Webster decisions Riojas in Atlantic City Wins by Seldon, Ajamu, Wikins and Manzueta

Atlantic City, New Jersey (Jona 1, 2018)–Super Middleweight Derrick Webster pounded his way to a 10-round unanimous decision over Oscar Riojas in the main event of a five-bout card at The Claridge Hotel.

 

 

 

Mis Downing Promotions promoted the near-capacity show.

Webster was pinpoint with his jab, which he followed with a solid body work that reddened the sides of Riojas. Webster stunned the gritty Riojas on several occasions, but the visitor from Monterrey, Mexico showed a good chin and remained on his feet for the ten-round bout.

 

 

 

Scores were all 100-90 in favor of Webster of Glassboro, New Jersey, izay ankehitriny 26-1. Riojas is 16-10-1.

Isiah Seldon scored two knockdowns en-route to a six-round unanimous decision over Lamar Harris in a super middleweight bout.

James Wilkins stopped Joe Gbola at the end of round two of their scheduled four-round featherweight bout.

 

 

 

Wilkins dropped Gbolo midway through the 2nd round, and then pounded on his opponent for the rest of the round. The bout was stopped in between rounds.

 

 

 

Wilkins of Brooklyn, NY is 4-0 amin'ny 4 knockouts. Gbolo of Newbergh, NY is 3-3-2.

The card took place on Atlantic City Hall of Fame weekend, and stars such as Roy Jones Jr., Riddick Bowe, Evander Holyfield, Hector Camacho Jr., Bruce Seldon, Mark Breland, Marlon Starling, Michael Spinks and Jeff Chandler were among the dignitaries that were sitting ringside.

Atlantic City, New Jersey (Martsa 12, 2018)–Chazz Witherspoon raised his winning streak to eight in a row as he went the eight-round distance by won a unanimous decision over Lamont Capers that headlined a seven-bout card at The Claridge Hotel in Atlantic City.
The show, which took place this past Asabotsy, was promoted by Mis Downing Promotions and Silverspoon Promotions.
Witherspoon was able to outpoint the crafty Capers. Capers was very competitive, but it was Witherspoon’s size and harder punches that proved to be the difference as he captured the via 78-74, 78-74 ary 77-75 maro.
Witherspoon ny Paulsboro, NJ is now 37-3. Capers, who was fighting for the 2nd time in seven days dia 9-12-4.
Willis Lockett took a six-round majority decision over Prince Badi Ajamu in a cruiserweight bout.
Lockett of Takoma Park, MD won by scores of 59-55, 58-56 ary 57-57, ary ankehitriny 16-22-6. Ajamu of Camden, NJ dia 28-4-1.
Faran'izay maivana John Bauza remained undefeated with a six-round unanimous decision over David Morales.
Bauza of North Bergen, NJ won on all cards by scores of 60-54, ary ankehitriny 9-0. Morales of Managua, Nicaragua dia 13-9.
Mike Hilton won a three-round technical unanimous decision over Hector Perez.
The fight was a terrific back and forth brawl when Perez suffered a cut over his right eye in the third frame.
Perez almost made a quick night for himself as he dropped Hilton in the 1st round. Hilton stormed back to register his own knockdown’s in round two and three.

Edgar Cortés won a four-round unanimous decision over Kevin Asmat in a featherweight bout.

Dan Murray and Latorrie Woodberry fought to a no-contest when Woodberry hurt his shoulder in the 1st round of their scheduled four-round welterweight bout.

The WitherspoonSheppard bout will headline a nine-bout card, promoted by Mis Downing Promotions and Silver Spoon Promotions.

Witherspoon will be making his first start since stopping Carlos Sandoval in the 4th round on October 1, 2016.

In Sheppard, Witherspoon is taking on a veteran, who has fought a handful of top heavyweights.

I want to stay as busy as possible, so I can be ready for big fights. I am closing in on 40 Fandresena, so with the heavyweight division getting hot again, I feel with my record, that I should be able to get into the mix. I always like fighting in Atlantic City. Atlantic City, New Jersey (Janoary 25, 2018)–Mis Downing promotions is primed for a big year in 2018.
The New Jersey based promotion staged it’s inaugural events in Pennsylvania and New Jersey in 2017, and already has four dates on the schedule for 2018.
The 1st of those events will take place amin'ny sabotsy alina, March 10th ao amin'ny The Claridge Hotel any Atlantic City.
We are very excited for a great year of boxing,” said Mis Downing. “We have a tremendous event planned for March 10th where I will be co-promoting with Silver Spoon Promotions, and have Chazz Witherspoon in the main event. We have some of the best fighters in the area that will make up a great undercard.
The full card and ticket information for the March 10th show will be announced next week.
We have at least three more dates, and we want to feature great fights while providing the fans with terrific entertainment. We are also about to announce the signing of some terrific fighters that we plan to build and feature on our events. We are looking to bring a lot of shows to Atlantic City, and I want to congratulate the new mayor Frank Gilliam on his inauguration.
We are also looking forward to working with with Roy Jones, Jr. indray. In 2017,we did a great show co-promoting with him in August, and we already have a commitment to do another show with him in Atlantic City.

Atlantic City, NJ (Janoary 30, 2017)–Thomas “Cornflake” LaManna looked sharp as he pitched a shutout, and won a 8-round unanimous decision over Eduardo Flores in front of a capacity crowd at the Claridge Hotel in Atlantic City.
The fight was the 6th consecutive sellout crowd at the venue under the Rising Promotions banner.

LaManna used his length, and was effective with his jab as he set up solid body work with both hands and came upstairs to befuddle the 53-fight veteran.

LaManna settled into a groove in the middle rounds, and showed confidence in his punches. LaManna did a nice job mixing up his boxing and his willingness to trade on the inside, for which he got the better of the action on both accounts.
I felt great being back in the ring. My last fight definitely taught me a lot about myself and what I could do, and I used it in this fight. This guy is tough man, I had him hurt quite a few times with both body and head shots but he somehow survived,” hoy LaManna.

Michael Mitchell scored an upset by out-hustling Chuck Mussachio over 6-rounds of their light heavyweight bout, and gaining a majority decision victory.

Mitchell buckled and wobbled Mussachio, who was on the defensive throughout the contest. Mussachio was able to land an occasional jab and uppercut, but Mitchell swarmed the popularProfessoras he was relentless in smothering and battering Mussachio against the ropes.

Mitchell ny Paterson, New Jersey won by scores of 60-53, 58-56 and one card read even at 57-57.

Mitchell is 4-7-2. Mussachio of Wildwood, NJ dia 19-4-2.

Gabriel Pham scored a sensational 2nd round stoppage over Jose Valderrama in a scheduled 6-round super middleweight bout.

Pham landed a perfect left that sent Valdrrama thudding to the canvas. Valderrama got up but the bout was waved off a 2:50.

Mussachio, who won a unanimous decision over Willis Lockett last May 27th. That nout was his first bout after a three-plus year off.
I tried to get away from boxing, but something brought me back,” said Mussachio. “I am happy to be on a card back in Atlantic City.
This will be Mussachio’s 17th fight in Atlantic City.
Pham is on the rebound following his loss to Christopher Brooker on Last July 9th in Trenton, New Jersey.
Like most fighters, Pham chalked up the loss to Brooker as a learning experience.
“Efa tena mafy mampiofana. What I learned in the Brooker fight is that I always need to be in shape. The skills don’t leave you, but I need to stay in shape. I am just 27, so I need to take a nice slow progress. It is always nice to fight home. I don;t know much about Valderrama other then he is a journeyman and he won’t give up.

Flores has been in with numerous world champions,” said LaManna of Flores, who has competed with the likes of Kermit Cintron Carlos Baldomir and Diego Chaves. “He is a rugged veteran, and has only been stopped a handful of times, and the last time that happened, he was fighting a middleweight. He will come to fight. I am looking to one-up all the champions that he has fought.
To do that, LaManna is looking to take a relaxed approach, and he is not going into the fight looking for a knockout.
I believe in my boxing skills, ring generalship and I will get the job done. I plan a smart 8 natokana ho amin'ny karazana ady totohondry. Atlantic City Boxing Hall of Fame and Claridge Hotel looking to bring boxing back to the boardwalk

Atlantic City, NJ (Febroary 1, 2016) – The Atlantic City Boxing Hall of Fame is proud to announce it’s alliance with with the Claridge Hotel in Atlantic City, NJ that will constitute bringing 6 events to the Historic Hotel in 2016.

Four of the events will be fight nights promoted by Rising Promotions, in the Celebrity Theatre venue with the first event being held on Asabotsy Martsa 19, 2016

Two other major events are being planned which includes the inaugural induction class set for this fall as well as signature events that will appeal to boxing fans around the world.

The Atlantic City Boxing Hall of Fame has assisted various promoters over the past two years in securing events and venues and will continue it’s effort to restore the shore community to being a mecca and destination for future boxing events.
