Perkins and Andreozzi are throwback fighters who could fight in a proverbial phone booth, providing non-stop action in an entertaining, competitive encounter for a regional title.

Andreozzi, ee Swansea (MA), who is a former Massachusetts Middleweight Champion, has overcome a serious injury to become a title challenger. He broke his lower leg that resulted in 2 major surgeries that kept him sidelined for a full year. Andreozzi is back, hungry and ready for Perkins.

“I trusted the process,” Ramirez explained. “It was emotional when my original opponent pulled out of the fight so late and I didn’t know if I’d be fighting. I’m happy I got the fight, even if I had to open the show, because I’ve learned to embrace the opportunity. I trained to fight a 5’ 2”, righty and fought a southpaw. I was comfortable, regardless, because I prepare at camp for anything that may happen. I wanted the fight and gave him (Morales) two passes on weight. He was coming in heavy; si, we agreed to fight at a 120-pound catchweight. Before he stepped on the scale, he said he weighed 121.6. I didn’t want him to be fined for coming in overweight because he was doing me a favor by taking the fight. I respect him for taking the fight on late notice and we changed the contract to 121.6. Nothing changed for me other than the opponent and opening the preliminaries. Time is money, and I wanted everything I had done to count like camp (expenses), resources I used, mileage on my body. Everything happens for a reason. There are six months left in 2025, and my goal is to have two more fights.”

The 29-year-old Ramirez is world rated at No. 1 in WBA ah, iyo sidoo kale No. 12 iyo No. 15, siday u kala horreeyaan, by Boxing Adduunka Council (WBC) and WBO.Fernando Daniel Martinez (16-0, 9 KOs), of Argentina, is the reigning WBA Super Flyweight World Champion, David Jimenez (17-1, 11 KOs) remains the WBA Interim Champion.

“I’m back where I left off (Ha. 1 darajada),” Ramirez said. “After my last fight I was No. 2, ‘Chocolatito’ (Roman Gonzalez) was on top. And before this coming fight, I wanted to go up to No. 1 ka dibna, a little while ago, I saw that I was back at No. 1. It’s a good feeling to have put myself back where I was. At this point, I have power and leverage. They may want me to fight a rematch with Jimenez, who is still the (WBA) Interim champion but we’ll see how everything plays out. Fighting out of South Central Los Angeles, “Scrappy” hasn’t fought since last December 14th when he decisioned previously undefeatedEphraim Bui (10-0) by tiro 97-93 saddex jeer. In Ramirez’ previous fight in April of 2024, “Scrappy” had suffered the lone loss of his pro career to Jimenez for the WBA Interim Super Flyweight crown.

“I’m hungry! I feel like I’ve been locked up in a cage. I’m happy to be back to the spot I had before.,” Ramirez continued. ”I’m ignoring distractions and continue to work on my craft and self-discipline. I know my opportunity (world title shot) will come. Even when I didn’t know who my opponent would be or even if I’d fight (Saturday this), I just let that go and kept training hard to keep improving.

“Everything is based on my confidence. Waxaan weli barashada shaqada. I like to compare it to when I played football, my level of confidence, because I knew what that was all about for me. I’ve gained that same level of experience in the ring, when to or when not to do something that I’ve learned through my experiences. I kept on the right path, and now I have my old football comfort and understanding. People compared me with fighters who’ve fought their whole lives, but I didn’t make my pro debut until December of 2020. I started late (ee feerka) and I’m still learning and figuring things out.”

Illeen, ‘Scrappy’ has been an adaptive learner who resents being called by some as ahyped-up fighter, primarily because of his commitment and sacrifices he’s made to be the all-around fighter he has become.

“I know I have the skills to be world champion,” Ramirez concluded. “I like to fight and prove people wrong. I train to learn how to perform better. I’m in a great spot. I know I need to keep winning and that my opportunity will come. I’m only really thinking about this fight as I glimpse a little into my future.”

Riverside, SIDA. – July 1, 2025 -Hard-hitting Mexican contenderAngel “Tashiro” Fierrosent a direct message to his compatriot and rivalIsaac “Pitbull” Cruzduring a tense face-to-face at the Los Angeles press conference in June to announce their rematch, and has continued to express his ire toward Cruz as we near their showdown on Saturday, July 19 as part of a PBC Pay-Per-View event on Prime Video from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

“When I say something to him, like I did at that press conference, I follow through,” said Fierro. “I promised I would show him that I’m elite and this fight will be more of the same. I have no respect for ‘Pitbull’ Cruz. He doesn’t intimidate me and he’s an ordinary fighter. He’s a human and he gets tired too. I stayed true to myself when I told him I’m coming for war.”

The biggest change for Fierro since the first showdown is the addition of famed trainer Robert Garcia, who has led his training camp and will do the same for his corner on July 19. By joining forces with Garcia, Fierro believes he’s unlocked a better version of himself that he’ll display in the rematch.

“It’s been a tough camp,” said Fierro. “I’ve never trained with this much intensity before. Robert Garcia and the whole team has been excellent. We’ve made changes to my sparring sessions and I believe we’re going to deliver a great result.

“I’ve gone through changes physically, mentally and nutritionally. It’s going to make me formidable. I’m in the best shape of my life and my diet is on point. I’m not worried about making weight and that’s how an elite fighter should come into a fight.”

The Tijuana-native’s first fight against Cruz was a tale of two halves, as Cruz controlled the early rounds before Fierro appeared to turn the tide, out landing his opponent 132 si ay u 106 across the final five frames. While he believes he’ll be even better on July 19, Fierro is confident that he proved his elite status in the first fight, even if Cruz doesn’t.

“I’ve worked on myself and correcting the mistakes I made in the first fight that would have changed the outcome,” said Fierro. “Robert Garcia is very experienced and I watched the fight with him to work on what I need to do to win this time.

“I didn’t keep my hands up 100% of the time like I needed to. That was the main mistake at the time. ‘Pitbull’ underestimated me – and still does- but I already showed him that I’m not middling fighter. I proved I’m elite and now I’m working twice as hard.”

In addition to showing Cruz his level, Fierro believes that he took advantage of the big stage in February on the undercard of David Benavidez vs. David Morrell Jr. to show the Mexican people that he was a true contender. With that extra motivation, he’s promised to show that he will be the next big star to take off from the boxing-rich country.

“At the beginning of the fight, people looked at me like I was a nobody,” said Fierro. “But by the halfway point, I felt a shift, and people were already seeing me as a big-time fighter. I felt like Rocky in Russia! I proved that I’m not just a talker. I’m a true Mexican…We’re two Mexicans with pride on the line and looking to show who the next great Mexican boxing star will be. I’m fighting to bring honor to my country.”

Having already delivered a fight that’s garnering early Fight of the Year consideration, Fierro has promised to deliver even more action the second time around, and perhaps bring back memories of Fierro’s personal favorite all-Mexican rematch Marco Antonio Barrera vs. Erik Morales II.

“You’re going to see a different ‘Tashiro’ and it’s going to be an even better war than the first one,” said Fierro. “The fans will be on their feet from the very first round. I will beat ‘Pitbull’ – no matter what. He better prepare well and I think he will, because deep down he knows what he’s up against.”

Reminder: Undefeated Russian super middleweight Petr “The Surgeon” Khamukov to headline This Friday in Long Beach on DAZN

Los Angeles (June 16, 2025) - Often avoided Russian super middleweight Petr “The Surgeon” Khamukov (13-0, 6 KOs) will headline “LA Friday Night Fights”, presented by Paco Presents and Golden Boy Promotions, against David “Dynamite” Stevens (14-2, 10 KOs) this week in Long Beach, California.


Khamukov faces Stevens, who was a standout amateur boxer out of Pennsylvania, haddii ay dhacdo weyn ee 10-wareega. “LA Friday Night Fights” will be streamed live this Friday on DAZN from Thunder Studios.


A promotional free agent who now resides in Woodland Hills (SIDA), Khamukov had 350 amateur matches, represented Russia in the 2016 Olympics, and he was the only Russian to qualify for the same Olympics in two weights classes (middleweight and light heavyweight). He captured gold medals at the 2015 European Championships and 2016 Russian National Championships.


Khamukov, 33, is excited to be fighting again, never mind headlining, because he has had a difficult time securing fights prior to recently signing a managerial contract with 3 Point Management (3 PM). Khamukov’s last fight was 13 bilood ka hor, when he knocked out Esau Herrera de la Cruz (21-16-1) wareegii saddexaad.


“It was a real challenge, both physically and mentally,” Khamukov spoke about his absence from the ring. “As they say, the darkest night is followed by the brightest dawn. In his most recent fight last November in Las Vegas, the 24-year-old Stevens lost a 12-round split decision to Bektemir Melikuziev (14-1, 10 KOs). Stevens’ most impressive performance to date was an 8-round stoppage of then 14-0 Sean Hemphill in 2023.

Four Boxers Advance to Gold Medal Matches on Day Three of World Boxing Challenge Grand Prix Usti Nad Labem

Four Team USA Boxers Close Friday With Bronze Medals

USTI NAD LABEM, Czech Republic (June 13, 2025) -Team USA tied a bow on day three of the World Boxing Challenge Grand Prix Usti Nad Labem 2025 with four boxers earning bronze medals and four more athletes advancing to the gold medal rounds. Yoseline Perez (Haweenka 54 kg), Alyssa Mendoza (Haweenka 57 kg), Malachi Georges (Ragga 90 kg) and Kelvin Watts (Ragga 90+ kg) stamped won on Friday. Looking ahead to Saturday’s finals action, Team USA will see five boxers contesting for gold medals at the World Boxing Challenge.

Rene Camacho (Ragga 65 kg), Robby Gonzales (Ragga 80 kg), Jajaira Gonzalez (Haweenka 60 kg) and Morelle McCane (Haweenka 65 kg) concluded their respective weeks with bronze medals on Friday. McCane’s latest bronze marks her second internationally this year, following her outing at the World Boxing Cup: Brazil 2025. Camacho finished his impressive week with his first Elite international medal after two wins in three appearances. Gonzalez secured her medal in her first international competition of 2025, while Gonzales finished the week with a 1-1 record for his first podium placement of the year.

Mendoza nabbed a 4-1 statement victory over Brazil’s Jucielen Romeo, avenging her loss to the Brazilian at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. In addition to her latest victory, the Caldwell, Idaho, native also defeated Hungary’s Vladislava Kukhta on Thursday. Following Saturday’s performance, Mendoza has guaranteed herself at least a silver medal. She will now take on Mongolia’s Michidmaa Erdenedalai on Saturday in bout four.

"Waxaan dareemayaa weyn,” Mendoza stated. “It was definitely a really tough bout, someone that I’ve shared the ring with before [kaas oo] always a tough competitor but we were able to pull off the victory today. I’m feeling good and we’re going into the silver and gold match tomorrow.”

Perez advances to the gold medal match in the women’s 54-kg division after garnering her second 5-0 decision of the week, this time against Hungary’s Hanna Lakotar. She will now compete in her second gold medal bout of the year and is riding a wave of confidence heading into her final matchup of the week. She will square off against England’s Charley Davidson in bout three.

Among the Team USA men’s contenders, Georges continued his remarkable week with a 4 1 win over Moldova’s Andrei Zaplitnii on Friday. In his two bouts, Georges has consistently dominated from the opening bell and enforced his powerful game on his foes. He will take on Brazil’s Isaias Filho in bout 18.

“I feel good,” said Georges. “I’m making it deep in this tournament. I’m here for the gold. Berri, I’ve got a guy, celis, he thinks he’s better than me, but he just caught me at a time when I wasn’t where I need to be mentally. But I’m going to show him tomorrow. We’re on to the next one, getting that gold.”

Watts opened his tournament on Friday against Mexico’s Alejandro Cruz and imposed his size and power from the beginning of the bout. The super heavyweight has been hard at work this year and is guaranteed at least a silver medal at the World Boxing Challenge. Watts is focused on closing his week strong against Italy’s Diego Lenzi, a Paris 2024 Cayaaraha olombikada, in bout 19.

Camacho, Gonzalez each earn 3-2 victories on tournament’s opening day
USTI NAD LABEM, Czech Republic (June 11, 2025) - Jajaira Gonzalez (Women’s 60 kg) and Rene Camacho (Men’s 65 kg) each captured 3-2 wins in their tournament debuts Wednesday at the World Boxing Challenge Grand Prix Usti Nad Labem 2025.

The pair were the lone Team USA athletes in competition on day one of the tournament, and following their victories, they now advance to the quarterfinal rounds of their respective brackets.

Gonzalez (Glendora, Message.) closed out her 2025 international debut in style with a 3-2 victory over Croatia’s Sara Beram. Following the victory, Gonzalez will take on Italy’s Rebecca Nicoli in the quarterfinals of the women’s 60kg division. A second win at the tournament for the Glendora, Message., native will guarantee her a medal at the event; Si kastaba ha ahaatee, she remains persistent in capturing the gold medal in her 2025 international debut tournament.

“First time fighting international since the Games,” said Gonzalez after her victory. “I felt a little rusty, but of course, it’s the first day. Back at it again tomorrow, and it’s going to be better tomorrow.”

Camacho (Houston, Texas) entered the ring with confidence for his Team USA international debut. After listening to the opening bell and stepping out to throw the first punch of the bout, Camacho closed the door on any questions about whether or not he was ready for the international stage. Camacho shined under the lights and ultimately secured a 3-2 win over Hungary’s Milan Petriman.

“Feeling good, feeling good. I got the dub,” said Camacho of his win over Hungary on the opening day of the tournament. “We’re taking it all the way to the gold. We’re not going for anything less. Win, badisay, win and win again!"

Thursday’s competition will feature nine boxers from the United States, beginning with Orlando Zamora (Turlock, Message. | 55kg) in Ring B, bout five, against Brazil’s Michael Douglas Trindade, a Paris 2024 Cayaaraha olombikada.

Thomas Covington (Detroit, i. | 60kg) will make his international debut in Ring B, bout eight, against Brazil’s Luiz Gabriel Oliveira, another Paris 2024 Cayaaraha olombikada, who fell to the USA’s Jahmal Harvey last summer in Paris.

Gonzalez will return to action for her quarterfinal bout in Ring A, dhamaadka 20, against her Italian foe. Morelle McCane will then make her tournament debut and close out the action for the USA women in Ring A, dhamaadka 23, against Switzerland’s Anna Julia Jenni.

In the final bout of the day for Team USA is Robby “Rahim” Gonzales, who will square off against Austria’s Lucky Aimufua in Ring A, dhamaadka 28. Gonzales will aim to open his tournament contention with a bang in the 80kg division and will need three wins to earn a gold medal.

Pryce is Right again for undefeated Brooklyn heavyweight Pryce Taylor

MAGAALADA NEW YORK (June 11, 2025) – Immediately after last Friday night’s impressive fourth-round stoppage of Ed “Tex” Fountain, Brooklyn’s undefeated Pryce Taylor (8-0, 5 KOs) was called America’s best heavyweight prospect by his promoter, Dmitriy Salita (Dalacaad Salita).

The 28-year-old Taylor and his manager, New York City-based Attorney Keith Sullivan, agree with Salita.

“They’re (Salita and Sullivan) both right,” Taylor said, “because they’ve seen me fight. Fighting brings the dog out in me. Wuxuu (Isha) was a test, real resilient, but like a punching bag that’s ready to fall off the chain. I had to keep hitting him and no way was he thinking about playing it safe. The referee saved his life; he was thinking about not falling down.”

The powerful Taylor entered the ring paying tribute to the late, great George Foreman by wearing a “Big George” T-shirt. Prior to the fight, Taylor noted that he had great success in the pro ranks fighting southpaws like Fountain. Taylor methodically ripped his opponent’s head and body with damaging punches, hurting Fountain in the third round with a straight right-left hook combination, followed by a barrage of shots on the sturdy Fountain who managed to survive the round.

Isha (14-9, 7 KOs), who was the best fighter the 6’ 4”, 280-pound Taylor had fought in the pro ranks, was rocked from another series of violent combinations, when referee Charlie Fitch had seen enough and waved off the fight 36-seconds into the fourth frame.The fight was a scheduled 6-rounder on the “International Boxing Hall of Fame Night,” presented by Taylor’s promoter Salita Promotions, at Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York.

“I was excited to be fighting on a show like that,” Taylor added. “He hit me first in the first round, something I always let my opponents do to test their power, gauge patterns, and figure him out. It’s like in baseball when a batter lets a pitch go by without swinging to see what he has on the mound. Because he’s a southpaw, his right is his jab, and he really wanted to use his left power hook. He had a good poker face, but he couldn’t hide it when I hurt him. He tried not showing he was fazed, keeping himself upright, but he felt my power. I like being accurate, especially throwing power punches. I punished him at the end, throwing a body shot, an uppercut, and then two right hooks.”

“I thought George Foreman would have been proud of me and maybe thought he was seeing himself fight when he saw me punch. I put on a show. I’m a combination of Foreman and Muhammad Ali; power punching like Foreman, elusive like Ali with good footwork and light on my toes.

“I’m not sure if this was the best fight of my career, but he was my best opponent and the toughest guy I’ve fought. He came into the ring in good shape and tried to fight. His downfall was Pryce Being Right mar kale. I love throwing my straight right and that keeps opening up my left hook to the body.”

Taylor had a 60-11 record hiwaayadda, including a pair of New York Golden Gloves titles, and he was the heavyweight runner-up four times in the prestigious USA Boxing National Championship tournaments. “Pryce’s TKO win was exactly what I expected – dominant, calculated, and explosive,” Sullivan remarked. “He’s not just another prospect; with continued work, he can be the next great American heavyweight. With every fight, he’s proving that he has the tools, the discipline, and the mindset to be a force within this division. We’re building something special, and the world’s about to see it.”

Taylor will be fighting next in his first scheduled 8-round bout on July 26 in Detroit on a Salita Promotions card headlined by undisputed World Heavyweight Champion Claressa Shields (16-0, 3 KOs) versus Lani Daniels (11-2-2, 1 KO) at Little Caesars Arena. Sullivan, a former Deputy Commissioner for the NYS Athletic Commission, also manages 3-time, 2-division World Champion Miyo Yoshida (18-5) and Bronx NYPD Officer Nisa Rodriguez (3-1, 1 KO), as well as co-managing world-rated (IBF #3 & WBA #10) welterweight contender Paddy “The Real Deal” Donovan (14-1, 11 KOs), from Limerick, Ireland. Kansas super middleweight prospect Marco “El Tiburón” Romero goes back to the future this Saturday in Portland, Maine

Magaalada Kansas, May. (June 9, 2025) - Kansas boxing phenom Marco “El Tiburon” Romero (7-0, 6 KOs) started his pro career a year ago on Father’s Day Weekend in Portland, Maine, and he returns there this Saturday night for his third fight in The Forest City.

Despite the Cross Insurance Arena being more than 1,500 miles from his home in Olathe, Kansas, the 19-year-old Romero feels that Portland has become his second home, where he kick-started his pro career, and has developed a surprisingly growing fan base.

Romero stopped Jonathan Gary (2-1) on June 15, 2024, in the second round at Cross Insurance Arena. Last October, Romero defeated Orlando Salgado (3-5) in Portland by way of a third-round technical knockout at the Exposition Building.

This Saturday the gifted super middleweight prospect faces “The Conqueror” Nafys Anas Garner (4-2, 3 KOs), fighting out of Sacramento (SIDA), in a scheduled 6-round bout at Cross Insurance Arena.

“I’m more motivated than ever and couldn’t be happier to see the plan unfolding like we talked about a couple of years ago with Coach John (Brown, manager/head trainer), Uncle Al (Valenti, advisor), my father (Salvatore Romero, Caawiyaha tababaraha) and Sergio (Ubax, Caawiyaha tababaraha).

“I’m ready and excited to be fighting again in Portland. I would love to bring a world title fight to Portland, where people appreciate good boxing.
