Atlantic City, Nju Džerzi (Listopad 10, 2017)–Na U subotu navečer, November 18th, velter kandidat Toma “Cornflake” LaManna returns to the ring when he takes on Tomas Mendez in 10-round fight for LaManna’s WBC Silver Latino Welterweight title, i LBF Intercontinental Welterweight title. The fight will headline a stacked night of boxing at The Claridge Hotel.
The show is promoted by Rising Promotions and Greg Cohen Promotions in association with Devin Haney Promotions and Winner Take All Productions.
“This is our 10th show and we expect this to be the best turn out,” said Debbie LaManna, CEO of Rising Promotions. “With a stacked undercard, and my son getting to headline again, we can all expect a great night of boxing. I’m happy Thomas decided to stick with it, after more than 10 years and a lot of money spent, it would be foolish to stop now when he is right there. We are happy to be doing this show with Greg Cohen and we look forward to bigger and better things together in the future.”

LaManna od Millville, New Jersey will be making the 1st defense of the WBC Silver Latino title that he won on August 19th when he scored two knockdowns en-route to a ten round unanimous decision over George Sosa at The Claridge Hotel in Atlantic City.
The 25 year-old Lamanna is a six-year professional who has wins over veteran’s Ayi Bruce, Kendal Mena, Eduardo Flores, and Carlos Winston Velasquez.
This will be LaManna’s 7th bout at The Claridge and 16th in Atlantic City.

Seldon is eager to be back in the ring after much soul searching over the past two-plus years.
“I have been working a job and staying in the gym. I have been keeping sharp but I just needed to get my life in order, ” said Seldon. “We have been looking for the right fight. I was offered some good financial opportunities in Russia, but I want to do this the right way. I am not in this for the money.”
Seldon feels at age 27, the time is now to concentrate on in his ring career.
“Ne postajem sve mlađi, and when I got the call from Rising Promotions and they offered me the right fight, I jumped at it.”
When asked about the veteran Mitchell, Seldon really doesn’t know alot.
“I don’t know much. I saw a couple video snippets of him and I see a tough guys who comes forward. It should be a good fight. I trained very hard for this and I am ready.”
When asked what he sees in the next few years, Seldon, believes that with Rising Promotions looking to do stage multiple fight cards on the boardwalk property, he sees an active 2016.
“I am looking at two or three more fights this year. Rising Promotions said I could be on their cards going forward. I am just trying to stay busy. Ja sam 27 years-old and it is time to go. The Beast Mode is turned on and I am excited to show a new Isiah Seldon. Before I was just a brawler but in the time off, I have developed my boxing skills and I am a much better fighter.”

Davis of nearby Mays Landing, New Jersey is not the typical fighter who has dreams of winning a world heavyweight title, but he has bigger plans to help mold the youth of the Jersey Shore area as being a role model.
To say Davis is an all-around athlete is an understatement.
The Buena High School all-time leading rusher in football, was a 48th round draft pick of the Florida Marlins and spent three years in their minor league system.
When getting the itch to play football again, Davis bagged baseball and began playing football at Hudson Valley College in upstate New York.
After a few years of figuring out his next move, Davis took up boxing.
U 6'3″a 250 lbs, Davis took up the sweet science at the age of 34.
After eight amateur fights (record of 5-3), Davis turned professional by fighting a four round draw with Willie Harvey on August 15, 2015.
Davis got into the win column with a 26 second knockout over Santario Holdbrooks on 5. prosinca at The Claridge.
“Sada, I am getting by with my natural athletic ability. I do not know all of the ins and outs of boxing, but I have toughness and have been learning on the job,” rekao je Davis.

“My goal is to fight as long as the sport wants me. I want to have fights that will build my resume and give me the credibility to become a trainer for all athletes. I would like to instill what I know and my experiences with baseball, football and now boxing and become an all-around trainer and role model. There are people needed in the community that should be mentoring kids coming up and I feel that I can be that guy around here.”

Rainone has a record of 24-7-1 with with five knockouts has long been a fan favorite in the Empire state, and the fight with Chalmers will fulfill a venue that has been on the 36 year-old’s bucket list.
“I have fought in Madison Square Garden, Yankee Stadium, The Legendary Blue Horizon and Las Vegas. I have been wanting to fight in Atlantic City for a long time and Saturday it finally happens,” said Rainone.
What makes Rainone’s career even more fascinating is that he works a full-time job overnight working for Hilton Hotels in the accounting the department.
That makes for long days, working until the early morning, getting just a few hours of sleep and then going to the gym before his overnight shift.
“I have not had a day off in seven weeks, but I will be ready to go u subotu noć. I have had pretty good training and sparring. Now I am just maintaining my weight “
In Chalmers, he is facing a veteran who has a record of 14-12-1 s osam knockouts. Chalmers has knocked off three undefeated fighters, but Rainone is confident that his skills and preparation will be enough to get his hand raised.
“I have seen him once in person. He defeated an undefeated guy and he was very aggressive that night. I have seen other fight’s where he sits back and is a counter puncher. I prepare for anything.”
Since turning professional in 2006, Rainone has been an instant fan favorite, and he feels he owes a lot of support to the many supporters who have stuck by him through his whole career.
“Without a fan base, you don’t get fights. I will have 100 or so fans down in Atlantic City. I owe everything to them.”
Rainone believes his popularity is due large in part to him being just an “everyday guy” and his fans can relate to him.
“I always put on a good fight, but I am relate able. After the fights, I hang out with everybody. I am humble and I show the fans how much I appreciate him.”
U svom posljednjem meču, Rainone took one of the step up fights that could have set him up for a major opportunity when he took on former junior middleweight champion Ishe Smith.
Rainone came up just short in that fight, but Rainone wanted to test himself against the former world champion.
“That fight was a tall order. Ishe is the bigger man and a former world champion. I am not a junior middleweight. I tried very hard and I knew if I had won that fought, I would have been ranked in the top-ten.”
Rainone is only planning to fight another couple of years and he still has the goals of every fighter, but he is taking his career fight by fight.
“The goal is one fight at a time. I am excited to fight in Atlantic City. I want to fight at Barclays Center and again in Madison Square Square Garden as well fighting for a title back in Atlantic City.”
“I have done this the hard way throughout my career. I do not know who has done it the way I have. I have done this on my own without any alliance or any promoter and I am very proud what I have accomplished and I still have more to do.”

Las Vegas (Prosinac 18) – The “force” was with Cuban star and newly crowned lightweight world champion Rances Bartolomej (24-0, 13 Kos) as he won a 12-round unanimous decision over Russian southpaw Denis Shafikov (36-2-1, 19 Kos) in the headlining bout of the final Premier Boks prvaka (PBC) na Spike fight card of 2015. The four-fight telecast, which was supported by non-televised fights featuring some of Mayweather Promotions’ zvijezde u usponu, took place at the Pearl at Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.
Coming off of a luxury world tour, Floyd Mayweather returned stateside and sat ringside as promoter of tonight’s fights. When the fight resumed, Barthelemy attacked the Russian’s eye and never let up for the remainder of the fight. He took advantage of the cut and coupled it with his height and reach advantage which led to a recipe for success as he is now a two-division world champion. The judges saw the bout 119-109 a 116-112 dvaput.
“There were moments where I was trapped into my style of fighting. It took me a minute to adjust to Shafikov’s style and exchange punches with him,” Said Bartolomej. “I’m really happy with the number of punches I was able to get off.
“I was really impressed with Shafiov’s warrior style. He never gave up even after getting hurt with punches that were affecting his fight. That really caught me by surprise and also that he was able to last the whole fight. The fact that he continued really says something about him as a fighter.”
“I’m not sure if I won the fight,” Said Shafikov. “I’m very disappointed and I want a rematch.”
The co-main event saw a bizarre ending to what was to be a cruiserweight elimination bout. Detroit southpawIsiah Thomas (15-0, 6 Kos) was winning the fight on all three judges’ scorecards through round three when Russian power-puncher Murat “Željezo” Gassiev (22-0, 16 Kos) threw accidental late blows to Thomas’ head after the bell. The punches forced referee Jay NADY to make the tough call that the punches “diminished the value” of Thomas’ ability to continue. As the fight had not yet gone four rounds, unified rules state that the fight does not go to the scorecards, thus ruling it a no contest.
Chris Pearson (16-1 11 Kos), a promising super welterweight from Dayton, Ohio put his previously undefeated record on the line against fellow unbeaten Eric Walker (12-0, 6 Kos) of Plaquemine, Louisiana in the second televised bout. Walker came out strong, dominating the early rounds against Pearson, another member of the stable of rising stars from Mayweather Promotions. A wobbled Pearson persevered and attempted to turn the tide in an action-packed fifth round with a series of head shots.

The seventh round saw both fighters exchanging a brutal barrage of punches culminating with a fast-paced eighth and final round drawing a standing ovation from the crowd. The underdog Walker, who spent 13 years in Dixon Correctional Institute in Louisiana, scored a unanimous decision victory (79-71, 78-74, 80-72) winning the biggest fight of his life in front of a captivated national TV audience.

“If you believe in God and work hard at what you’re doing, you’re going to succeed,” rekla je Walker. “Look at me now.
“I had watched his previous fights and knew that my right hand would be too much for him and that I could land it anytime,” continued Walker. “My conditioning was really the difference tonight. I was in great shape and I was able to rely on that when the going got tough.”

Pearson was disappointed in the decision and was left wanting a rematch.

Sanchez showed his toughness and resiliency as he forced Davis to fight three rounds longer than any fight of his career.Davis showed his speed and power in the eighth round as he landed an uppercut to knock down his determined opponent. In the ninth round, he threw a massive left hand to finish Sanchez, sending Mayweather to his feet in celebration.

“It felt great to fight all of these rounds and get the work in,” rekao je Davis. “He’s a tough fighter and I learned a great deal tonight. It was a very good experience for me.
“I just listened to my corner and Floyd, took my time and broke him down. I want to fight again as soon as possible for a world title.”
Mayweather, who was very pleased with Davis’ performance, sees the young undefeated fighter’s future as bright.

“Moja karijera ide sjajno do sada. Ja sam vrlo zadovoljan tempom moje karijere. Ja sam upravo tamo gdje želimo biti iu poziciji za velike godine.”

Niti jedan od vas nije srušen kao profesionalni. Očekujete li da je za promjenu na Ožujak 13?
“Ja stvarno ne očekujem ništa ide u borbu. Ja samo želim da se stavi na velikom showu i staviti na veliku borbu. Daj mi sve.”

Vi ste suočeni s težom oporbu kao pro. Kako vam ostati fokusiran i ne izgleda prošlosti protivnika?
“To je sport boksu i jedan punch može promijeniti bilo koju borbu. Svaki borac ima sposobnost boli me, tako da ne obazirati nikoga. LaManna je neporažena. Nikad nije izgubljeno, tako da ja ne mogu gledati pored njega. Sve se može dogoditi tamo.”

“Znam da je visok i ima dugu doseg. Ja stvarno ne znam što očekivati. Znam da je on sklon zatvoriti pokušati ostati u obrambenom položaju. Moram iskoristiti da se ide u ofenzivu.”

Nakon što ste prevladati kao dječak, Smatrate li preživjela? Jeste boks uštedjeti?
“Ne bih ja baš preživjela u obzir. Ja bih osobno borac u obzir. Imao sam puno u borbi za u mojoj mladosti. Boks mi je pomogao doći do mojih pitanja. To mi daje s nastave i discipline. Oko dobi od 14 I stvarno je preuzeo kontrolu nad svojim životom i postao muškarac. Osjećao sam se kao da sam se morao tretirati kao čovjeka.

“Kad sam bio u drugoj obitelji na 14, moja dva čuvari raspao i bio sam u poziciji gdje mi je trebalo donijeti odluku da odaberete koji put to ići dolje. Ne bih se u poziciji sam ja danas, ako nisam donijeti odluku sam napravio. Nije bilo ljudi oko mene me uputiti u pravom smjeru, Bio sam na svoje. Ako postoje ljudi koji su podršku od mene, Nisam to očekivao. Bio sam u poziciji da sam donio odluku samo za sebe.”

Uzimajući ozbiljno ovdje – tvoja majka je bila i iz vašeg života odrastanja. Koji čuva vas tako odani s njom nakon svega što ste bili do?
“Razumijem činjenicu da svatko ide kroz stvari u svom životu. To je lako reći im ono što bi trebali činiti. Potrebno je puno staviti svoj ponos na stranu to biti obzirni što ljudi idu kroz. Previše ljudi povela prva u odnosu na druge. Uzeo sam korak unatrag i shvatila da se sve događa s razlogom i gledati kako se ispostavilo danas. Moja majka i ja imamo dobar odnos sada, jer sam bio razumijevanje njezina stanja i nije se ništa što je učinio namjerno ili mislite da je to bila usmjerena prema meni.”

Što ste naučili od svog zadnjeg ShoBox boriti odnosu Soro)?. Imate li ga vidjeli kao pozitivan ili negativan?
“I vidjeti borbu s Soro kao pozitivan. U toj borbi sam dobio dolje na težini, Najmanji sam u neko vrijeme. Bio sam u 155 umjesto mog uobičajenog težine 160. Prolijevanja funti zaista imao veliki utjecaj na borbu i shvatio sam da sam u srednjoj i osjećam ugodno na 160.”

To Soro borba se zove većina izvlačenje — je da je razočaranje za vas? Kako ste saznali iz toga?
“Bilo je to veliko razočaranje za mene da biste dobili remi, ali sada znamo da ne ide bilo manje od 160. To je glavna stvar koju smo naučili u toj borbi. Tu je takva stvar kao što je previše discipliniran. Ljudi primijetio kako je mršava sam bio za tu borbu, ali se disciplinirano borac bio sam odlučan da bi težinu. Puno protivnika ne bi uzeli tu borbu, ali to je prilika da sam htjela iskoristiti. Mislio sam da je to dobra odluka na vrijeme, ali sam naučila vrijednu lekciju.”

Ispao si momak je zub u svom prvom ShoBox borbi (Jan. 17, 2014, odnosu Marquis Davis) a tvoja mama je ukrao show u svom posljednjem izgledu. Što imaš u spremištu za gledatelje na Ožujak 13?
“Mislim, Ja sam samo planiranje velikoj borbi. To je sve što mogu jamčiti. Nisam jedan za praznovjerjima [Petak 13.]. Ja samo mogu jamčiti da će biti velika borba.”

Koja je vaša najveća snaga? Jeste li u potrazi za nokaut ili vjerujete li da možete ići 10 kola i dobiti pobjedu na taj način?
“Vjerujem da mogu lupiti po 10 kola, ali to sve ovisi o protivniku. Neki dečki su dovoljno jaki, koji može ići full 10 kola. Idem i pokušati nanijeti najveću količinu štete od otvaranja zvono.

“Moja najveća snaga je moja volja i odlučnost. Postoji nikada trenutak u kojem želim odustati. Čak i ako sam se ozlijedio u ringu, Neću podleći borca. Oni su misli koje prolaze kroz glavu.”

Jerry Odom je i na ovoj kartici i oboje su iz DC području. Ti su izjavili da ste vas dvoje kao cimerima. Što to znači da ga ima na kartici s vama?

To čini da se puno više isplati i ispunjava nas, pogotovo ako oboje smo dobili pobjedu.”

Vaša predviđanja?
“Predviđam pobjedu. Ja sam trenirao i radio je vrlo naporno za to i sam spreman staviti na show.”
