The only career losses for all-action featherweight Simion (21-2, 9 KO) came against world champions Scott Quigg and Lee Selby in their backyards and both fights could have gone either way. A world-class talent with a “made for TV” styl, Simion never stops throwing punches.

IBF World Title Challenger Emmanuel Rodriguez sends message to WBA Champion Ryan Burnett

In Cardiff, Wales, WBA bantamweight world champion, Ryan Burnett ( 19-0, 9 KO ) successfully defended his belt against Venezuelan, Yonfrez Parejo ( 21-3-1, 10 KO ) jednomyslným rozhodnutím.

 

 

 

 

Dříve, Burnett was the WBA and IBF world champion, but he vacated the IBF because he decided to face WBA ranked Parejo, instead of facing the hightly touted Puerto Rican boxer, Emmanuel 'Manny’ Rodriguez ( 17-0, 12 KO ), who is IBF top ranked.

 

 

 

 

Now Rodriguez is facing Paul Butler from England for the vacant IBF world title on a date to be announced. Purse bid schedule on April, 3 at the IBF headquarters in New Jersey.

Wilfredo ‘Bimbito’ Méndez will fight for the WBA Fedelatin title

After winning the Universal Boxing Federation (UBF) vacant Las Americas title last December, Wilfredo ‘Bimbito’ Méndez (9-0, 4 KO) from Trujillo Alto, Portoriko, will seek a top ranking spot in the World Boxing Association (WBA ) when he faces Nicaraguan Leyman Benavides (13-6-1, 2 KO) for the vacant WBA Minimumweight Fedelatin title.

 

 

 

 

The Méndez-Benavides duel will take place on Sobota, Březen 17 at the Fiesta Hall of the Jaragua Hotel in Santo Domingo, Dominikánská republika.

Jessica McCaskill Gets Her Wish to Face Katie Taylor: Social Media Challenges Turn to Women’s Super Fight on December 13 v Londýně

Christmas comes a little early this year for hard-punching Warriors Boxing lightweight Jessica ‘CasKILLA’ McCaskill.

All year, she and manager/trainer Rick Ramos have been expressing their wish, via social media, to face Irish gold medalist turned professional world champion Katie Taylor.
Na Středa, Prosinec 13, they will get their wish, as Chicago-based McCaskill (5-1, 3 KO) will challenge Taylor (7-0, 4 KO) for her WBA Lightweight Championship at York Hall in London, Anglie, and live before a massive audience on Sky Sports.
“I’m relieved. “I’ve never watched a full fight of hers,” professed McCaskill. “I’ve seen some highlights. I see mistakes she makes, but it’s not so much what I see in her. It’s what I see in all her opponents. They’ve all been scared of her. I am not. You won’t see any fear in me. Everybody else was terrified to engage her. They just showed up. I’ll be fighting to the last bell.”
Much of the credit for landing the fight must go to Ramos, who doggedly pursued Taylor and her promoter, Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Boxing, on social media.
“I felt like offended about comments Katie and Eddie made about how no one wants to fight her,” explained Ramos. “I remember thinking, ‘well, NO ONE called Jessica. We would love to fight Katie!’ That kind of started everything. Eddie Hearn finally did contact me via Instagram and things started getting real. I was happy that my social-media tactic worked!”
McCaskill, who also works full-time in Regulatory and Reporting at R.J. O’Brien & Associates investment bank in Chicago, says she’s not intimidated about stepping into Taylor’s home field for this fight. Vlastně, she’s expecting a number of her fans to be there as well.
“It’s funny because of my job and my previous investment banking job, I have a lot of contacts and friends over there who are excited to show up for me. Nutley, NJ (Září 21, 2017)–Vito Mielnicki’s GH3 Promotions is gearing up for a busy fall schedule.
Middleweight Antoine Douglas (22-1-1, 16 KO) has won three in a row since his lone defeat, and that has catapulted him to world rankings of number-8 by the WBC, Number-9 by the WBA and Number-8 by the WBO. Douglas will be back in action on11. listopadu in Atlanta.
Undefeated Super Middleweight Ronald Ellis (14-0-1, 10 KO) will meet Taneal Goyco on November 4th ve Springfieldu, Virginie.
Super Bantamweight Adam Lopez (16-1-2, 8 KO) se bude konat dne 18. listopadu, and will be announced in the next week.
Newly signed lightweight Thomas Mattice (9-0, 7 KO) will make his GH3 Promotions debut on 11. listopadu in Atlanta on the same card as Douglas.

Two-time world champion Beibut Shumenov Retires due to severe eye injury

LAS VEGAS (Červen 26, 2017) – Dvě divize World Boxing Association (WBA) Světový šampion Shumenov Beibu has relinquished his WBA cruiserweight world title, due to his career-ending eye injury, and he has announced his retirement from the ring.
“I have regrettably relinquished my WBA cruiserweight title and retired from boxing because of a traumatic eye injury suffered the week before my last scheduled fight,” Shumenov said from his Las Vegas home. “I’m extremely disappointed my boxing career has ended like this but, bohužel, injuries are part of this sport and there’s nothing I can do about it. I still have blurred vision and I need to have an additional surgery next month to try to further repair so I don’t risk blindness in my (doprava) eye.

“I’d like to thank my family, my team throughout the years, friends and fans for their continued support all these years. I was proud to wear the WBA championship belt for many years as a two-division champion. I’m grateful to WBA President Gilberto Jesus Mendoza, jeho otec, and all those in my WBA family. It was quite a ride and I look forward with great anticipation to the next chapter of my life with my son and future endeavors.”

Shumenov (17-2, 11 KO), a 2004 Kazachstán Olympian, was scheduled to face Interim WBA champion yunier Dorticos (21-0, 20 KO) in the April 29th Hlavní událostí Champions Premier Boxerské o FS1 a FOX Deportes, from Sam’s Town Live in Las Vegas.

Beibut Shumenov has a serious ocular issue, a recurrent corneal erosion of his right eye, that with continued fighting, puts him at risk for permanently losing his eyesight.

“It is my medical opinion that he should permanently refrain from sparring, training and boxing due to the severity of damage to his eye and the high risk of further damage of vision impairment, including the possibility of permanent vision loss.”
The WBA accepted Shumenov’s relinquishment of his championship, noting that it expressed its gratitude and pride for his professional career with the WBA.

The last three years of Shumenov’s career was marred by inactivity, in which he fought only three times due to lack of managerial support, despite him training daily, in top shape and always being ready to fight. The 33-year-old Shumenov retires as the first and only two-division world champion to date from Kazakhstan, as well as the record-holder for fewest fights needed to win the world light heavyweight championship, 10.

During his 9 1/2 -year pro career, Shumenov defeated four world champions – Gabriel Campillo, Byron Mitchell, William Joppy a Montell Griffin – as well as world title challengers Epifanio Mendoza, Vlacheslav Uzelkov, Danny Santiago, Enrique Ornelas, Tamas Kovacs, BJ Flores a Junior Wright.

Burnett’s clash with Haskins is part of a huge night of action in Belfast where Paul Hyland Jr faces Adam Dingsdale for his first pro title with the IBF European Lightweight strap on the line.
