Don King Productions Announces October 4th Showdown Between WBA No. 1 Contender Michael Hunter & World Champion Kubrat Pulev

MIAMI, FLA. (Agosti 13, 2025)—The world’s greatest boxing promoter the legendaryDon King has announced a new date and location for the WBA Heavyweight World Championship featuring current championKubrat “The Cobra” Pulev to face off against No. 1-ranked WBA contenderMichael “The Bounty” Hunter.

The exciting night of fights will take place onOktoba 4at Miami’sJai-Alai Fronton Casino, King has announced, despite the threats of a lawsuit by Epic Sports and Entertainment representatives who King says continue to spread lies that Hunter is unavailable for this fight.

King, who in the spring won the $1.1 million purse bid by the WBA to stage the fight originally scheduled for August 23rd, said he still has a binding three-year contract with Hunter that was signed in February of 2024 and then was victorious in two consecutive appeals to the WBA by Epic Sports and Entertainment to prevent the fight from happening.

“The threats of lawsuits continues against the WBA by Epic Sports and Entertainment,” King said in a statement. “It’s all corruption, fraud, bribery, rigged schemes and crooked scams by Epic Sports appealing to the WBA for reconsideration of the WBA purse bid, for Pulev vs Hunter, which DKP won. Sasa, Epic Sports is trying to change and to nullify the bout. This clouds the atmosphere with lies and the deception of the truth, fake and false news.”

King continued: “The WBA honorably stood up for their rules and regulations and declared the purse bid valid and legitimate, as held, then Epic Sports and the WBA champion Kubrat Pulev made an appeal to change the meaning of the WBA rules and regulations…The WBA honorably denied the champion Kubrat Pulev and Epic Sports, then Epic Sports rewrote the purse bid contracts just as though they had won the purse bid, and asked the WBA to dishonorably and illegally grant their appeal.”

King said now that the WBA has made its decision to uphold the purse bid decision regarding Kubrat Pulev, kwamba, upon approval by the WBA, he has announced the October 4th date and Miami location for this fantastic heavyweight championship title bout to take place.

“However, John Wirt never stops in trying to prevent the bout, for the No. 1 contender Michael Hunter, not to fight. Now Epic Sports John Wirt and Ivaylo Gotzev are filing a lawsuit for the arbitrations against the WBA’s decisions of justice and fair play against their Epic Sports and Entertainment Company.

“However, DKP will not wait for that decision to come about. DKP will stand up and support the WBA’s honor and credibility in their decision for fair play and justice regarding the WBA purse bid situation. The credibility of the WBA is at stake.”

King said the October 4 card will also feature DKP fightersBlair "Flair" Cobbs, Adrien “The Problem” Broner and former WBC Cruiserweight World ChampionNoel Mikaelian.

Last weekend, DKP issued a cease-and-desist order to SELA and TKO Group Holdings, Inc, after it was reported that there was a fight in the works that would pit Hunter against Jarrell Miller on September 11th during the mega-fight week featuring Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford in Las Vegas.

Los Angeles Inner-City Legend Undefeated bantamweight prospect John “Scrappy” Ramirez Fighting at home for first time this Saturday

LOS ANGELES (Machi 17, 2022) – Undefeated Los Angeles bantamweight prospect John “Scrappy” Ramirez (8-0, 7 Kos) returns to the ring this Saturday (Sea. 19) to take on Roberto “Escorpion” Pucheta (10-20-3, 10 Kos), of Mexico, in a 6-round bout on the Blair Cobbs-Alexis Rocha card (replacing Vergil Ortiz, Jr.-Michael McKinson), presented by Golden Boy Promotions.

The main card will be streamed live on DAZN from USC Galen Center in Los Angeles; go to Golden Boy’s YouTube page to watch the Ramirez vs. Pucheta live stream.

Ramirez is an LA inner-city sports legend. His journey started on the gridiron, not in a ring, when he was a key member of the Lincoln High football team, profiled in a 2015 documentary, “ESPN 60: Letterman.” The players were from a crime-ridden section of Hollywood riddled with drugs and guns. Ramirez was a 5’ 4”, 160-pound running back on a team that, starting in Pop Warner competition, and advanced to Lincoln High, which hadn’t experienced success in football. Lincoln High went on to become a 3-time league champion, highlighted by its semi-final playoff appearance in his senior year, which eventually led “Scrappy” to a roster spot on the Los Angeles Valley College’s football team.

“The venue is only a five-minute drive from my home,” an excited Ramirez said. “I literally drive by it every day. I grew up around USC and played football there. Sasa, I’m fighting in the inner-city where I grew up. That’s pretty dope! My dream is to fight at Staples Center, which is only a three-minute drive for me. I’m getting closer.

“Things like this don’t happen by accident. On Machi 18th, I’ll showcase my skills in front of my people. LA is the City of Champions, but we haven’t had a world boxing champion since Oscar de la Hoya, who grew up in East LA. My goal is to be the next LA champ.”

 “Scrappy,” who was one of the most active fighters in 2021 with seven bouts, successfully transitioned from football to boxing, albeit a relatively short amateur boxing career with only 25 amateur matches. He did garner top honors in the Sugar Bert National Championships, as well as in the regional Golden Gloves and SoCal tournaments.

“I last fought on December 18th, took a week off, and went right back to training camp at Brickhouse Boxing Club (N. Hollywood),” the 26-year-old Ramirez added. “I’m getting better and that’s super exciting for me. I’ve been with my strength-and-conditioning coach, kukimbia, and working on my boxing skills. My training hasn’t stopped, it’s going full force.”

Pucheta has been stopped only once in 33 mapambano pro, back in 2016 by Emanuel Navarrete, the current World Boxing Organization (WBO) Super Bantamweight Champion, who sports a 35-1 (29 Kos) pro record.

“He’s a tough, durable opponent,” Ramirez noted, “who has been in the ring with a lot of good prospects. This is a great opportunity for me to make a statement by becoming only the second to knock him out.”

Ramirez’ accelerated pace and development continues this Saturday, when it’ll be “Scrappy Time” once again, only this time at home.

“I want to be at the top and will,” he concluded. “Every fight elevates me. My goal is to be No. 1 in my weight class, and I’ll get there because of my hard work and dedication.”

Undefeated title belt collector santiago “somer” dominguez plans to add welterweight strap to growing collection

UNBEATEN WELTERWEIGHT PROSPECT BLAIR “Flair” COBBS GEARING UP FOR LA FIGHT CLUB BOUT JULY 6

Blair will be making the move up to welterweight, where he will be campaigning moving forward in his career. At 6’0, Cobbs was struggling to make weight at 140 lbs. With the move, Cobbs feels he’ll be at his optimum weight class.

 

 

 

“I feel a lot stronger now that I’ve moved up in weight,” Alisema Blair Cobbs. “Fans can expect me to be a lot more explosive and electrifying. I need to make a statement in this fight to let the entire welterweight division know that I have arrived.”

SAN FRANCISCO, Kama vile (Aprili 9, 2018) – Prince Ranch Boxing (PRB) is happy to announce the signing of undefeated flyweight contender, Casey “The Lady Hawaiian Punch” Morton(7-0-3, 1 KO). Morton, who trains out of the SNAC Research & Training Facility owned by Victor Conte, is coached by Noninito Donaire Sr., father of 2012 Fighter wa Mwaka, Nonito Donaire Jr. Morton and Donaire Sr. have two fights together, and she couldn’t be happier.

 

 

 

“Working with Nonito Sr. has been a tremendous blessing to my career,” Morton aliendelea. “Although we’ve only been together for a couple of fights, I’ve learned so much in that short period of time. I’m starting to sit down on my punches, which has added a significant amount of power to my punches. We are working great together.”

 

 

 

In her last fight on March 25, 2018, Morton, with Donaire Sr. in her corner, traveled to Manila, Philippines, and captured the WBO Asia Pacific cheo, winning by a shutout unanimous decision against Nongmuay Kokietgym (13-4-3).
