The main event finds 23-year-old Mexican super middleweightManuel “El Meno” Gallegos (17-1, 15 КО) matched against his Las Vegas opponent, Кевін «другое прышэсце» Newman (11-2-1, 6 КО), in a 10-round bout.

Gallegos, who has stopped 15 pf his opponents in his 17 pro wins, is coming off his only loss as a pro last October, by way of an 8-round unanimous decision to 10-1-1 (7 КО) Oziel Santoyo.  Gallegos’ most impressive victory to date was an 8-round unanimous decision over 37-7Marco Reyes.  Upset-minded Newman has won four of his last five fights.

Vera vs. Pendarvis suddenly and surprisingly ended midway through the opening round, when Pendarvis (21-8-2, 9 КО), a former USBA champion, stopped throwing punches and went to his knees. He was counted out with what is believed to be a hand injury.

“Well,” Vera (20-1, 12 КО) said after the fight, “the way my fight ended was anticlimactic. I was feeling really good and calm in there. I was just finding my range, establishing my jab and calculating. He threw a jab to the body and I blocked it with my elbow. I felt his knuckle hit my elbow. The 10-round main event pits undefeated Californian Хуан “Just Business” Barajas (11-0, 7 КО) against Mexican knockout artist Bruno “Tiburon” Sandoval (21-4-1, 17 КО), for the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) Latino super middleweight title.
