Salamov Defends Championships with Unanimous Decision over Ghana’s Anim in Sochi, Росія

У Суботу, Грудня 1, at the Galaktika Culture Centre in Sochi, Росія, Umar Salamov will defend his Eurasian Boxing Parliament and WBO International Light Heavyweight Championships when he faces once-beaten Emmanuel “Horse Power” Anim in an explosive 10-round showdown.

Salamov (22-1, 17 КО), from Alkhan-Kala, Росія, is currently ranked WBC #10, WBA #13, IBF #7 and WBO #10 в світі. Anim (13-1-1, 11 КО), from Accra, Гана, is a former Ghanaian Super Middleweight and Light Heavyweight Champion. The fight will also be televised live in Russia on Match TV.

“I take every fight seriously,” said Salamov. “My preparations have been excellent for this match. I scored a KO in all my wins this year and I’ll do it again on December 1.”

Salamov caught the boxing public’s eye in North America last June with a brutal one-punch knockout over respectable prospect Brian Howard. With top-10 rankings by every major sanctioning body, it’s a matter of time for the 24-year-old slugger.

“The light heavyweight division is one of the most talent-packed in boxing,” said Salamov’s promoter, Дмитро Саліта. “Umar is one of the best in the world and with an impressive victory on December 1, he will be one step closer to reaching his goal of becoming a world champion.”

СОЧІ, Росія (Травня 21, 2017) – Two-time M-1 Challenge Light Heavyweight Champion Віктор Немков has positioned himself for another title shot, defeating Brazilian challenger Ронні Маркес, last Friday night in the M-1 Challenger 77 main event at Sochi, Росія.

Eleven exciting fights were held with athletes representing 10 different countries in true International competition: Росія, Бразилія, США, Іспанія, Португалія, Німеччина, Білорусь, Україна, Грузія, and Azerbajjan.

In a fascinating battle between unbeaten American lightweight “Motown” Moses Murrieta і Росії Andrey Seledtsov (6-4-0, М-1: 0-3-0), Murietta (5-0-0, М-1: 1-0-) won a hard-fought three-round unanimous decision in his M-1 Global debut. “My opponent never gave up, he’s a strong opponent, Murietta remarked. “I always work on physical training. I wanted to finish the fight early, but maybe next time. I signed a six-fight contract with M-1 Global. The atmosphere here in Sochi and the fans are excellent.”

A native of Kazakhstan fighting out of Russia, Немков (24-6-0, М-1: 17-5-0) has once again fought his way back to the top of the M-1 light heavyweight class.
