Murphy Box ist stolz bekannt zu geben, dass der nächste Empfänger der Warrior's Code Award wird New England Boxlegende sein, „Iceman’ John Scully.


Der Hartford, Scully aus Connecticut war in den 1990er Jahren einer der beliebtesten Kämpfer in der Region und er ging 38-11 in einer professionellen Karriere im Halbschwergewicht, die die Herausforderung um den Weltmeistertitel gegen Henry Maske in Deutschland beinhaltete.


Nach seiner beruflichen Laufbahn, „Iceman’ erlangte Ruhm, indem er Wiederholungen von Kämpfen für anrief ESPN Classic sowie eine beliebte Kolumne in der britischen Zeitschrift zu schreiben, Boxing News.


Allerdings hat Scully seinen größten Erfolg als Trainer erzielt, der maßgeblich dazu beiträgt, Kämpfer wie zu nehmen Jose Antonio Rivera und Chad Dawson zu Weltmeistertiteln.


Scully ist jetzt Co-Trainer des Russen, jetzt in Kanada ansässig, ungeschlagener Weltmeister im Halbschwergewicht, Artur Beterbiev, Wer diesen Samstag seinen Titel in Kalifornien verteidigt, lebt weiter ESPN.


Neben seiner Arbeit als Trainer war er ein leidenschaftlicher Verfechter und Verfechter der Rechte und des Wohlergehens von Kämpfern im Ruhestand.


“Es ist mir eine große Ehre, diese Anerkennung zu erhalten, und ich schätze Murphys Boxing sehr, dass er an mich gedacht hat.”, sagt der 51 Einjähriger Einwohner von Connecticut.


“Es ist besonders speziell, weil es in der Stadt Springfield stattfinden wird, wo ich den größten Teil meiner Amateur-Boxkarriere im alten Central City Gym im X unter Trainer John Tynan verbracht habe. Ich freue mich auf eine tolle Nacht.”


Murphys Boxing Gründer, Ken Casey erklärt die Entscheidung der Promotion, Scully als letzten Empfänger der Auszeichnung zu benennen, die nach einem der Signature-Songs von Dropkick Murphy benannt ist, "The Warrior's Code" ist eine Hommage an einen anderen New England Boxhelden, Micky Ward.

Scully wird der dritte Empfänger der Auszeichnung sein, die Murphys Boxing in diesem Jahr ins Leben gerufen hat, um die Kämpfer zu feiern, die zur reichen und vielfältigen Geschichte des Boxens in Neuengland beigetragen haben. Scully schließt sich an 2019 International Hall of Fame Inductee, Tony DeMarco und dekoriert Massachusetts’ Amateur, Mike D’Ampolo die die ersten Auszeichnungen bei Murphys Boxings letztem Event in Melrose erhielten, Massachusetts im vergangenen März.

Olympic Medal Winner Nico Hernandez Dominates Mexico’s Victor Trejo Garcia in UFC Fight Pass Main Event from Mulvane, Kansas

Fighting in the main event of a special two-hour live stream on UFC Fight Pass and in front of an adoring crowd of fans at the Kansas Star Casino in Mulvane, Kansas, hometown favorite and US Olympic bronze medal winner Nico Hernandez (7-0, 4 KOs) won his eight-round flyweight showdown by unanimous decision over a determined but out-gunned Victor Trejo Garcia of Mexico City, Mexiko (16-10-1, 8 KOs).


It was a good “learning” fight for Hernandez, as Garcia never threatened to win, but hung tough against the superior firepower to keep things entertaining throughout. He was sitting down on his punches well and picking spots for his punishing combinations like a veteran.

Fighting in the middle UFC Fight Pass bout, the two super lightweights did not disappoint, going to old-school inside warfare for eight exciting rounds. The entertaining Eyubov was the much more active fighter. He worked the body relentlessly while mixing in powerful hooks with both hands upstairs. Rodriguez weathered the relentless storm and came back consistently with hard, accurate counters.


Schließlich, the judges couldn’t decide who won and a majority draw was the verdict. One judge had it 77-75 for Rodriguez, a bit surprisingly, but was overruled by stereo scores of 76-76. Give both fighters credit, it was an entertaining slugfest and the Kansas fans loved it.


In the six-round super flyweight Fight Pass opener, Pushkino, Russia’s Elena Savelyeva (5-1, 4 KOs) brauchte nur 36 seconds to dispatch Kansas City’s Tatiana Williams Kansas City (0-2). Williams was dancing and smiling before the action and came out looking to trade, but a taste of the former Olympian Saveleva’s power and she packed it in quickly.


Saveleva’s body work was ferocious as long as it lasted.


In the opening swing-bout of the night, a 10-round heavyweight bout didn’t last a full round, as knockout specialist Apti Davtaev (16-0-1, 15 KOs) of Kurchaloi, Russland, made quick work of Belton, Missouri, veteran Richard Carmack 15-15-1, 12 KOs.


The two giants traded strong blows from the outset, with both landing. Davtaev, jedoch, had the better accuracy and chin. One of his long right hands put Carmack down on a delayed reaction and another finished things at 2:26. KO 1.


Nachher, the stern Russian, who trains at Detroit’s world-famous Kronk Gym and is featured in upcoming Ring Magazine “New Faces” section as a “Heavyweight to Watch” for 2019, signalled he is ready for a step up in competition in his next fight.


The UFC Fight Pass commentating team consisted of Der Fight Network veteran Cory Edrman and “2018 Female Boxer of the Year” and women’s world champion Claressa Shields, making her debut behind the microphone. The event was presented by Salita Promotions.

Fire Fist Boxing fighters set for UFC Fight Pass bouts in St. Petersburg

Tampa, FL (Februar 13, 2019) – Fire Fist Boxing’s Connor “The Kid” Coyle, Willian “Baby Face” Silva and Mark Reyes Jr. will all fight as part of a UFC Fight Pass card Saturday, Februar 16 at the Coliseum in St. Petersburg, FL.

This excellent evening of boxing is promoted by Roy Jones Jr. Boxing Promotions in association with Rite Hook Promotions.

Headlining the telecast is an eight round middleweight showdown between Coyle and Travis “Dirty Red” Scott.

Splitting time between his native Ireland and St. Petersburg, FL, Coyle’s a perfect 8-0 mit 3 gewinnt durch KO. He’s become a big draw in the Tampa-St Pete area and most recently scored a sixth round TKO of Danny Pastrana. The talented Coyle has been featured as a prospect to watch out for by media members from both sides of the pond.

Fighting out of Baton Rouge, LA, Scott is Coyle’s most experienced foe to date. The 38-year-old has an excellent 19-4 Profibuch mit 5 KO. A true veteran of the sport, Scott turned pro in 2004 when Coyle was 14.

Welterweight phenom Mark Reyes Jr of Tampa, FL risks his 0 against fellow unbeaten Rodrigo Tatijewski of Sao Paolo, Brazil in a highly-anticipated six round contest.

The wildly popular Reyes Jr. ist 8-0 mit 6 KO. An athletic boxer-puncher, Reyes is coming off a third round TKO of Juan Garces last October and at 22-years-old, continues to improve rapidly.

Tatijewski, who is fighting for the first time in the United States, ist 8-0 und hat 7 wins by way of knockout. He’s confident of making a major splash by taking out Reyes in front of millions of viewers on UFC Fight Pass.

Junior welterweight Willian “Baby Face” Silva of Plant City, FL by way of Sao Paolo, Brazil challenges rugged Argentinian Juan Ramon Solis in a ten rounder.

Silva, who has an excellent 26-2 professional ledger and 15 gewinnt durch KO, scored a dominant 9th round TKO over Jose Forero last October. After fighting most of his career at lightweight, Silva’s sights are set on the best at 140 pounds but he must first get past Solis.

Living and fighting out of Buenos Aires, Argentinien, Solis is 25-13 mit 9 KO. The 36-year-old’s faced many top fighters including world champion Robert Easter, contenders Sergio Thompson and Diego Silva along with unbeaten Saul Rodriguez among others.

“This is a great opportunity for Connor, Mark and Willian,” said Jody Caliguire of Fire Fist Boxing. “The UFC Fight Pass platform is perfect for all three of these excellent boxers to showcase their talent to fans from all over. We’re looking forward to Saturday evening.”

The 24-year-old Castaneda of Mankato, Von. and the 27-year-old Lopez of Las Vegas, Nev. über Yakima, Wäsche. will collide in the main event of the 10-bout “Combate Americas: Empire Rising” Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Extravaganz.

Each fighter earned his way to the title fight in “La Jaula,” or the Combate Americas cage, by going undefeated in three consecutive bouts during the “Road To The Championship” series that kicked off in September 2015 and concluded on May 9, 2016.

Similar to his opponent, Lopez is a determined finisher who has earned five of his six professional career wins by way of (T)KO oder Duldung.

Lopez began his Combate Americas journey in the “Road To The Championship” series, Besiegen Mauricio Diaz by way of unanimous decision on September 17, 2015.

In his second Combate Americas appearance, Lopez submitted Joey Ruquetwith an arm-triangle choke in the second round (4:06) Handlungs, before sealing his fate in the title fight with Castaneda by scoring a devastating, zweite Runde (4:07) TKO auf Saul Elizondo with a barrage of punches on the ground.
