Alexey Nevzorov & Movsar Evloev to fight for Interim M-1 Challenge bantamweight title

MOSKOU (Maart 21, 2017) – M-1 Global has ordered an Interim M-1 Challenge bantamweight title fight, due to a long-term injury to reigning champion Pavel Vitruk, between top contenders Alexey Nevzorov en Movsar Evloev bij M-1 Challenge 76, April 22, in Ingoesjetië, Rusland.
Representing the famed Alexander Nevsky OEMK Team in Stary Oskol, Rusland, the home gym for living legend Fedor Emelianenko, Nevsorov (12-2-0, M-1: 6-1-0) heeft zijn laatste drie gevechten won, including a second-round stoppage of Andrey Lezhnev afgelopen december op M-1 Challenge 73, and a three-round decision last September over oosten Nagibin bij M-1 Challenge 70.
Nevorov (hierboven afgebeeld) will be dropping down in weight from featherweight to bantamweight to fight for the title.
Also Russian fighter, Evloev (6-0-0, M-1: 6-0-0) is coming off the best victory of his young career, positioning himself for this title shot with a three-round decision over his much more experienced foe, American opponent Lee Morrison (see pictured below), bij M-1 Challenge 73.
Known for his tremendous physicality, coupled with an excellent grappling game and diverse striking skill set, Nevzorov has been tabbed as a future MMA star.
A featherweight match between Russian oosten Nagibin (8-2-0, M-1: 4-1-0) en Brazilian Diego D’Avila (18-5-0, M-1: 1-0-0) has also been announced for M-1 Challenge 76.

The 32-year-old Kunchenko (13-0-0, M-1: 6-0-0), fighting out of Tyumen, Rusland, captured the title in his last fight, when defending M-1 Challenge welterweight champion Murad Abdulaev retired during the fourth round this past April at M-1 Challenge 65. Kunchenko (hieronder afgebeeld) is a Muay Thai specialist originally slated to defend his title in a rematch with Abdulaev, who was unable to accept the challenge at this point do to an injury.

Grabovich (4-2-0, M-1: 3-0-0), a fellow Russian, earned his title shot by going undefeated in thre M-1 Challenge fights to date. Known for his Greco-Roman wrestling skills, Grabovich’s last action was in June at M-1 Challenge 68, in which he took a decision against Danill Prikaza in de strijd van de nacht.

New M-1 Challenge lightweight champion Alexander Butenko
BAKU, Azerbeidzjan (Juni 5, 2016) — Ukrainian fighter Alexander Butenko won a hard fought 5-round decision over Artiom Damkovsky last night to become the new M-1 Challenge lightweight champion in the M-1 Challenge 67 main event in Baku, Azerbeidzjan.
Butenko (41-11-2) and Damkovsky (20-10-0) battled from start to finish with Buntenko winning a unanimous decision to capture the vacant M-1 Challenge lightweight title.
In de co-functie, M-1 Challenge kampioen vedergewicht John “Dit is de” Buchinger (31-4-0), Slowakije, used a North-South choke to submit his late replacement opponent, Russisch Mikhail Korobkov (9-2-0), in een niet-titelgevecht.

Mikhail Korobkov (9-1-1, M-1: 0-1-1), van Rusland, is the late replacement for Idrisov but, due to Korobkov coming off of a loss in his last fight (decision to oosten Nagibin last Friday atM-1 Challenge 66), his fight versus Buchinger (30-4-0, M-1: 5-0-0) is a not for the title and it has been downgraded from main event to co-feature. Buchinger, uitvechten van Slowakije, has won his last nine fights dating back four years.

ST. PETERSBURG, Rusland (Mei 2, 2016) – An intriguing fight between a pair of Russian featherweights, Mikhail Korobkov en oosten Nagibin, has been added to the M-1 Challenge 66 evenement, Mei 27 in Orenburg City, Rusland.

Korobkov (9-0-1, M-1: 0-0-1) is coming off of a hard-fought draw with Rodrigo Magalhaes(see above picture) last December at M-1 Challenge 63, in which he had his 9-fight win streak snapped that started with his pro debut.
Nagibin has reeled-off seven consecutive wins since he lost his pro debut. Bij M-1 Challenge 64 afgelopen februari, he won a decision over Andrey Lezhnev. Nagibin is known for his powerful kicks (zie onderstaande afbeelding) and back-fists.
