Tus riyadh, Saudi Arabia (Lub yim hli ntuj 13, 2025) - Phase 3: The Quarterfinals of theWBC Boxing Grand Prix delivered thrilling upsets and spectacular knockouts across nearly 9 hours of commercial free boxing on DAZN as the crowd at the Cool Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia saw 32 fighters from 15 different countries in four different weight classes attempted to stamp their ticket to the tournament semifinals.

“We saw a compilation of great talent from all over the world. The boxers that fought tonight will be local heroes when they come back home,” said WBC President and tournament organizerMauricio Sulaiman. “This is something that just keeps getting better. I can’t wait for the Semifinals in October, and then the Grand Finale in December.”

Tag nrho cov 16 fighters who advanced will compete in October on a date to be determined.

Here is a recap of the night in Riyadh.

Sib ntaus ntawm cov Hmo ntuj: Middleweights Carlos Sinisterra (Colombia) 13-1 (10 Kos) KO Ephrem Bariko (Fabkis) 12-1 (6 Kos)

Bariko dominated the first two rounds and started the third with strong, precise combinations that were hitting the target. Txawm li cas los, everything turned in an instant as the Colombian standout cornered Bariko and rained down blows that the Frenchman couldn’t withstand.

Sinisterra won by knockout will now face Canada’s Derek Pomerleau in a middleweight Semifinal clash that promises to be one of the best fights of the Grand Prix.

Pomerleau (14-0, 11 Kos) defeated Ukrainre’s Dmytro Rybalko with a devastating four punch combo that earned him the TKO win in round two and a spot in the Semis.

Upset of the Night: Featherweights Muhamet Qamili (Ltalis) 17-0 (7 Kos) vs Troy Nash (TEB CHAWS USA) 5-1 (1 KO)

The upset of the night was made possible by the WBC’s enhanced scoring system, which allows judges to gauge the decisiveness of each fighter’s performance in each round as a tiebreaker in the event of a draw. That was the case during the most anticipated fight of the night, which also delivered perhaps its most unexpected result in a battle between undefeated prospects.

The three judges scored the bout 58-56 in favor of Nash, 58-56 for Qamili and 57-57 feem. In any other contest, the fight would have been declared a split draw. Txawm li cas los, the enhanced scoring system revealed that two judges saw it 5-4 thiab 4-2 in favor of Qamili, who went down to his knees and hugged his team after having his hand raised.

“Troy Nash is a future superstar. It was his fifth fight, and his opponent was very tough in a close fight. He will learn and come out better from it,” Sulaiman said after the fight.

Breakout of the Night: Heavyweight Kevin Ramírez (Argentina) (11-0-1, 4 Kos) UD over Piotr Lacz (Poland) (14-1-0, 10 Kos)

Argentina’s Kevin Ramirez, a natural cruiserweight fighting in the heavyweight division for this tournament, prevailed in a close enhanced scoring system decision over Poland’s Piotr Lacz, who outweighed him by 18 pounds after the official weigh-in on Tuesday.

Ramírez, who works as a trash collector to fund his boxing career, swept the judges off their feet with decisive rounds that showcased his effective combinations and an overall superior effectiveness in landing punches throughout the fight.

The Buenos Aires native will now face USA´s Dante Stone in what will be an even more daunting challenge in the semifinals. Stone weighed in at 257.9 pounds for his quarterfinal fight, while Ramírez did so at 204.

SAU NTAWV:

· USA went 1-3 during the quarterfinals. Stone was the only one who prevailed on the American side by unanimous decision over Morocco’s Youness Baalla.

· Mexico didn’t fare better with a 1-2 record as featherweight Brandon Mejia closed the night with a unanimous decision win over Ayubkhon Bakhtiyorov. Emiliano Aguillón lost to France’s Lancelot Proton de la Chappelle with an enhanced scoring system decision.

· The semifinals are set for October with 16 neeg tua hluav taws, four in each weight class, left vying for a spot in the championship Finals. The October date is to be announced in the coming weeks. Visit theWBC´s official website for the latest updates.

After promoting so many of the originalHollywood Fight Nightboxing shows in Hollywood, I am excited to return to my hometown and promote a special show that focuses on raising awareness to the very often ignored and overlooked aspect of mental health and wellness in the boxing industry. Together with 555 Media, we will continue to build on the long history of star-studded boxing events in Hollywood.
- Steve Bash, Bash Boxing

“Nyob rau hauv 2014, the WBC and WBC Cares joined with the USA Congressional Mental Health Task Force. We are grateful to Congresswoman Grace Napolitano and Mía St. John for bringing us together. Every May our athletes wear the green ribbon and dedicate their fights in our 176 countries to Mental Health Awareness. Mental Health is the core mission of WBC Cares.
- Jill Diamond, WBC Cares Global Chair

As the Chief Wellbeing Officer for Athletes for Hope, I believe it’s crucial to spotlight the mental health of boxers. Studies indicate that one in four people will struggle with mental health issues each year, and this is often magnified in high-intensity sports like boxing. The physical demands are well-known, but the mental resilience required is often overlooked. It’s time we break the silence and ensure boxers have the support they need to thrive both inside and outside the ring.

Atlantic NROOG, NJ (Lub kaum hli ntuj 31, 2024) - Undefeated blue-chip bantamweight prospect Dominique “Dimes” Crowder (17-0, 10 Kos) is ready to cash in November 16th on Boxing Insider Promotions’ loaded card, Streaming nyob ntawm Dazn los ntawm Chav Ua Si ntawm Tropicana Atlantic City.

Crowder. the reigning World Boxing Association (WBA) International bantamweight champion, is currently rated No. 14 in the world by the WBA. Trained by Jose Guzman and Hall of Famer Mark Breland, “Dimes” is a two-time New York Golden Gloves Champion rated No. 1 nationally in his weight class during his amateur career.

“I’m super excited to be on this card in Atlantic City,” the 30-year-old Crowder said. “I’m glad (event promoter) Larry Goldberg made it happen. All the greats fought there and it’s not too far from my hometown, about a two-hour drive. I’ll have a lot of support on fight night from people in Baltimore and New York City.”

Crowder takes on Duke Micah (24-2, 19 Kos), ntawm Ghana, in an eight-round bout on The Boardwalk. Micah is a former EBC International, Commonwealth Boxing Council and WBO African bantamweight champion.

“I have known Dominique since he was an amateur when I used to sponsor him,” Goldberg commented. “I have been his friend for years and watched his career progress to 17-0. He has a great team with Jose Guzman, Mark Breland, and his manager Adam Glenn. ‘Dimes’ is one of the best free agents in boxing and just an amazing human being.”

Crowder started boxing at the age of 14 in Baltimore. He fell in love with the sport and quickly discovered that he was a natural boxer. New York City is the home of his training camp for each fight in order to enhance his pro career, going back and forth to his Baltimore home on a regular basis.

Guzman has been training Crowder since the latter part of 2017 and he’s extremely high on his protégé. “Dominique is one of those diamonds in the rough from his amateur days,” Guzman noted.

“Everybody knew he was a very slick boxer who was hard to hit, but nobody thought he could hit. As a pro, he’s turned into a boxer-puncher. He didn’t train very much as an amateur because he was so naturally gifted, he didn’t need to. He’s more mature now. Dominique is one of those guys who eats and breathes boxing 24/7. If he’s not in the gym, he’s home watching boxing from back in the day. He is a student of the game.

“He’s the WBA International champion and the question is who is willing to fight him at 118? Nws yog 6 feet tall, long, and rangy like Mark Breland and Tommy Hearns, thiab (for his size) Dominique can hit like them.”

Crowder describes his style as a good puncher who is fundamentally sound but can also mix it up pending the situation in the ring. Because of his advantageous height fighting at bantamweight, Crowder watches and in the ring, he attempts to simulate long, rangy fighters such as Mark Breland, Tommy Hearns, Michael Nunn, and Diego Corrales.

The four world bantamweight champions of the major sanctioning bodies are all from Japan and Crowder realizes he may have to travel halfway around the world for his seemingly impending world title shot.

“Boxing is a waiting game,” Dominque explained, “and I need to stay ready until I get that call (world title shot offer). Because I’m ranked, it could happen at any time. Yog hais tias tsis, I’ll keep working hard to move up and become the mandatory challenger. Hopefully, my chance could happen next year. I’m getting better and better and I’m always fighting bigger guys than me at training camp, real punchers, never guys my weight.“I’m willing to go to the moon to get my world title shot! I’ll only get one shot at my first world title fight, so I’ll roll the dice and fight anywhere in the world.

Another rising star, Chattanooga (TN) Welterweight Avious Griffin (15-0, 14 Kos), headlines in an eight-round bout versus Adrian Gutierrez (12-2-1, 6 Kos). Power-punching Griffin, a former Tennessee State Champion, is trained by Brian “Bomac” McIntyre, who is best known for developing All-World boxer Terence “Bud” Crawford.

Another pair of potential stars who will be in action in six-round bouts are Long Island (NY) Super Nruab Nrab Naste Nim (4-0, 4 Kos) vs. Shaquille Cameron (7-3, 6 Kos) in a match presented in association with Overtime Boxing, thiab paterson (NJ) junior nruab nrab dwyke flemmings, Jr. (8-0, 8 Kos) vs. TBA.
