Philadelphia’s most viewed fighter, Christian Carto takes on 37 fight veteran Antonio Rodriguez on Friday, November 9th at SugarHouse Casino

Philadelphia, Penn. (November 2, 2018)–Millions of travelers drive on Interstate-95 each day. In each direction there are many billboards that are visible for miles. For the better part of the last month, two billboards in particular feature one of the hottest prospects in boxing in undefeated bantamweight Christian Carto.

 

 

 

Carto, who has been featured multiple times by SugarHouse Casino kot 21 year-old has developed a relationship with the casino as he has packed the fight venue on seven previous occasions.

 

 

 

“It’s really cool to see me up on these big billboards,” said Carto. “I didn’t know they were going up, but it is very exciting to see it.”

 

 

 

Those massive billboards can only enhance Carto’s already huge fan base.

 

 

On petek zvečer, November 9th, Carto will make his eighth appearance at SugarHouse Casino when he takes on 37 fight-veteran Antonio Rodriguez in the six-round main event of a seven bout card promoted by King’s Promotions.

 

 

 

Carto has signature victories over Alonso Melendez (14-1) and James Smith (12-1). Carto is coming off a eight-round unanimous decision over Javier Gallo on August 18th in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

 

 

 

Rodriguez of Durango, Mexico is a very capable foe as the 30 year-old has big wins over undefeated opponents Alonso Melendez (11-0); Junior Granados (12-0) and Luis Castro (7-0-2). Rodriguez also has wins over Jonathan Chavez (6-1-1), Granados (12-2-1).

 

 

 

“I don’t know too much about him,” continued Carto, “I know he is a Mexican fighter who likes to come forward. We share a common opponent in Alonso Melendez. I have seen that he is tough.”

 

 

 

This will be the 4th outing of 2018 for Carto, and with a win he will raise his mark to 2019, but the 21 year-old is continuing his learning process as he heads into the new year.

 

 

 

“I feel that I started off well in 2018. I always want to do better, and I am own biggest critic. I feel that I should have done better in my last two fights. This training camp, which is my 2nd camp with Billy Briscoe as my head trainer, I learned a lot, so I know I will do better.”

 

 

 

With Brisoce manning the corner, Carto sees himself getting better with each fight in 2019.

 

 

 

“I can definitely see myself fighting for a regional title in 2019, but I am still earning, so there is no rush. With being with Billy, I would like to go out to a training camp with one of the champions to help them get ready for a big, which will help me even more.”

 

 

 

“I just want to thank Billy as well as my brother Frankie who has helped me a lot with the training. My father who helps with all the tickets and ticket requests. I also had some great sparring with a Romuel Cruz. I am ready for a great fight.

 

 

 

In a rematch of a draw that took place on August 10th at SugarHouse Casino, Ricardo Garcia (14-3-1, 9 Kos) Santo Domingo, DR fights Tyrone Crawley (7-1-1) of Philadelphia in a eight-round junior welterweight fight.

Garcia, 140.7 lbs of Dominican Republic is 14-3-1. Crawley, Jr., 138.5 lbs of Philadelphia, PA 7-1-1.

Eric Moon won an eight-round unanimous decision over Christopher Brooker in a super middleweight bout.

Moon used quick combination that scored well over the second half of the fight that swelled the left eye of Brooker.

Moon, 167.9 lbs of Marieta, GA won by scores of 78-74 in 77-75 twice to raise his record to 8-1. Brooker, 169 lbs of Philadelphia is now 13-6.

Poindexter Knight remained undefeated by winning a six-round unanimous decision over Gregory Averil Young in a welterweight bout.
Knight was in control of the bout and then in round five with a powerful right hook. Knight landed several more hard shots, but was unable to finish him,.

Knight, 149.9 lbs of Philadelphia won on all cards by 60-53 tallies, in je sedaj 5-0. Young, 147.4 lbs of Hoover, AL is 4-1.

Philadelphia, Penn. (Maj 14, 2018)–This past Friday night, junior welterweight Mykal Fox remained perfect by winning a eight-round unanimous decision over Anthony Mercado.

 

 

The bout headlined an eight-fight card at SugarHouse Casino, and was promoted by King’s Promotions.

 

 

Fox Forestville, Maryland controlled the action by using his long reach that set up combination punching. The 22 year-old was solid throughout, and cruised home to the victory by scores of 79-73 Dvakrat 78-74.

 

 

Fox is now 17-0, Mercado of Camuy, Puerto Rico is 11-4.

 

 

“The Fighting Ring Announcer” Alex Barbosa came back after a nearly two-year layoff to win a four-round unanimous decision over Sergio Aguilar in a super bantamweight bout.

 

Barbosa of Philadelphia won by scores of 40-36 in 39-37 twice to raise his mark to 6-3-1. Aguilar of Homestead, Florida is 2-8.

 


 

Romuel Cruz bloodied the nose of Bryann Perez on his way to a four-round unanimous decision in a super bantamweight bout.

 

Cruz of Philadelphia won by scores of 40-36 Dvakrat 39-37 to stay undefeated at 2-0. Perez of Carolina, Puerto Rico falls to 2-10-1.

 


New King’s Promotions signee, Anvar Yusunov shook of a flash knockdown to win a four-round unanimous decision over Deo Kizito in a super featherweight bout.

 

 

V krogu treh, Kizito landed a straight left that made Yusunov’s glove hit the canvas. It was Yusunov’s power shots that bloodied the nose of Kizito, and was the difference in the fight.

 

 

Yusunov, who is a three-time Olympian from Tajikistan won by scores of 40-36, 39-37 in 38-37 to improve to 2-0. Kizito of Dubai, United Arab Emirates is 3-2.

 

 

Jerrod Miner and Desmond Moore battled to a four-round split draw in a bantamweight contest.

 

 

Each fighter won a scorecard 39-37 and a third card was even at 38-38.

 

 

Miner of Philadelphia is 1-1-2. Moore of Bethlehem, PA is 1-0-1.

Michael coffie remained undefeated by stopping Lamar Lewis in the first round of their scheduled four round heavyweight bout.

 

 

Coffie landed a big combination to the top of the head that sent Lewis down, and the fight was stopped 75 seconds into the fight.

 

 

Coffie of Brooklyn is 3-0 s 2 Knockouts. Lewis of Conway, Arkansas is 0-2.

 

 

 

Joel Flores of Christopher Burgos fought to a spirited four-round majority draw in a junior lightweight bout.

 

 

Flores of Passaic, New Jersey won a card 39-37, but that was overruled by two 38-38 kartice.

 

 

Flores is 0-0-2. Burgos of Philadelphia is 0-2-1.

Branje, PA (Januar 8, 2018)– Rising super middleweight prospect, Brandon Robinson will take on 18-fight veteran Juan Zapata in a six-round bout as part of Evander Holyfield’s Real Deal Showcase 1 na Petek, January 26th at The SugarHouse Casino.

Robinson is promoted by King’s Promotions.
“I want to thank Marshall Kauffman of King’s Promotions for grooming me to be a world champion, and allowing me to be on this card,” said Robinson. “Zapata is a solid fighter, who likes to be aggressive. I am just looking to stay high and tight in our defense, and stay sharp, and it should be a nice fight.”
Robinson of Upper Darby, Pennsylvania has a record of 8-1 with six knockouts, with those eight wins coming in a row.
The 29 year-old is coming off the biggest win of his career as he won an eight-round unanimous decision over respected Christopher Brooker on December 1st at The 2300 Arena v Philadelphii.
Robinson also has a first-round knockout over previously undefeated Brandon Clark (2-0) on September 8th, 2017. Robinson completed a perfect 2017, by registering all eight of his wins during last calendar year.
In Zapata, Robinson is taking on a 12-year veteran who has faced eight undefeated opponents. The 33 year-old Zapata is a native of Bronx, New York by way of Honduras.
Zapata is looking for his 2nd consecutive win, as he is coming off a 2nd round stoppage over Freddy Oporta on September 30th in Honduras.
