Questa settimana al FNU Combat Sports Show, Psychic Tom and Rabble Rousin’ Rich start off with a great interview with pro boxer Anthony Laureano. The Connecticut professional boxer is coming off a big win on the undercard of the Joe Smith Jr. fight at the end of June. We also recap last week’s boxing and MMA action, highlighted by Daniel Cormier’s monumental win over Stipe Miocic to become the first two belt holder in the UFC since McGregor. Tony joins the broadcast after the Laureano interview to give his take on Brock’s return to the UFC after going back to the WWE at the end of his first UFC stint. We also touch upon the Danny O’Connor fight being called off due to severe dehydration suffered by O’Connor. Finalmente, we preview upcoming events and briefly discuss a rumored rematch between Vitali Klitschko and Lennox Lewis.

Questa settimana al FNU Combat Sports Show, Tom, Tony and Rich look back at Bellator 201, a new candidate for “Round the Year” in the Zappavigna/Saucedo fight, Golden Boy making moves in boxing and MMA, and the increasing push by streaming services to drain away the PPV dollar from sports fans. We start off discussing concussion symptoms that led to the withdrawal of Max Holloway from the co-main event of UFC 226 questa settimana.

Of course we also preview a huge weekend for the UFC with The TUF Finale tonight and the long-awaited UFC 226 main event of Stipe Miocic putting his heavyweight belt on the line against Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier.

Questa settimana al FNU Combat Sports Show, discutiamo delle ultime novità in MMA e boxe, riepilogare gli eventi della scorsa settimana e visualizzare in anteprima i prossimi eventi di questa settimana. Discutiamo anche di Walter “2 Pistole” Wright ha vinto il suo incontro principale contro Mark DeLuca un paio di giorni dopo che lo abbiamo intervistato la scorsa settimana. La vittoria della decisione divisa di Wright è arrivata in parte a causa di un jab persistente che ha frustrato DeLuca e lo ha lasciato insanguinato, contuso ed esausto dalla campana finale. Ovviamente sollevare questo fatto ci fa andare avanti sull'assoluta necessità del jab nella cassetta degli attrezzi di qualsiasi combattente di sport da combattimento.

Tra le novità tocchiamo:

Le voci sul prossimo combattimento di Manny Pacquiao con Lucas Matthysse sono in pericolo, Manny e il suo team dicono che tutto è sulla buona strada.

Johny “Big Rig” Hendricks si ritira (ha anche dimenticato di menzionare che anche Rashad Evans si è ritirato).

L'ultimo cast di The Contender Series, impostato per tornare questo mese di agosto 16 giovani pugili emergenti nella divisione 160 libbre.

La defezione di Lyoto Machida dall'UFC a Bellator e l'accordo di Bellator con DAZN, un servizio di streaming che sta lavorando per conquistare nuovi mercati quest'anno, compresi gli Stati Uniti e l'Italia.

(vedi locandina qui sotto) Questa settimana ci siamo incontrati con Walter prima ha fatto il viaggio ad est da Seattle. L'abbiamo intervistato per la grande lotta e discusso la sua carriera in generale. Abbiamo anche Ricostruito tutti gli eventi di pugilato e di MMA della scorsa settimana e fornito alcuni altri bocconcini di notizie come il rilascio del rimorchio Creed II e la sospensione di 30 giorni di Ronda Rousey dalla WWE. Tom, Tony and Rich have a ton of ground to cover in this episode. We recap last week’s most significant fights, starting with the first sanctioned bareknuckle boxing event in hundreds of years. We also break down the latest UFC Fight Night card where Jimmie Rivera took the first loss in his last 21 combattimenti. We discuss Dana White’s tirade against fighters who don’t take the fights the company wants them to, and we blast Canelo Alvarez and his team for destroying all chances of another fight with GGG. We take a good chunk of the show to outline and analyze all the various boxing matches taking place this Saturday, from Tyson Fury’s return to the ring against Sefer Seferi to the battle of pound for pound best and undefeated welterweights Jeremy Horn and Terrence Crawford fighting on ESPN+ (which we criticize heavily). We also touch on the debut card for PFL, a fight league where all the prize money comes at the end of the season. Finalmente, we preview UFC 225 and discuss CM Punk’s chances of proving himself a true cage fighter.

Questa settimana al FNU Combat Sports Show, Tom, Tony and Rich discuss a wide variety of topics. We start out with the ESPN/UFC broadcast rights deal for five years, 30 fight cards and $1.5 billion. We also discuss the infighting among boxing promoters lately with both Bob Arum and UK upstart Eddie Hearn scrambling to sign free agents while trying to fill slots for slated shows in the United States over the coming year. We go on to recap last week’s combat sports action, highlighting the Adonis Stevenson vs. Badou Jack majority draw and the Usman vs Maia 5-round snoozefest headlining last Saturday night’s UFC Fight Night card. We of course also preview this weekend’s boxing matches and the UFC and Bellator cards coming out of England. We even touch on the regulation of bareknuckle boxing and Bobby Gunn’s claim of no fatalities recorded in the sport. Lo spettacolo di sport da combattimento illimitato di questa settimana è una grande miscela di boxe e arti marziali miste. Tom, Tony e Rich coprono tutta l'azione dell'ultimo fine settimana e si meravigliano del maestro del suo mestiere che è Vasyl Lomachenko. Discutiamo di Chuck Liddell che esce dalla pensione con Golden Boy MMA, e Tito Ortiz prendono il dibattito per essere il suo primo avversario. Abbiamo anche un po 'di dibattito su Raquel Pennington che dice al suo angolo che voleva fare dopo il quarto round contro Amanda Nunes. I suoi allenatori la hanno convinta a continuare, che ha portato a maggiori perdite di sangue e danni al viso da parte di un avversario chiaramente più ipotecato e fresco. We start off with a discussion about Fedor Emelianenko’s demolition of Frank Mir in the latest installment of their heavyweight tourney. We go on to discuss the FBI’s shadowing of Fedor leading up to his fight last weekend. We discuss the big Cinco De Mayo boxing matches coming up this weekend and recap last week’s fights, including the ones Tony attended personally in Philadelphia. We also catch up on the latest TUF season featuring Daniel Cormier coaching against Stipe Miocic.
