LOS ANGELES – The co-main event of Bellator’s return to the “Fabulous” Forum in Inglewood, Calif. á jan. 26 will see reigning middleweight champion Gegard Mousasi (45-6-2) defend his title against undefeated Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt Rafael Lovato Jr. (9-0).

 

 

 

The main event of the card will feature the Finals of the Bellator Heavyweight World Grand Prix, where the greatest heavyweight of all-time Fedor Emelianenko (38-5, 1 NC) faces current light heavyweight champ Ryan Bader (26-5) for the Bellator world heavyweight title. Rafael Lovato Jr. will be making his sixth appearance for Bellator, a bout where not only will the 35-year-old’s unblemished mark of 9-0 be on the line, but also a world championship belt. Since signing with the Viacom-owned promotion in 2017, the Oklahoma City-based fighter has tallied five wins and four finishes, three of which came in the opening round, including his most recent submission win over top middleweight contender John Salter á Bellator 205. A fourth-degree black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, the former Legacy FC middleweight champ will finally have his shot at Bellator gold when he takes on current 185-pound champion Mousasi in the co-main event of Bellator’s return to Los Angeles on Jan. 26.

NEF FINISHES 2018 SEASON WITH SOLD-OUT EVENT IN PORTLAND

Skjóta losun: Portland, Maine (Nóvember 18, 2018) - New England Berst (NEF) held its most recent mixed-martial-arts event, “NEF 36: Battle for the Gold,” on Saturday night at Aura in Portland, Maine. The event officially sold-out days prior to doors opening. It was the fifth and final NEF event of the 2018 árstíð, and what many in attendance insisted was the standout show of the year.

Í helstu atburði, Ryan Sanders (18-9) put the NEF MMA Professional Lightweight Title on the line against Jacob Bohn (7-6). Sanders retained the championship after the cageside doctor stopped the fight due to a cut on Bohn’s head in the second round.

History was made when Ras Hylton (3-2) og Yorgan De Castro (3-0) faced off to crown the first-ever NEF MMA Professional Cruiserweight Champion in the co-main event. De Castro captured the strap in dramatic fashion with a violent first-round knockout of Hylton.

Matt Probin (3-0) made his long-awaited NEF debut against Lionel Young (7-16). Probin remained undefeated in his professional career when he forced a referee stoppage to strikes early in the second round.

In the opening fight of the evening, Taylor Thompson (3-0) og Catie Denning (1-1) waged an absolute war that had the entire crowd on its feet to kick off the amateur card. Thompson won a unanimous decision on the judges’ skorkort.

Later on in the amateur card, Megan Rosado (0-1) og Dýrð Watson (2-0) battled back and forth in another crowd-pleasing thriller that went the distance. Watson was victorious via split decision in a very close fight.

In the third and final women’s fight of the evening, Chelsea Tucker (1-3) picked up the first win of her amateur career with a late-fight technical knockout of BJ Garceau (1-1).

Zac Richard (3-0) remained undefeated with a first-round submission of Chris Lachcik (0-2). It was a fight that Richard had dedicated to the memory of his older sister Lacey who passed away from cancer six years ago this weekend at the age of 23.

Likewise, in a post fight interview, an emotional Henry Clark (5-4) dedicated his victory over Killian Murphy (1-2) to a friend of his named Justin who recently passed away.

NEF further announced that its next event, “NEF 37: SUB ZERO,” would originate from the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine on Friday, Febrúar 1, 2019. The main event will feature Josh “Hook On” Harvey (5-0-1) og Bill “Jonesi” Jones (13-11) squaring off for the vacant NEF MMA Professional Featherweight Title.

Aðeins Petje (36-6-1) hélt FFC Lightweight Kickboxing titlinum sínum með því að sigra mjög leikjaskorara, Bruno Gazani (60-7-0), með meirihluta jafntefli (47-47, 47-47, 46-48).

 

 

 

Eins og auglýst var, þessir tveir kappar (Gazani og Petje) fór tá til táar í mjög skemmtilegum aðalviðburði þar sem enginn skortur var á ánægjulegum hápunktum og spennandi augnablikum. Gazani steig fram og þrýsti á aðgerðirnar mestalla nóttina, nota trausta hnefaleikahæfileika sína sér til framdráttar. Petje var fær um að mæta með háum hné og grimmum líkamsspörkum sem leiddu að lokum til sigurs í meirihlutaákvörðuninni. Það leit út fyrir að Gazani hefði slegið Petje niður í fimmtu lotu en það var að lokum dæmt sem slipp.

Kevin “Þrumuveður” Johnson (6-1-0) fór vegalengdina með Ísak Luna (3-1-0) í ofurléttum hnefaleikum sínum. Lyklar unnu með einróma ákvörðun (59-55, 58-56, 59-55) í spennandi bardaga þar sem Luna hélt áfram að koma fram og neyddi Johnson til að taka þátt alla nóttina. Johnson hitti vel á móti og gat notað skarpar samsetningar til að ná ákvörðuninni.

 

 

 

Í kickboxing aflavigtarleik, Meletis “Nightmare” Kakoubavas (33-7-0) veiddur Jermaine “J.J.” Girða (24-7-0) með háu hægri spyrnu til hliðar á höfði Soto við fimmtíu og tveggja sekúndna markið í lotu tvö af þremur lotum bardaga þeirra. Kvöldið byrjaði á þungavigtinni Zac Cavender (1-0-0) vann frumraun sína í atvinnumennsku í MMA með TKO sigri í fyrstu umferð á Marius Cantoneru (0-2-0). Jarðvegur og pund Cavender virkuðu til fullkomnunar þar sem röð af hnefum við hlið höfuðsins á Cantoneru olli stöðvuninni á 2:30 merki umferðarinnar.
