New England Golden Gloves Championship OPEN CLASS FINALS RESULTS

लोवेल, मास. (फेब्रुअरी 26, 2016) – Western New England dominated the open class finals of the New England Tournament of Champions, part of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship, winning seven of 10 matches last night at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
The eight men’s individual open class winners earned spots on Team New England for the 2016 National Golden Gloves Championships, मई 16-21, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Team New England includes two of the top ranked boxers in the country, प्रकाश हैवीवेट elvis Figueroa and light welterweight Jaime Ortiz Rodriguez (repeat NE champion), both members of N.E. open class team champion from Western NE. “In the last 10 वर्ष,” explained New England Golden Gloves Executive Director बबी Russo, “we hadn’t been on a good run. Attendance dropped off a little each year. There was a younger crowd and many novice boxers had good fan bases, which we need to build up every year. We had a lot of good fights and good boxers this year. Boxing is back in Lowell! “Team New England will be very strong. We have a young team but many of these boxers have a lot of invaluable experience from Junior Olympics competition, from heavyweight on down. I think we have an impressive team that will do very well at The Nationals this year.”

NOVICE CLASS FINALS RESULTS FROM LOWELL
लोवेल, मास. (फेब्रुअरी 19, 2016) – Fourteen 2016 New England Tournament of Champions winners were crowned last night in the novice class of 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
Team Central produced the most individual winners with seven, followed by Team Western with five, and Team Central had two.
The unofficial fight of the night was between Salem, MA welterweight Kenny Larson (Team Central) and his Dorchester, MA opponent Jarrod LoMax (Team Southern), in which Larson won a three-round decision, 3-2.
पोर्टलैंड, ME bantamweight Christian Morales (Team Northern) continued his performance run in the tournament, winning a three-round decision, 5-0, over hometown Lowell favorite Marquis Fowler (Team Central) Morales’ impressive showings in the tournament will lead him into an open division spot in next week’s New Englands.
In a Central N.E. (ठूलो लोवेल) heavyweight final rematch, due to a round-time issue, Methuen’s Jesus Flores (नहर सडक बक्सिङ) defeated Haverhill’s John Roche (Haverhill Downtown बक्सिङ) by the same score as their original match in another thrilling, back-and-forth bout ending a in three-round decision (5-0). लोवेल, मास. (फेब्रुअरी 11, 2016) – Team Central had the edge in last night’s novice class semifinals of the New England Tournament of Champions, part of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship, at Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
Team Central had five individual winners, followed by Team South and Team West with three victories and Team North had two. The novice class finals of the N.E. Tournament of Champions will be held बिहीबार, Feb. 18 लोवेल स्मारक अडिटोरियम मा.
The Fight of the Night was the light heavyweight match of the novice class as Team South’s Henry Ventura (एन. Dartmouth, एमए) overcame two knockdowns to defeat Team North’s Tyler Jacques (सेन्ट. Albans, VT) who was dropped once and also had a standing eight count, by way of a unanimous decision (5-0).
