 COLORADO SPRINGS, Krilo. (Maj 21, 2018) – Future Hall of Famer Antonije “The Magic Man” Tarver (31-6-1, 1 NC, 22 KOs) has just about done it all as a boxer having been an Olympic medal winner and world champion as an amateur, along with capturing five major light heavyweight world titles as a professional, as well as a pair of The Ring magazine’s top honors, and four other world championships in two different divisions.“I credit USA Boxing for giving me structure for the first time in my life,” Objasnio Tarver. “Everything was scheduled; curfew, eating, trening, sleep….sve! I then understood that I had to be accountable for everything I did. I had talent, but I wasn’t structured, and that was bigger than me. I had to adjust to authority. My determination took off, giving me support I never had before. I went on to make speaking engagements and get sponsors. I broke barriers. I’ve been the best at every level that I fought at in the world.”
Tarver was a highly decorated amateur who had an amazing 158-12 rekord. He is the only boxer to capture gold medals at World Amateur Championships, U.S. National Championships and Pan-American Games in the same year (1995). The Orlando, Florida-born southpaw won a bronze medal at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, losing in the quarterfinals to future world champion Vassiliy Jirov, who Tarver had defeated in the semifinals of the 1995 World Amateur Championships. Tarver also won top honors at the 1994 National Golden Gloves Tournament and 1995 World Championships Challenge.
“I went on a winning roll in 1995 and went into the Olympics in rare form,” Tarver je rekao. “And that’s why I was favored to win a gold medal. I was hitting him (Jirov), the same guy I’d beaten in the World Championships, but no points were registering for me. I had a good second round, but I was down three points, so I threw my game plan away in the third round. “I had been faced with a decision about going pro after I was beaten in the ’92 Olympic Trials. I was watching that on television, jumped up, and knew where I was heading: The Olympics! We both suffered horrible decisions in the Olympics and I knew then that our careers would be parallel.

The WBC stripped Tarver of his title in 2004 for fighting IBF champion Glen Johnson (41-9-2) instead of the WBC mandatory challenger. Johnson, ironično, was stripped of his IBF title for the same reason right before his fight in Los Angeles with Tarver. Tarver and Johnson fought for The Ring and IBO titles and Johnson won a 12-round split decision.
In their rematch six months later u Memphis, Tarver won a unanimous 12-round decision over Johnson to capture the IBO strap. Tarver completed his trilogy with Jones, retaining his IBO title with a unanimous 12-round decision (117-111, 116-112, 116-112).
Tarver lost a 12-round decision June 10, 2006 in Atlantic City to Bernard Hopkins for the IBO championship, which was soon vacated and recaptured by Tarver with a 12-round majority decision over Elvir Muriqi (34-3).
Tarver traveled to Australia in 2011 to challenge IBO cruiserweight champion and local hero Danny Green, who retired after nine rounds, as Tarver added another title belt to his display case.
U decembru 2013 in Temecula, Kalifornija, Tarver knocked out Jonathon Banks (29-2-1) in the seventh round, and Tarver’s last fight was a 12-round split decision draw with former world champion Steve Cunningham (28-7) u Newark, Nju Džerzi.
U 2006, Tarver starred as Mason “The Line” Dixon, the heavyweight champion in the film,Rocky Balboa.
Tarver, as he marches towards his planned history-making performance by becoming the oldest heavyweight world champion of all-time, also has served as a color commentator in boxing for Spike TV and Showtime.

Reyes Headlines Fight Night Promotions Card March 9 at Florida State Fairgrounds
Tampa, FL (Mart 7, 2018) – Welterweight up and comer Mark Reyes will face veteran Larry Yanez in the main event of Fight Night Promotions’ “Petak Night Fights” Petak, Mart 9 at the Florida State Fairgrounds Entertainment Center in Tampa, FL.

He’s faced the likes of Gary Antuanne Russell, Samuel Seah, Rickey Edwards, Ivan Najera and Yoelvis Gamboa. In Novemebr 2012, Yanez upset previously unbeaten Jairo Martinez via unanimous decision.

U co-main event , Female bantamweight sensation Jasmine “The Animal” Artega of Tampa risks her 4-0 record in a four rounder against iron-chinned Louisianan Ivanna Coleman. Artega’s won all of her bouts by knockout, three coming in the first round and she’s quickly built a reputation as a dynamic puncher with championship potential. A veteran 9 tuče, all but one of Coleman’s opponents were unbeaten and she’s never been stopped.
Cruiserweight Ramon Nicholas, 10-2 (6 KO-a) looks to continue his impressive run when he battles Jimmy “Mad Boxer” Owensby, 5-7 (2 KO-a) of Louisiana in a six round contest. Born in Cuba but now living in Miami, FL, Nicolas holds impressive victories over renowned spoiler Darnell Boone and former world title challenger Marcus Oliveira. A standout in the World Series of Boxing, both of his Nicholas’ setbacks came via disqualification. Owensby is also riding a wave of confidence, handing 5-0 Richard Brown his first defeat last July.
Junior lightweight Iron Alvarez, 1-0 (1 KO), of Winter Haven, FL meets Alabama’s Jamarkus Harmon, 0-2, in a four rounder. Locals Juan Avila, Ramon De La Paz and Michael Ream will also appear in undercard action.
“There was a lot that went into making this card happen including a last minute venue change,” said William Hunter of Fight Night Promotions. “We’re pleased to be showcasing who we believe are two of Florida’s best up and comers in Mark Reyes and Jasmine Artega. Silva sharp for Saturday showdown with Casarez; targets the best at 135
Plant City, FL (Mart 1, 2018) – Many in the boxing world best remember Brazilian lightweight William Silva for his gutsy 2016 performance against Felix Verdejo. Even with limited information about the man he’ll swap punches with Saturday evening, Silva’s confident he’ll defeat his Arkansas-based foe before setting his sights on the 135 pound division’s elite.
"(With a victory) I hope to get ranked and fight the top fighters at 135. This is my time to make it happen because I’ve got the right people behind me that believe in my career.”
The card starts at 7 pm and also features 7 other bouts including local standouts Nicholas Iannuzzi, Antonio Tarver Jr., Joseph Fernandez, Ricky Tomlinson and Ozodek Aripov.

Hailing from Sao Paolo, Brazil but residing in Florida, Silva has an excellent 24-1 professional record with 14 of those victories by knockout. The former WBO Latino Lightweight titlist fought highly-touted Felix Verdejo on HBO in 2016 but came up short in a gutsy performance. Silva is looking to get back into the limelight but must first pass a tough test on the 3rd.
Known by his moniker “El Loco,” Casarez has proven his willingness to fight anybody, bilo kada, negdje. AMATEUR GOLD WILL BE UP FOR GRABS AT NEF 33 U PORTLANDU

Undefeated Shawn Lunghi has been dominant in two previous NEF cage appearances. The Florida native first traveled north in the fall of 2016, scoring a second round submission of Alex Clark (4-2). Perrella Outpoints Martin; Ready for next Challenge
Decembar 9, 2017 (Hialeah, FL) – Bryant “Goodfella” Perrella returned to the ring with a hard-fought unanimous decision victory over Alex “Chi-Town Heat” Martin Friday, Decembar 8.
The eight round welterweight bout took place at the Hialeah Racetrack in Hialeah, FL and aired on FS1.
Fighting for the first time u 14 mjeseci and coming off a severe injury, Perrella looked to impress from the opening bell. The Fort Myers native came out aggressive and decked Martin with a picture perfect right hook in the opening round. Perrella continued to be the aggressor while the Chicago-based Martin picked his spots and relied on movement. Martin had a few good moments later in the fight but Perrella’s power and punch output earned him a clear-cut victory.

"It felt great to come back” said Perrella. “I didn’t feel any ring rust and I’m satisfied with my performance. I controlled the fight with my jab and ring generalship (even after) he went into survival mode. I’m back and ready for whoever they put in front of me. My goal is still to become a world champion!"
