BUCHINGER (32-6-0, M-1: 7-2-0), ġlieda kontra l tas-Slovakkja, captured the M-1 Challenge featherweight title on October 17, 2014, stopping Tural Ragimov on punches in the fourth round, in the M-1 Challenge 52 Ġlieda tal-Lejl. Buchinger retained his title for more than three years, losing his title belt last Novembru 24 fil M-1 Isfida 86, when he was knockout by punches in the opening round by Khamzat Dalgiev.

“I did not suffer any injuries,” Buchinger reflected on his loss to Dalgiev. “Physically I felt good, but I was extremely disappointed because my opponent was so lucky to deliver a nice punch. It was just a lucky punch that knocked me out. Everything went as planned up until that moment, when I made a single fatal mistake. He was lucky that night, bit I don’t want to belittle Khamzat’s skills. He’s an excellent fighter and a great person.

“Would I win a rematch? I don’t want to make any predictions but, if we fight for the second time, we will see who is going to be the winner. But I am sure that I am a better fighter than him. Real champions do not care about who they fight, so I will fight any opponent to get my belt back. Everybody knows who the true champion is, hekk, as soon as I have an opportunity to win the title, I’ll do it.”

The road back to the top for Buchinger will not be easy. Russu Mikhail Ragozin (9-3-0), M-1: 2-1-0) knocked out American Joseph “Leonidas” Henle (10-3-1, M-1: 1-1-0), who made his M-1 Global debut, on punches in the third round of the co-featured event that was contested at a 196-pound catchweight.

SAINT PETERSBURG, Russja (Novembru 20, 2017) – M-1 Global holds one of its final events of the year nhar il-Ġimgħa lejl, featuring M-1 Challenge featherweight champion John “Dan huwa l-” BUCHINGER in his title defense against challenger Khamzat Dalgiev in the M-1 Challenge 86: Battle of the Narts in Ingushetia, Russja.

M 1 Isfida 86 will showcase MMA fighters from 12 pajjiżi differenti: Russja, USA, Slovakkja, Finlandja, Kanada, Franza, Brażil, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Ukraina, Azerbaijan and Georgia.

BUCHINGER (32-5-0, M-1: 7-1-0), ġlieda kontra l tas-Slovakkja, captured his M-1 Challenge featherweight title more than three years ago, meta hu knocked out Rali Nizami in the fourth round of their M 1 Isfida 52 Ġlieda tal-Lejl, also held in Ingushetia. Buchinger has made two title defenses, winning a five-round unanimous decision over Mansour Barnaoui fi M 1 Isfida 62 Ottubru 10, 2016, as well as in his last action this past June at M 1 Isfida 80 Ċina, at which he locked in a choke to defeat Timor Nagibin by fourth-round submission this past June.

After losing his pro debut, Dalgiev (9-1-0, M-1: 6-1-0), tar-Russja, has reeled-off nine consecutive victories to position himself as the top M-1 Global featherweight contender. In his last fight Dalgiev submitted Dragan Pesic fi M 1 Isfida 79 with a heel hook and before that at M 1 Isfida 73, he earned a bonus Submission of the Night, using a choke to force Christian Holley into a second-round submission (see picture below).

Fil-każ ko dehru, to be contested at a 196-pound catch-weight, Russian favorite Mikhail Ragozin (8-3-0, M-1: 2-1-0) takes on debuting M-1 Global American, Joseph “Leonidas” Henle (10-2-1, M-1: 0-0-0).

Also scheduled to fight on the M-1 Challenge 86 main card are Finnish lightweight Aleksi Mantykivi (10-4-0, M-1: 0-0-0) vs. Russu Bashir Gagiev (5-2-0, M-1: 2-0-0), Canadian bantamweight Chris “L-Assassin Grieg” Kelades (11-3-0, M-1: 0-0-0), also making his M-1 Global debut, vs. Russu Oleg Lichkovakha (8-1-0, M-1: 1-0-0), and Brazilian featherweight Diego Davella (18-6-1, M-1: 1-1-1) vs. Busurmankut Abdibait Uulu (8-2-1, M-1: 0-0-1), tal Kirgistan.
