New York, NY (Maggio 18, 2018)-Split-T Management ha ingaggiato un contendente leggero junior imbattuto Eric De Leon ad un contratto manageriale esclusivo.
De Leon, 26 anni di Detroit attraverso Sabina Nuevo Leon, Il Messico ha un record di 17-0-1 con 10 ko.
Prima di diventare professionista, De Leon è stato un triplo (2009-2011) Campione nazionale dei guanti d'oro e campione del mondo in prima fila 2008. Era anche un 2008 Campione nazionale Guanti d'Argento.
De Leon è diventato professionista 2012, e ha accumulato vittorie su Fidel Navarrete (8-1-2), José Salinas (10-2-1) & Daulis Prescott (31-4).
Nel suo ultimo incontro, De Leon ha intrapreso una battaglia di dieci round con l'altro contendente imbattuto da 130 libbre Andy Vences che si è conclusa con un pareggio.

“Sono emozionato perché questo sarà il mio primo otto round. Mi sento bene perché mi sto avvicinando 10- e combattimenti di 12 round e un colpo per il titolo mondiale. So che accadrà, ma prima devo farmi strada fino ai grandi incontri e farmi notare di più. La formazione sta andando bene. Stavo già allenandomi prima di scoprire che stavo combattendo. Ero già in buona forma, quindi ora stiamo intensificando il passo e mettendoci davvero in forma.

 

 

 

O'Quinn, dal West Side di Detroit nella zona di Plymouth e Greenfield, gode di un'intensa popolarità tra gli appassionati di boxe della Motown, il che gli dà una motivazione in più per impressionare.

Dmitriy Salita, di Salita Promozioni, annuncia con orgoglio la firma di un contratto di co-promozione da parte del contendente di livello mondiale dei pesi massimi leggeri Umar Salamov, insieme a Promozioni KA.

Salamov (20-1, 15 KO) proviene da Alkhan-Kala, Russia, ma attualmente si sta allenando a Detroit presso la leggendaria Kronk Gym con Javan SugarHill Steward.
“Umar è alto, longilineo dei pesi massimi leggeri con un gioco di gambe astuto e un arsenale di pugni,” disse Steward. “Essendo che Umar è solo 23 anni, il suo atletismo naturale e la sua creatività sul ring mi rendono entusiasta di insegnargli la magia di Kronk, il che lo renderà una forza nella forte divisione dei pesi massimi leggeri.”

“Technically I see that [Nikki] is very poised and calm. She’s patient, but not too patient.

 

“Even though she may be the bigger fighter, I know I’m the aggressor. I think I can get her out in six rounds.

 

“Of course everyone wants to get the big knockout, but I haven’t found the right punch that gets the girls knocked out. I’m young so I know it will come.

 

“I’m glad Cyborg is here to support me. She hits hard and we’ve sparred. She’s strong and she is fast. She’s picked up a lot from me, and I’ve learned from her. She’s the most feared MMA fighter, and I’m most feared in boxing. So it’s great for both women’s sports.”

“I’ve been here for about a month training at Kronk Gym. Russian fighters are known for being very disciplined, and we know the opportunity that is in front of us. There is no room for slip ups and to get lazy. This is my big shot and I’m going to take advantage of it.

 

“The sparring has been the biggest thing. I’ve been sparring with pros and amateurs. It’s so much more powerful here and the variety is something I would never get at home.

“I had a layoff of about five years and worked construction jobs because I had to pay the bills, but now I’m back and focused on boxing.

TWO-TIME OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALIST, FIGHTING FOR FIRST WORLD TITLE NEXT WEEK, SOUNDS OFF ON OPPONENT NIKKI ADLER AND RISING CELEBRITY STATUS
DETROIT (Luglio 28, 2017) – Two-time Olympic Gold Medalist Claressa “T-Rex” Shields (3-0, 1 KO) says she’s in the shape of her life to take on reigning WBC Super Middleweight World Champion Nikki Adler (16-0, 9 KO) of Germany next Venerdì, Agosto 4, at the MGM Grand Detroit.
Shields will challenge for her first world title in the 10-round main event of Salita Promotions’ “BATTLE OF THE BEST” evento, which will be televised live on ShoBox: La nuova generazione (10:30 p.m. E/PT).
Shields says she’s not rattled by Adler’s recent remarks, that the United States should be ready for their golden girl to taker her first loss. Infatti, she’s never rattled. She also gives her thoughts on her recent Twitter war with another top female fighter.
Give me your thoughts on Nikki Adler’s remarks about the US being ready for her to beat you.
Nikki has to pump herself up, so she will say a lot the week of the fight. The US is ready alright… ready for its 2x Olympic gold medal winner to win her first pro world title!
Does it intimidate you or make you train harder when an opponent talks this way?
I’ve never been intimidated by anyone. I have had worse things said to me, I was gonna punish Nikki whether she talked trash or not.
Talk to me about the pressure surrounding this fight. You’re going for your first world title so early with the entire world watching.
I always have the entire world watching. Some people want me to win and some want the opposite! But I know what I can do, I’m just going to do it and dominate like always. No pressure!
Tell me about winning all these awards and coming even further to the forefront of national celebrity.
Winning awards is great; being recognized and respected is great also. I’ve done something that no other person in America has done, I’m the GWOAT!
Do you do anything different in training for a world title fight?
Sì, you focus more, recover more, spar more rounds, and drink plenty of water! I’ve never been more ready!
Do you believe Nikki Adler has never watched you fight?
Non, I don’t believe she hasn’t ever watched me fight. That’s all mind games! She wants me to believe that. Ma in tutta onestà, nothing on the internet can help her in a fight against me!
Do you dislike her now?
(Laughs) Dislike is for emotional females! I love her! I’m gonna kick her ass! And give her a big thank you after.
Tell me about your Twitter feud with (fellow top female boxer) Layla McCarter. What’s going on there?
Layla McCarter talks too much. For no reason. I didn’t have a problem with her at first, but she just upset because I say I’m P4P! And it’s the truth. She is just in denial! One minute she supports me and the next she is coming at me. In her interview after she beat Szabados, a girl I TKO’d in the fourth round previous, she says she can come to 160 and beat me. Then whenever I get props, or recognition, there she is again just saying slick stuff. I had to let her have it.
What will your philosophy be as world champion if you win?
I don’t do ‘ifs.’ WHEN I become world champion, my philosophy will be to be so great that even your enemies will start to love me. God has been my rock for many years. He says ‘be humble to him,’ which I am! But I don’t have to be humble to man when I speak about my God-given ability.

DETROIT (Luglio 27, 2017) – Detroit-based super welterweight contender Domonique Dolton is eager to return to action next weekend and get back in the mix.
Dolton (17-1-1, 9 KO) hasn’t fought in 10 mesi and hasn’t fought in his home state in nearly seven years, but says manager David Segura, and new trainer Jonathan Banks have him at an all-new level of skill and fitness and ready for the world’s best.
He will take on Brockton, Massachusetts, veteran Antonio Chaves Fernandez in a six-round fight on the undercard of Salita Promotions’ “BATTLE OF THE BEST” evento Venerdì, Agosto 4, at the MGM Grand Detroit.

“I feel really strong,” said Dolton. “I have been sparring with some of the top fighters in Detroit and I have one of the top trainers in the game working with me now, Johnathan Banks. I have all the right people supporting me. I also have one of the top business leaders locally and nationally, David Segura backing me. The sky is the limit.”
Dolton says although he’s been out of the ring, he hasn’t been inactive and the results will be apparent in his upcoming performances.
“I have been working on my craft, putting time into the gym. I am at a next level in my career now. I learned from the past and I’m ready to use my skills and experiences to showcase a level of boxing that true fight fans want to see: velocità, potere, and footwork that has taken me a lifetime to develop. My speed and strength are there and I will showcase this when I am under the lights on Agosto 4.”
Manager Segura says he’s happy Dolton is part of the resurgence of professional boxing in Detroit.

DETROIT (Luglio 10, 2017) – Two-time Olympic Gold Medalist Claressa “T-Rex” Shields è stato nominato #28 in AOL’s annual list of the world’s 50 most dominant athletes.
Shields came in ahead of top stars from across the world of sports including Connor McGregor and the NBA’s Steph Curry.
According to AOL: “Shields lived up to the hype around her at the Rio Olympics, becoming the only American to win back-to-back golds in boxing at the Olympics. Following a dominant amateur career in which she went 77-1, she’s 3-0 with one knockout under her belt in her professional career. She’ll compete for the world title in just her fourth professional bout in August.”
