Match-ups Announced for Undefeated Fighters for Rumble at the Rock V at Hard Rock Event Center at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Kaszinó Hollywoodban, FLA. pénteken, Május 10

Making his second cruiserweight battle, fan favorite “Bad” Blake Davis (1-0) from Cooper City, Fla., will look to thrill fans when he faces Quintell Thompson (2-7-1, 2 KO) A Columbia, Mo., over four rounds.

WBO #2 Espinoza Annihilates Vargas in Two Brutal Rounds

 

Mexico’s Ricardo “Hindu” Espinoza (21-2, 18 KO) made the most of his Telemundo appearance in the main event of “Rumble at the Rock III,” tonight (Péntek, November. 30), a Hard Rock Event Center -ben a Seminole Hard Rock Hotelben & Kaszinó Hollywoodban, Fla., by destroying previously undefeated Yeison Vargas (17-1, 12 KO) of Colombia in two rounds

 

 

 

After an uneventful first round, Espinoza impressively opened up and dropped Vargas three times in the second. In the process, Espinoza, the streaking WBO #2 versenyző, picked up a TKO 2 and the WBO Latino Bantamweight Championship. Having never left his homeland for a fight before, Vargas seemed unprepared for the brutal power of Espinoza’s hooks and right hands. The time was 1:19.

Cuevas is a wicked puncher. Prescott was down in round one from a thudding left hook and was saved by the bell from a quick KO loss. What followed over the next nine rounds was a clinic from the surprisingly elusive 24-year-old Cuevas on hitting, kemény, and not getting hit back.

 

 

 

Always a warrior, the battle-proven Prescott tried for the entire fight, but simply couldn’t reach Cuevas with anything consequential. Cuevas looks to have the goods to continue to climb the 147-lb ladder into contender status. The scores were not announced.

 

 

 

Popular Miami light heavyweight Ulysses Diaz (7-0, 6 KO) was too much for Sonora, Mexico’s Fabian Valdez (3-5), as he stopped him in two rounds of a scheduled four. “The Monster” Diaz, a serious crowd favorite in South Florida, clubbed Valdez with his trademarked sledgehammers, sending the hapless Mexican reeling around the ring until the slaughter was mercifully waved off at 49 másodperc. Valdez was down from a body shot in round one.

 

 

 

Miami lightweight Manuel Correa (3-0, 2 KO) pounded out a brutal unanimous (40-36 x 3) four-round decision over Dustin Arnold (6-2, 1 KO) of Coral Springs, Florida.

 

 

 

Lacking the power to get the relentlessly energized fists of Correa away from him, Arnold did well to survive the onslaught. His face didn’t feel so lucky though, as he was reduced to a bloody mask during the carnage. Correa is a pitbull worth having another look at. The normally capable Arnold will have to improve his power to compete with savagery of the type that fighters like Correa can generate.

 

 

 

Miami welterweight Livan Navarro (10-0, 6 KO) scored an entertaining fourth-round knockout (54 másodperc) over Colombian veteran Wilfrido Buelvas (19-11, 13 KO). The pair of sluggers traded free-swinging haymakers throughout. Buelvas even looked to have hurt Navarro in the second, de, eventually, Navarro’s superior power took over and that was it for the Colombian from Barranquilla.

 

 

 

Buelvas went down twice in round three and twice more in round four, the final time for the full 10 count.

 

 

 

In an eight-round super featherweight bout, former top-ranked veteran Mike “Machine Gun” Oliver (26-10-1, 8 KO) of Hartford showed the ravages of time, as he flopped twice and quit in the first round against Miami’s undefeated featherweight Hairon “El Maja” Socarras (20-0-3, 12 KO). What would have been an entertaining scrap a few years ago was more of a sad exhibition as Oliver dropped from the two punches he caught and elected to quit after the second “knockdown.” The time was 50 másodperc.

 

 

 

All-action Miami featherweight Jessy Cruz (15-7-1, 6 KO) continued his winning streak with a four-round beatdown of Mexican veteran Isaias Martin Cardona (25-15, 17 KO). Cardona, a showboating type, was down in round, egy, three and four. After the fourth, saner heads prevailed, and he was prevented from coming out for the fifth. The official verdict was a TKO 5 (0:01).

 

 

 

Miami via Cuba’s hard-punching super middleweight Irosvani Duvergel (5-0, 3 KO) stayed undefeated by making quick work of Miami’s Yendris Rodriguez Valdez (2-3, 2 KO) TKO útján 1 (1:46). Colombian bantamweight Yeison “El Mulo” Vargas will be experiencing a number of career firsts in the Hard Rock Event Center at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Kaszinó Hollywoodban, Florida, and live on Boxeo Telemundo, pénteken, November 30.

 

 

 

That’s when Cartagena’s undefeated Vargas (17-0, 12 KO) will face Mexico’s Ricardo Espinoza (21-2, 18 KO) for the WBO-NABO Championship in the 10-round main event of promoter Kris Lawrence and The Heavyweight Factory’s (in association with All Star Boxing) “Rumble at the Rock III” event.

 

 

 

In the first important crossroads fight of his three-year career, Vargas be fighting for the first time outside his homeland, and also having his first fight under The Heavyweight Factory promotional banner.

 

 

 

To prepare, Vargas has spent training camp working with well-known Florida-based trainer Herman Caicedo in Miami. “This is the best training camp I’ve ever had,” said Vargas. “I’m learning so many new skills and different techniques from Herman. I feel so good, I can’t wait to hear the bell ring.”

 

 

 

28-year-old Vargas, the current Colombian Champion, says he’s ready for a gritty battle if that’s what it takes against Espinoza, the WBO Latino Bantamweight Champion. “I know he’s a good fighter and that he won’t lay down. He will be there to win too, and I need to be impressive in beating him. I also know he’s a big puncher. That’s what I like to hear. We can go to war.”

 

 

 

Vargas says he hooked up with the Hollywood, Florida-based Heavyweight Factory through his manager Angel Villegas and is hoping to start cultivating a fan-base in Florida, and because of the TV exposure, Észak Amerika.

 

 

 

“This is my most important fight yet,” said Vargas. “Winning this fight means climbing the ladder in the United States. That’s been my dream since I started boxing. I want the fans to know I’m going to put on an exciting performance for them, so they remember my name.”

Yeison Vargas, 28, goes by the ring name “El Mulo” and is the current Colombian Bantamweight Champion. He won the title in his last fight, a KO 2 over Mauricio Fuentes in April. In his three-year professional career, the undefeated Vargas has also held the Colombian Super Bantamweight Championship. He stands 5 feet 5 ½ inches tall and knocks out 71 percent of his opponents.

 

 

 

“I want to thank Kris Lawrence of The Heavyweight Factory and my manager, Angel, for putting this deal together for me,” said Vargas. “They call me the mule ‘El Mulo.’ I am an action fighter with concrete in my fists. I respect Ricardo, but come Nov. 30, I’m going to knock him out on national television. Don’t blink.”

 

 

 

Ricardo Espinoza, 21, goes by the ring name “Hindu.” He will be looking to continue the momentum he started in his last fight by knocking out crowd favorite Daniel Lozano in two rounds last August in Tampa. The nationally televised destruction of Lozano won him the WBO Latino Bantamweight title. Espinoza stands 5 feet 7 inches tall and knocks out 78 percent of his opponents.

 

 

 

“I am coming to Florida once again to show the world that Mexico is above Colombia in boxing, and I am coming to take his undefeated record away,- mondta Espinoza. “I want to become a household name and shine on Telemundo. NICE, Kalifornia. Prescott was unable to recover as he beat the count narrowly but was on shaky ground. He hit the canvas two more times, both ruled pushes by the referee before a hard combination by Ghvamichava in the corner forced referee Michael Margado to stop the fight at 2:37 of round seven.

Hernandez and Hill went back and forth from start to finish in the first eight round bout of either prospect’s career. Hill looked to dictate the action with his jab and body work, but it was Hernandez who had more success throughout the night with his left hand and various uppercuts.
The sixth round saw Hill lose a point early on in the round for a low blow. The deduction clearly increased the urgency in Hill who pressed forward, delivering the best action of the fight. Hill pushed the pace but Hernandez withstood the strong combinations and repeatedly caught Hill with strong left hands. Outside of staggering Hill once early in the seventh round, both fighters continued to throw hard punches all the way to the final bell.
The punch stats reflected the close nature of the fight as Hernandez out landed Hill 161 hogy 157 while it was Hill who had the slight edge in accuracy, leszállás 33 percent of his punches to 31 percent for Hernandez. The opening bout of the telecast saw middleweight prospect Malcolm McAllister (8-0, 8 KO) remain unbeaten with a stoppage victory over Gilberto Yoruba (7-3, 4 KO). Yoruba did not come out for the eighth and final round after McAllister dominated the first seven rounds of the fight.
McAllister controlled the fight by working off of his strong jab with powerful right hands and hooks to the body. Yoruba continued to come forward throughout the fight, wildly throwing numerous overhand rights looking to stun the undefeated prospect.
After staggering Yoruba several times in round four, McAllister really began to do damage when he teed off on Yoruba with multiple unanswered shots to close out the frame. The one-sided action showed in the punch stats as McAllister out landed Yoruba 184 hogy 76 eventually leading to a frustrated Yoruba being deducted a point in round six for low blows.

On making his television debut on FS1 and FOX Deportes…
“This is the opportunity I’ve been waiting for since I turned professional. I know I have to perform at a high level to prove I’m worthy of more TV dates. FS1 is where a lot of fights are on these days so I’m very appreciative to the PBC and FOX for giving me a chance to showcase my talent. Everyone can expect to see me go to war, and I’m going to leave everything in the ring, that you can guarantee.”
On his current training camp…
“This has been a wild camp. I got great sparring at Wild Card with Hugo Centeno and a few others. I had to travel outside of my area to get the sparring I needed to prepare me for this fight. I’m in the best shape of my life at the moment and I’m looking to be peaking on fight night. Everything is perfect right now.”
On facing undefeated fighter Thomas Hill…
“I know he’s a tall fighter with really good boxing skills, so I’ll be prepared for his movement. He’s undefeated as well so I know it’s going to be a great fight. These are the fights that take you to the next level. One of us is going to advance in their career and the other will suffer a setback. I’m coming to win.”
On his relationship with his father/trainer Joey Hernandez…
“My dad has been with me since the beginning. We know how to work with each other. He’s made a lot of sacrifices to get me where I’m at today. Of course we butt heads sometimes but at the end of the day, I know he’s got my back. We are on this journey together and I’m grateful for all that he’s done for me. We are a great team.”
On the importance of staying undefeated…
“It’s very important for my career to remain undefeated. A win will keep me in the mix as far as fighting on big cards, especially on TV. This is a major crossroad in my career and the time is now for me to take it to the next level. I need to win this bout and march up the rankings, guaranteeing me more big fights.”

“I’ve been training hard already and I’m 100 percent ready for war,” said Prescott. “I don’t know a lot about this guy, but I’ll figure him out in the ring quickly. I like fighting on short notice. I beat Roberto Garcia on short notice so fighting this guy will not be a problem.”

A standout amateur representing Colombia, Prescott fights out of Miami and was undefeated in his first 21 pro csaták, including a first round knockout of former world champion Amir Khan that cemented his spot in the sport. The 33-year-old also owns victories over Richar Abril, Jose Augustin Feria and Francisco Figueroa and enters this fight having won his last two fights heading into this Július 12 leszámolás.
