“This is a fantastic fight, a true 50-50 matchup featuring two of the division’s best punchers,” said Top Rank chairman Bob Arum. “The light heavyweight division is on fire right now, and the winner will be in a tremendous position.”

“I am very happy to get back in the ring after this long layoff,” Alvarez said. “I am looking at Jan. 18 to reboot my career against a strong puncher, Michael Seals, and begin my campaign to once again be on top of the boxing world. I have a lot of respect for my opponent, but in 2020, nothing will stop me from becoming a world champion again.”

“First, I would like to thank Top Rank and ESPN for giving Eleider this opportunity, as well as a plan to be very active in 2020,” said Yvon Michel, Alvarez’s co-promoter. “Eleider had a great run before his last fight, beating three former or current world champions in a row: Lucian Bute, Jean Pascal and Sergey Kovalev. The defeat in his rematch with Kovalev was very painful, but also a great learning lesson. Eleider Alvarez belongs with the elite of the light heavyweight division, and he will prove it starting Jan. 18 in Verona.”

“Uncle Bob and Brad Goodman are giving me the opportunity of a lifetime, and I am going to put on a show for them,” Seals said. “Everyone knows that going the distance is against my religion. I’m going to bring the heat, and that’s no secret. Alvarez made a huge mistake in accepting me for his ‘comeback fight.’ When you sign a contract with me, I’m trying to force-feed you some ZzzQuil. This is a tune-up for him but everything for me. I’m not an opponent for the top fighters. I am a top fighter. I want a world title shot, and I won’t let this guy get in the way. He had his time. It’s my time.”

Alvarez (24-1, 12 KOs), the Colombian-born, Montreal-based boxer-puncher has not fought since Feb. 2, when he dropped a unanimous decision to Sergey Kovalev six months after knocking him out to win the WBO light heavyweight world title. Alvarez’s long layoff is due to a torn foot ligament he suffered in training earlier this year. He hopes a win over Seals will earn him another crack at world championship glory.

Seals (24-2, 18 KOs), a Mobile, Alabama, native who played collegiate football at Alabama A&M, is still one of the division’s heaviest hitters at 37 anos de idade. An 11-year pro, Seals has been involved in many memorable brawls, incluindo um 2015 Fight of the Year contender versus Edwin Rodriguez that included five knockdowns in three rounds. Despite falling short versus Rodriguez, Seals’ reputation as a fan-friendly was solidified. Ele ganhou quatro em uma fileira, including three by knockout in either first or second round. He is coming off a one-punch, first-round knockout Oct. 18 in Philadelphia against Elio Trosch.

Nikolai Potapov Returns with Impressive TKO over Africa’s Nasibu Ramadhani

WBO #9 e IBF #11 Bantamweight Nikolai Potapov returned to action Thursday night in Moscow with an impressive fifth-round TKO over Tanzanian veteran Nasibu Ramadhani.

Fighting in the 10-round main event of a card presented by Shamo Boxing at the Korston Club Hotel, Potapov (21-2-1, 12 KOs), de Podolsk, Rússia, worked past a head-butt induced cut left eye to put his world-class skills on full display. He wobbled the aggressive Ramadhani (29-14-2, 16 KOs) in the second round with a three-punch combination and continued to dominate until the stoppage.

“I am glad to get the work and the win,” said the victorious Potapov. “I would like to come back to the US and get another opportunity to fight for the world title.”

The fight was Potapov’s first since his highly controversial decision loss to fellow contender Joshua Greer last July. Promotor de Potapov, Dmitriy Salita, says the capable Russian is gearing up for another assault on the division’s best.

“I am glad Nikolai got some work in and was able to score an impressive TKO victory. The bantamweight division is heating up and he is up there with the best in the weight class. I look forward to a great 2020 for Nikolai!"

ShowtimeBoxing / status / 1190493848016957441
)

“Eu queria roubar o show,”Disse Martinez.

Eu tenho o melhor time de boxe agora. Contanto que eles continuem alinhando-os, Vou continuar derrubando-os. "

Eu queria a vitória e consegui a decisão unânime.

Ele nunca me machucar.

Eu fui o melhor lutador no final do dia.”

"No geral, Eu dominei.

Vou continuar a desenvolver e me manter ocupado no ringue.

(Romero KO: https://twitter.com/
ShowtimeBoxing / status / 1190461550190120960
)

ET / PT no SHOWTIME EXTREME e estará disponível no SHOWTIME ANYTIME® e SHOWTIME on DEMAND®.

HOUSTON, TX–Roberson Sports Management is proud to announce the signing of it’s first fighter, undefeated lightweight Fernando Bunch.

Roberson Sports Management is owned by LaTavia Roberson who is best known as an original member of the R&B group Destiny’s Child, one of the world’s

Nine-Time World Champion Roy Jones Jr. is training Fernando Bunch. LaTavia wanted to get a fighter signed, and her team started looking. Since LaTavia owns Slugfest Magazine, and had done a cover story with Roy earlier in the year. Her partner Alfred Adams, Vice President of Roberson Sports Management, asked Roy if he knew of any up and coming prospects. Roy said he had someone LaTavia should look at. Adams immediately took notice of Bunch’s speed and strength.

Fernando Bunch was born Fernando Parks, but in 2010 he and his father decided he should take his father’s last name, and he changed it. Fernando was born in Birmingham, Alabama, e é 27 anos. He stands 5’11 and campaigns at 130lbs.-135lbs. He is the youngest of 5 irmãos. He has about 120 lutas amadoras em seu currículo. Both of his parents are God fearing and was raised in the Mount Calvary Baptist Church. Fernando graduated from
Hephzibah High School in 2009 at the top of his class. As of now, he works as a Tech Support specialist at T-Mobile for the last 5 anos. Ele tem 2 daughters, a 7-year-old daughter named Mya Armani and an 8-month-old daughter name Miliana Pelea. They are both his pride & joy and his reason why he strives so hard to be successful in his boxing career and in life.

Fernando started boxing in 2001, in which was a transition from Taekwondo due to disqualifications for obsessive use of punches. Basicamente, he quit because he was more interested in punching than kicking. Throughout his early years of boxing he won State and Regional Junior Olympics, Silver Gloves, Luvas de Ouro, and competed in the National Golden Gloves, Augusta National Ringside Classics, Title National Paul Murphy, and USA
Championships. He also fought in the 2015 Olympic Trials in Colorado Springs, as well in Philadelphia. In the midst of all those tournaments, his coach left for 2 & 1/2 tours in Iraq. Consequently, his trainer’s absence caused him to miss a lot of opportunities to take part in many national tournaments. Fernando received experience within his amateur boxing career by training with world champions such as the Erislandy Lara and the Charlo Brothers, but he also learned from greats such as Ronnie Shields, Paul Williams and now with his head coach the Great Roy Jones Jr.

Fernando has the potential to have a tremendous professional boxing career. He is always willing to learn, and strongly believes in the sayingThe day you stop learning, is the day you stop getting better. As of right now, Fernando is 9-0 as a professional with 5 Knockouts and trains with Roy Jones Jr in Pensacola, FL.

Fernando’s future goal is to be able to bring a nonprofit boxing gym and program for the youth in his side of town (South side) in Augusta, GA. Além, he wants to start a consistent foundation that supplies school and hygiene supplies for the youth before each semester of school. He is also interested in starting a program for young men on how to apply for jobs, conduct themselves in interviews, how to make mature decisions and
manifest goals.

My business partner Alfred Adams called me about this. I used to sit at home and watch boxing with my father and Grandmother. I love the sport, and I am excited to be involved in it,” said Roberson.

This makes sense for me because I have always been a fighter myself. Maybe not in the ring, mas na vida. I want to represent people who want to fight, and have those same kinds of qualities.

Roberson has done that without question.

Roberson added, “I want to be a mother-figure to my boxers. I have a great team in place led by Alfred, and I want to nurture these athletes. I don’t want anyone to screw them over. I have learned that when you are poorly managed, the results won’t be up to par, and I want to make sure our fighters get the utmost care.

From a sponsorship stand-point Adams called long-time friend Randy Jackson from the rock band Zebra to help facilitate this process for their fighters. Adams and Roberson knew at this point they had the right front office people in place to make the best possible decisions for their fighters.

West Point Boxing Fall Classic Winchester Senior Cadet Luca LoConte Botis to be showcased in final local boxing match

Novembro. 10 em Anthony em Malden, Massa.

BOSTON, Massa. (Outubro 28, 2019) – United States Military Academy Senior Cadet Luca LoConte Botis, who was born and raised in Winchester (De Massa.,) is looking forward to his final local boxing competition on Sunday, Novembro 10.

Botis, captain of the West Point boxing team, will be in action in front of many friends and family members Nov. 10 at the National Collegiate Boxing Association’s (NCBA) “West Point Fall Classic,” to be held at Anthony’s in nearby Malden, Massachusetts.

Members of the West Point boxing team will compete against amateur boxers from USA Boxing New England, University of Connecticut, Trinity College, Hartford College, and the University of Massachusetts.
Botis is a 2015 graduate of Winchester High School, where he captained the school’s cross country, swimming and outdoor track teams.

It always feels nice to comeback home and fight in front of my home crowd,” Botis said. “Since this is the last local fight for me, I can definitely say there is an early sense of nostalgia.

Botis will graduate from the United States Military Academy on May 23, 2020, after which he will be commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Exército. Although he hopes to serve in the Infantry in either Colorado or Kentucky, Botis will not know his first assignment until Nov. 13, nor where he will be assigned until February.

Boxing has been an enjoyable experience for Botis for numerous reasons. “Boxing has helped me become a more humble, respectful person,” he explained. “In the boxing ring there must be mutual respect between the two opponents; no taunting, teasing, or any form of disrespect. Boxers must also learn to not feel emotional toward their opponents. I learned these lessons by fighting in or watching fights where instances as such occurred.

I will not be boxing competitive in the army, but I will continue to train, because it is the best form of exercise I have ever experienced. Regarding my post-Army life, I will most likely volunteer at local gyms to train the younger generations to box.

Unsure how long he will serve in the U.S. Exército, at least at this stage, Botis plans to serve more than his required five years, but less than 10 anos. He speaks an incredible seven languages: Inglês, Italian, Sicilian and Romanian he learned at home, adding Portuguese, Spanish and a little Hebrew at West Point.

Botis has somewhat followed the path set by his great uncle, Louis LoConte, who was a varsity athlete excelling in hockey. He graduated in 1948 with honors from West Point, where he was trained to fly B-52 bombers. The now 93 anos, who lives in Louisiana, served in the military until 1956. Lucas’ grande, great grandfather, Louis LoConte, Sr., immigrated to the U.S. from Sicily, working as mason on the West Point military base. He used to speak to his son, Lou, about how much he admired young Cadets, understanding that they were special.

West Point has taught me that life is not about my own personal gains but, em vez de, about service to others,” Botis concluded. “It doesn’t matter what kind of service, military of civil, but what does matter is that I will help people everywhere I go. I value my relationships at West Point so much that I would not have made it this far if I didn’t have them.

A tribute to the USA Boxing Alumni Association will also be held during theWest Point Fall Classic,” including appearances by 1988 Medalhista de ouro olímpico Ray Mercer, three-time Fight of the Year participant “Irlandês” Micky Ward (Lowell, MA), três vezes, dois divisão campeão mundial “O Gallo” Jose Antonio Rivera(Worcester, MA), and former New England amateur champion and reigning IBA super welterweight champion GregThe Villain” vendi (Stoneham, MA).

As portas abrem às 2 p.m. E, primeira luta marcada para 3 p.m. E.
