forever. I started my own promotional company so that when I retire, I will have a good life after boxing. There’s no stress on me as a promoter, the stress is on my team.”

The 6’ 3” Ramirez is a physical specimen who can dunk a basketball and could easily have been a pro athlete in a different sport like football. He follows business trends and by[opening his own promotional company, he’s taking advantages of the new era of boxing, in which he plans to aid fellow boxers, particularly Mexicans, by giving them a larger platform to display their skills.

Working with his opponent in terms of promoting “Battle of Rio Grande” is a sign of two fighters taking control of their careers, as well as being completely independent rather than under a promoter, although Lopez has been promoting in Texas for several years.

“We’ll work together but, in de ring, he wants my 40-0 Ramirez noted. “I know he’s been training a lot, so he’s going to be faster and stronger, which is good for me because I like fighting good fighters. Lopez will be riding a 10-fight win streak into the ring Dec. 18th versus Ramirez in the 12-round main event. CASABLANCA, Marokko (Februari 2, 2017) – Former Interim cruiserweight world champion Yuri “El Toro” Kalenga will provide chief support Februari 18 for pro-debuting Moroccan amateur boxing sensation Mohammad Rabii op de “Battle of Casablanca” kaart, presented by Nowhere2Hyde, at Complexe de Sportif Mohammed V Arena in Casablanca, Marokko.
Kalenga (22-3, 15 KO), fighting out of France by way of The Congo, is currently rated No. 12 door de World Boxing Association (WBA) en nr. 16 door de World Boxing Council (WBC). Rabii won a bronze medal at the 2016 Olympische Spelen in Brazilië, dropping a highly-disputed decision (0-3) in the semifinals to Uzebek boxer Shakhram Giyasov, the eventual silver medalist.
The ultra-charismatic Rabii has reached “rock star” status in Morocco, testament by an average of 6-million Moroccans viewing each of Rabbi’s Olympic matches on Arryadia Television. “We are very excited to work with our television partners, Arryadia, on our February 18th show as the first of five shows in 2017 featuring Mohammed Rabii,” promotor Gary Hyde zei. “Rabii has the entire nation of Morocco behind him and he will be challenging for top welterweight honors in no time at all.”
Rabii will take on veteran Hungarian boxer Adam “Bad Boy” Mate (24-10, 17 KO) in het hoofdevenement van zes ronden.

DAVID “EL BANDERA ROJA” BENAVIDEZ STRIVING FOR GREATNESS GETS RIGHT BACK IN THE GYM

LANG STRAND, CALIFORNIË (Juli 7, 2016) – Just two days after dominating previously undefeated Francy Ntetu (16-1, 3 KO) on Premier Boxing Champions’ Juni 25th CBS card at New York’s Barclay’s Center, “The Red Flag,” David Benavidez, was back at his home gym in Long Beach, preparing for his next bout. The rising star had no intention of taking time off, and jumped right into an intense training regimen that included sparring with Gilberto “Linkshandige” Ramirez (34-0, 24KO), who was set to make his pay-per-view debut later in the month, but was sidelined this week with an injury.
“My last fight was hard, but I learned a lot,” stated Benavidez regarding his bout with previously unbeaten Canadian Ntetu. “It was great experience, getting rounds in.”
With only one exception, a six round fight that went the distance in 2014, Benavidez hadn’t fought beyond the second round, knocking out opponent after opponent.
“I feel better and more experienced,” Benavidez continued. “I have confidence knowing I can go into deep waters and finish a fight if I have to. I’m learning how to pace myself when I need to during a round, and I know that those later rounds made me a better fighter.”
As Benavidez prepares for his next fight, he’s focused completely on improving himself.
“I didn’t mind getting right back to the gym,” said Benavidez. “This is my lifestyle now. I just want to train. I want to look at what I did wrong in my last fight and fix it. I don’t want to get rusty in between fights. When I’m not physically training, I’m thinking about mistakes I made in fights, techniques that can be improved. I want to get better each fight, and I’m consumed by that.”
“It’s this commitment to success and improvement that sets David apart from other young men his age, and other fighters,” zei Jose Benavidez, Sr., David’s father and head trainer. “This is what makes him different, and this is why he’s going to be the best.”
