PHILADELPHIA – Tudo está definido para o 11ª edição do Briscoe Awards, a ser realizada neste domingo tarde, Março 25, 2018, 1-4 PM, no Clube VBA na Filadélfia. O evento celebra as maiores e melhores conquistas da cena do boxe na área da Filadélfia, e normalmente é frequentado por boxeadores – passado e presente, outras personalidades do boxe, e lutar fãs.
“2017 foi um ano memorável para a nossa cena local de boxe, e será ótimo reunir todos para comemorar,” disse John DiSanto, fundador do Briscoe Awards. “Nosso evento é realmente apenas uma festa – Comida, bebidas, e uma união de todos que amam esse esporte. É sempre bom ver a mistura de pessoas que vêm ao Briscoe Awards. O destaque porém, está lançando os holofotes sobre os lutadores que trabalharam tanto para entreter todos nós fãs. PHILADELPHIA – Depois de dez anos celebrando as maiores e melhores conquistas do boxe da Filadélfia, o Briscoe Awards mudará o calendário de seu evento anual, de outubro a março.
“Já faz alguns anos, Eu considerei transferir os prêmios para a primeira parte do ano,” disse John DiSanto, fundador do Briscoe Awards. “O horário original do outono causou muita confusão, porque no momento em que entregamos os prêmios, as lutas eram notícia velha. A mudança para março nos permitirá entregar os prêmios logo após o término do ano da luta. Estou um pouco nervoso em fazer uma mudança, mas a longo prazo, a mudança só tornará o Briscoe Awards melhor.”

BRUNSON SETS RECORD WITH THREE BRISCOE AWARDS

PHILADELPHIA – PA State junior middleweight champion Tyrone Brunson will be honored with three Briscoe Awards for the eventful year he had in 2017. During the year, Brunson’s efforts won him three bouts, two belts, and kept his career on track for a big fight in 2018. For these accomplishments, Brunson will take home three Briscoe Prêmios em March 25th– “Philly Fighter of the Year”, “Philly Luta do Ano”, e “Desempenho do ano”. This will be the first time a fighter has won three Briscoes in a single year.
“Danny Garcia, Steve Cunningham, Bryant Jennings and Tevin Farmer have all won two before, but Brunson will be the first guy to get three on the same day,” disse John DiSanto, fundador do Briscoe Awards. “Tyrone had a great year in 2017, so I’m happy for him. The voters got it right.”

Filadélfia, PA (Dezembro 5, 2017) – Last Friday night Tyrone Brunson stopped Manny Woods to win the UBF International Junior Middleweight title after eight-rounds of a scheduled ten-round bout in front of a sold out crowd at the 2300 Arena.
The exciting 12-bout card was promoted by King’s Promotions.
Brunson of Philadelphia systematically broke down woods as he boxed well using a pinpoint jab over the first half of the fight. In round six, Brunson started landing hard power punches and began to stagger Woods. Finally after round eight, the corner of Woods pulled the plug on the bout, and Brunson scored his 3rd straight win.
Brunson is now 26-6-2 com 24 nocautes. Woods of Saint Petersburg, Florida is 16-7-1.
Na co-metragem Brandon Robinson scored the biggest win of his career by winning an eight-round unanimous decision over Christopher Brooker to win the UBF All Americas super middleweight title.
Robinson got the better of the action as he cut Brooker in 2 places around the left eye. Brooker tried to get back in the fight over the last couple rounds, but it was Robinson’s boxing and power punches that propelled him to the victory by 80-72, 79-73 e 78-74.
Robinson of Philadelphia is 8-1. Brooker of Philadelphia is 12-5.

Jaron Ennis took out George Sosa at 1:09 of round two of a scheduled eight-round welterweight bout.
The top prospect, Ennis scored two knockdowns and the fight was stopped at 1:09 da segunda rodada.

Romuel Cruz made a successful pro debut with a 3rd round stoppage over Rondarrius Hunter in a bantamweight bout.
A series of body shot put Hunter down and the bout was stopped at 2:#5.
Cruz of Philadelphia is 1-0 com 1 suprimir, Hunter of Atlanta is 1-2.

Rasheed Johnson of Philadelphia won a four-round unanimous decision over Kashon Hutchinson in a welterweight bout.

Shamsuddeen Justice stopped late-replacement Jack Grady at 2:07 of round one of their welterweight bout.

Filadélfia, PA (Novembro 29, 2017) – They fought as amateurs, and are both considered among the best super middleweights in the city.
Esta sexta-feira noite, Brandon Robinson and Christopher Brooker meet as professionals in what could shape up to be an explosive co-feature bout of a 12 fight card at the

2300 Arena em Filadélfia.
The eight-round bout is for the UBF All-Americas title.

The main event will pit Tyrone Brunson (25-6-2, 23 KOs) contra Manny madeiras (16-6-1, 6 KOs) of Saint Petersburg, Florida in a junior middleweight bout scheduled for ten rounds.
“O treinamento tem sido grande. This has been the best camp that I have had since turning professional hands down,” said Robinson.
Although this could be a breakthrough fight for 29 year-old Robinson, He has been looking at Brooker no different than any previous foe.
“I look at every fight as a big fight. I see each fight as if I am fighting Canelo or Golovkin, so I get my self in the best shape I can be.”
Being that they are in the same city, there is the aforementioned history between the two fighters.
“We fought as amateurs, and I won that fight. Since the, we have sparred a couple times, and that has given me a great scouting report on him, and let’s just say I feel very comfortable going into this fight.”
Fighting against another Philly fighter is nothing new for Robinson as he already has a victory over Lamont McLaughlin.
“I have been through this, and these kind of fights bring out the best of me, e com uma vitóriana sexta-feira, this will open up many doors for me that I never expected to be opened. I am looking for a complete performance, The fans will see power in both hands, craftiness, ring generalship and a huge heart. For the 26 year-old Brooker, he has been here before but he wants to get back in the win column after losing to undefeated Light Heavyweight Ahmed Elbiali in a fight that he took on short notice on 18 de julho.
“I got right back in the gym after that fight. I been working for 12 weeks. I have a new personal trainer Jermaine Clark and my new trainer Octavio Pineda,” said Brooker.
Brooker does not believe that the amateur loss to Robinson means anything going into Friday night.
“Yea, it does not mean anything. It was my 3rd amateur fight. The sparring sessions were good. Brooker has made his name throughout the boxing circles with his willing to fight and defeat anybody at anytime. Filadélfia, PA (Novembro 27, 2017) – Júnior Middleweight Tyrone Brunson is looking for a major opportunity in 2018.
Brunson of Philadelphia will first need to get past Manny madeiras nesta sexta-feira noite no 2300 Arena in the ten-round main event of a loaded 12 bout card that is promoted by King’s Promotions.
O 32 year-old is coming off the biggest when of his career when he stopped former two-time world champion Kermit Cintron in five rounds. The sure-fire Philadelphia Fight of the Year saw Brunson climb off the canvas twice before dropping Cintron three times in the pivotal round five.
“The fight fight gave me a lot of confidence,” said Brunson. “To do what I did against Cintron who is a two-time world champion. I am ready for Sexta-feira noite.”
Despite not having a lot of knowledge of Woods, Brunson expects a great performance.

Filadélfia, PA (Julho 13, 2017) – The scintillating Pennsylvania Junior Middleweight championship bout that took place on June 24th between former two-time world champion Kermit Cintron e nocauteador Tyrone Brunson will have at least four airings in Philadelphia area in the coming weeks.
The first airing will nesta sexta-feira noite, July 14th at 9:30 PM ET on The Comcast Network.
Subsequent airings will be on Comcast Sportsnet on Quarta-feira, 19 de julho de 9 PM;Domingo, July 23rd at 11 PM e Quarta-feira, August 2nd at 8:30 PM.
O ataque, which was won by Brunson via 5th round stoppage had five knockdowns, and saw Brunson come back from almost-certain defeat and take out Cintron in what ringside observers are calling a sure-fire Fight of the Year candidate.The match is added to the list of classic fights in the long storied history of Philadelphia boxing.

Filadélfia, PA (Junho 25 2017) -In a fight that exceeded it’s high expectations, Tyrone Brunson came back from two 4th round knockdowns to come back in the very next round to send former two-time world champion Kermit Cintron to the canvas three times, and win the Pennsylvania State Junior Middleweight title via 5th round stoppage at the 2300 Arena no sul da Filadélfia.
The spectacular card was promoted by King’s Promotions.
“This was a tremendous fight, and all-around great card. Some fight’s and cards don’t live up to the expectations, but the main was one of the great fights of this year. I am proud of all the fighters who competed hoje à noite, as they all brought their best, and it showed in quality of the fights,”said King’s Promotions CEO, Marshall Kauffman.
The fight was nip and tuck for the first three-plus rounds, as Cintron looked very sharp early as he landed some hard right hands in the opening frame. Brunson came back and had a strong round two. The fight was fought on event terms until round four, when Cintron
dropped Brunson with a perfectly timed left hand. Later in the round, Brunson went down from an accumulation of punches on the ropes, and as the fourth round was finished, Brunson seemed just about done as well.
Brunson miraculously came back in round five and turned the tables on the former champ, as he landed a beautiful left that sent Cintron to the canvas. Cintron, was hurt and theprodigious puncher, Brunson was ready to finish off Cintron. Cintron never regained his legs and was sent to the canvas two more times, and referee Shawn Clark waved off the bout at1:21.
Brunson is now 25-6-2 com 23 nocautes. Cintron de Reading, PA cai para 39-6-3.

In the co-Feature, Victor Vazquez won a six-round unanimous decision over Anthony Burgin in a super lightweight bout.

Vazquez dropped Burgin in round two from body, and he took the hotly contested battle by scores of 58-55 duas vezes e 57-56. Vazquez of Yonkers, NY is now 8-3. Burgin of Philadelphia is now 10-4.

Steven Ortiz registered two knockdowns en-route to a thrilling six-round unanimous decision over Tyrome Jones in a battle of previously undefeated lightweights.
Ortiz scored knockdowns in rounds three and four in a bout where both guys landed some effective blows.
Ortiz of Philadelphia won by scores of 59-53 duas vezes e 57-56 to remain perfect at 7-0. Jones of South Bend, IN is now 4-1.
Jerome Conquest won a six-round decision over Jae Ho Kim in a lightweight bout.
Conquest was dropped with a left hook at the end of round three, but he controlled the action, and won by scores of 59-55, 58-55, e 57-56, e é agora 8-2. Kim of Philadelphia via South Korea is now 6-4-1.
Brandon Robinson dominated and took out Rafael Valencia at 2:48 of round two of their scheduled four round super middleweight bout.
Robinson landed a hard right that sent Valencia to the canvas. Valencia got up, but deemed unable to continue at 2:48.
