“BATTLE BORN BOXING” Amateur series returns to Downtown Las Vegas Events Center

Las Vegas-based boxing clubs represented at “Battle Born Boxing: Uprising II” includes Barry’s Boxing, Richard Steel Boxing Club and Johnny Tocco’s Ringside Boxing.
“Battle Born Boxing” was successfully launched April 15 and the amateur boxing series will continue the night before each of the “Knockout Night at the D” series professional boxing events, airing live throughout 2016 on CBS Sports Network from the DLVEC.

די “Battle Born Boxing” series will present amateur boxing events the night before each of the “Knockout Night at the D” series professional events, airing live on CBS Sports Network from the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center (דלוועק).
Created to support amateur boxing in Nevada, “Battle Born Boxing” also provides a platform for amateur boxers from other states to compete against local clubs and boxers.
The inaugural event, “Battle Born Boxing: Uprising”, וועט נעמען אָרט פרייַטיק נאַכט, אַפּריל 15 (סטאַרטינג בייַ 7 פּ.ם. פּט), outdoors at the ונטערשטאָט לאַס וועגאַס עווענץ צענטראַל.

I’ve worked with Derek before and he’s so easy to deal with. Derek has always supported amateur boxing and we’re so grateful because it really helps the community. We’ve had a huge turnout of so many people who want to be involved that I’ve had to cutback the number of matches to 15 אָדער 20. We have some boxers coming from New Mexico and California. Claggett vs. Van Heerden is a crossroads fight for both boxers with critical consequences, especially for the winner who will use it as an invaluable springboard for his boxing career.
The 26-year-old Claggett (23-3-1, 16 קאָס), who is the reigning Canadian Professional Boxing Council and Canadian welterweight champion, is thrilled to be fighting in Las Vegas for the first time. “עס ס אַ חלום קומען אמת,” he explained. “I’ve trained in Las Vegas often but now it’s time to show what I can do there in a fight. “KNOCKOUT NIGHT AT THE D” FIGHT CARD FOR MARCH 12 CANCELLED

לאַס וועגאַס – “Knockout Night at the D,” the boxing fight card to feature headliners Zab Judah vs. Josh Torres at the ונטערשטאָט לאַס וועגאַס עווענץ צענטראַל (דלוועק), has been cancelled for שבת, מאַרץ 12.
Derek Stevens, CEO of די ד לאַס וועגאַס and DLVEC, האט, “Last night, I received multiple calls from the Nevada Athletic Commission regarding eligibility concerns. After our discussions, it became apparent the fight card could not move forward. Although I’m disappointed with the situation, I appreciate the phone calls and look forward to working with the Nevada Athletic Commission on future boxing events at the DLVEC.”
