The RJJ Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS event is part of the 40garren Nayarit National Festival, which is celebrated between March 10 eta 27. The festival displays the cultural identity of Nayarit, like the Indigenous community, also providing entertainment by offering regional artists at national and international events. It attracts between 20,000 eta 30,000 people each day of the festival.

The four 19-year-old Mexican fighters have a combined pro record of 24-0 (15 Kos): lightweights Jorge “Jorgito” Lugo Cota (7-0, 5 Kos) and Marco Cota Moreno (5-0, 4 Kos), as well as twin Tepic brothers, featherweight Hector “Tigre” Perez Cruz (6-0, 5 Kos) and super featherweight Paolo “Leon” Perez Cruz (6-0, 5 Kos).

The Mexican quartet had an incredible 470-24 Erregistro amateur: Lugo (155-15), Moreno (146-4), Paul (86-2) and Hector (83-3) Cross.

“These young men are the future of boxing in Mexico,” RJJ Boxing’s veteran matchmaker Guy Taylor said. “I have never had four undefeated boxers with nearly 500 combined amateur victories, all under the age of 20, fighting on the same card as this.”

Cota, who has become a semi-regular fighting on RJJ Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS shows, is matched against Ricardo “Palmito” Badillo Rodriguez (7-2-2, 1 KO), Tepic of, in a 6-round match. Cota is the youngest member of the famed Mexican fightin’ Montiel family, led by 3-division world champion Fernando Montiel.

Moreno was a decorated amateur boxer who captured five-Sonora State championship titles. He will meet Jonathan Zuniga (6-3, 3 Kos) in a 4-round fight.

Potential Instant Classics in World Cup Boxing Series “4-Man Lightweight Tournament” semifinals

LAS VEGAS (Urtarrilaren 27, 2022) — The semifinals of the World Cup Boxing Series’ (WCBS) inaugural “4-Man Lightweight Tournament,” presented by Roy Jones Jr. (RJJ) Boxeo Promozioak, has the potential to have two instant classics on February 24garren.

Munduko Boxing Kontseilua (WBC) has sanctioned the WCBS’ “4-Man lightweight Tournament,” created by CEO Terry Hollan and matchmaker Guy Taylor, and the winner will be crowned the WBC Latino Lightweight Champion, as well as positioned in the WBC’s top 15 ratings.


The WCBS “4-Man Tournament” semifinals matchups are Luis “Koreano” Torres (14-0, 9 Kos) vs. Rodolfo “Rudy” Flores (14-5, 6 Kos), Isai “Gaga” Hernandez (11-2-2, 7 Kos) vs. Irving “Poderoso” Castillo (11-2, 7 Kos).


Semifinal’s action will be contested in 8-round bouts, 10 rounds for the championship final. The WCBS will also feature one “overtime” round, Behar izanez gero,, to declare a winner in the event of a draw upon the conclusion of the scheduled distance.


WCBS will also be offering a “Fight of the Night” and “Knockout” bonuses to each contestant through the duration of its “4-Man Lightweight Tournament.”


The 20-year-old Torres, a former WBC Youth Silver lightweight champion, is the No. 1 seed and pre-tournament favorite who will be fighting at home.

I know my opponent is a southpaw, but I really don’t care to know much about him. He has very good skills but that doesn’t bother me at all.


“I like to box on the outside, keep my distance, and control the pace. I think this fight is going to be a war! I am very excited for this match-up and I hope Torres is ready for a fight. I will win this fight by decision.”

Venezuelan knockout artist Fradimil Macayo (15-1, 13 Kos) faces unbeaten Mexican fighter Armando Ramirez (5-0-1,2 Kos) in an 8-round bout.


Undefeated 19-year-old prospect Jorge “Jorgito” Cota (6-0, 4 Kos), the youngest in the famed Mexican fightin’ Montiel family, led by his grandfather Fernando Montiel, meets Guatemalan challenger Rene “Kampana” de Leon Mazariegos (7-3, 4 Kos), in a scheduled 6-rounder.

Harris’ most impressive victories to date have been a pair of 2017 8-round unanimous decisions over former California State welterweight and New England middleweight champion, Chris Chatman (14-7-1), eta beterano Lanardo Tyner (32-10-2) for the vacant UBF All American middleweight title.


St. Louis’ Alexander is the brother of 3-time, 2-division World champion Devon Alexander. In 2017, “The Animal” stopped former IBF World Middleweight Champion Elvin Ayala in seven rounds and two years later, Alexander took an 8-round majority decision from previously undefeated prospect Money Powell (10-0, 7 Kos).


“I’ll probably come out boxing him, beat on him a little, and then see from there,” Harris predicted. “He may take me the distance, but I’m going to win easily. I’ll have 20 wins and that should position me at the next level, especially fighting on UFC FIGHT PASS. I’ve never fought on a televised (or streamed) show before.


“I’m a boxer-puncher with real good power and speed. I’m a big guy for my weight class and smart. I do a lot of different things and I definitely have a lot of heart.”

Newman, whose 4-right win streak was snapped in his most recent fight, last February in Las Vegas to Geno Pilana by way of a close 10-round decision 96-94 X 3), is anxious to showcase his improvements working under the guidance of Jones.

The main event finds 23-year-old Mexican super middleweight Manuel “El Meno” Gallegos (17-1, 15 Kos) matched against his Las Vegas opponent, Kevin “The Second Coming” Newman (11-2-1, 6 Kos), 10-txandan bout batean.

A dangerous puncher, Gallegos stopped 15 of his opponents in his 17 pro wins. His undefeated record was snapped in his last fight at 17-0, when the 23-year-old last October, when he dropped an 8-round unanimous decision to 10-1-1 (7 Kos) Oziel Santoyo.

“I want to thank RJJ Boxing and UFC FIGHT PASS for the opportunity to fight in front of my countrymen,” Gallegos commented. “I hope my opponent is training hard because I’m coming after him.”

Undefeated lightweight prospect Jamaine “The Technician” Ortiz Set for Friday’s homecoming fight

WORCESTER, Mass. (Otsaila 26, 2020) – Undefeated World Boxing Council (WBC) Youth World lightweight championJamaine “The Technician” Ortiz (12-0, 6 Kos) plans to make a major statement this Friday when he fights at home in Worcester, Massachusetts, for the first time as a professional boxer.

Ortiz will headline aCES Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS® gertaera, promoted by Classic Entertainment and Sports (CES), at the historic Worcester Palladium.

Ortiz, 23, is a lightning-quick, gifted lightweight with tremendous upside. A decorated amateur, Ortiz is a rising star in what many believe will be a breakout year for him.

“Jamaine certainly hasn’t reached his full potential,” Ortiz’ head trainerRocky Gonzalez commented. “He’s still young and all he really needs is more experience. He’s a good listener with great hand speed, and he switches (stances) easily. And he really believes in himself and it’s hard to beat somebody like that. I can’t teach heart, but he has that as well.
