Steele spoils Upsher’s comeback bid

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania…. “Right idea, wrong fight”, those were the words of Dallas welterweight, Jonathan Steele who gained his 8th victory as a professional on WFC 87 at Meadows Racetrack and Casino. Steele, who entered the ring Şənbə günü ilə 9 fights under his belt squared off against the seasoned veteran, Steven Upsher, 25-5-1(6kos), who was attempting a comeback bid in front of his hometown crowd.

Steele dominated the fight from the opening bell, banging Upsher to the body, which ultimately led to the 31 fight veteran to quit in the 5th round of their scheduled 8 Dəyirmi bout.

“We took the fight on a two week notice. My initial fight on May 18th was canceled, and Upsher’s opponent pulled out at the last minute. I didn’t care what his record was, or who he fought. I knew he had never faced a guy like me before.” Steele added.

The 27-year old former United States Marine is managed by Dallas based boxing manager, Adrian Clark.

In a six-round Super Middleweight bout Farah Ennis (21-2, 12 KO-nin) will make his return to the ring after a 22 month hiatus when he takes on Michael Gbenga (20-19, 20 KO-nin)
Ennis, who was last seen dropping a 10-round unanimous decision to new WBC Super Middleweight champion Badou Jack, is looking to get back into contention with a big outing over the veteran from Ghana.
“Training yaxşı olmuşdur. I only know that Gbenga is from Ghana,” said Ennis.
After what Ennis admitted was a lackluster performance against Jack, he needed some time away from the sport in order to get himself back on track.
“I took the time off to get my mind together. In that fight I didn’t let my hands go. I was thinking too much and I know I could have beat him. It just wasn’t my night.”
Ennis also took the time off to get into some training camps and improve on his own game.
“I was in camp with David Lemieux for when he fought Gabriel Rosado. It was during that time I got my head back and now is where I need to be. I need to go out and listen to my dad (Trainer Bozy Ennis). I am in 32 indi yaşı var. Bu deyil. It is either all or nothing.”
“I just hope everyone comes out and supports as I am looking to put on a show and start the next phase of my career.”

Reading De Alba, PA has been one of the hottest fighters on the East Coast as he has won 13 straight bouts and is unbeaten since dropping his professional debut in 2011.

Inn Philadelphia, King’s Promotions presents a great night of championship boxing that will headlined by 10-round UBF Lightweight championship bout between Frankie De Alba (15-1-2, 5 KO-nin) və Bernardo Gomez Uribe (14-3, 10 KO-nin).
In one of the 8-round co-features, Steve Upsher Chambers (24-4-1, 6 KO-nin) returns to the city where he cut his teeth as a professional to take on Alejandro Rodriguez (24-16-1, 14 KO-nin) a Jr da. Welter Siklet bout.
Chambers, who came originally to Philadelphia with former Heavyweight title challenger, “Sürətli” Eddie Chambers, mübarizə 23 times and the famed Blue Horizon in Philadelphia and will be making his first start in the City of Brotherly Love in almost 6 il.
“I have been training hard and working on opening my new gym with (Yüngül iddiaçı) Rod Salka,” said Upsher.
“I am on weight already and I feel good. We will be fighting at 142 manat.”

On the veteran opponent, Rodriguez, Upsher said, “I know he is tough and from Mexico. I will look at a little film before the fight and go from there. I really don’t worry about what he will do. He should worry about me. This fight is redemption for me. It’s a start and then I would like to right all of the losses.
