Salamov Defends Championships with Unanimous Decision over Ghana’s Anim in Sochi, Oroszország

Szombaton, December 1, at the Galaktika Culture Centre in Sochi, Oroszország, Umar Salamov will defend his Eurasian Boxing Parliament and WBO International Light Heavyweight Championships when he faces once-beaten Emmanuel “Horse Power” Anim in an explosive 10-round showdown.

Salamov (22-1, 17 KO), from Alkhan-Kala, Oroszország, is currently ranked WBC #10, WBA #13, IBF #7 and WBO #10 a világban. Anim (13-1-1, 11 KO), from Accra, Ghána, is a former Ghanaian Super Middleweight and Light Heavyweight Champion. The fight will also be televised live in Russia on Match TV.

“I take every fight seriously,” said Salamov. “My preparations have been excellent for this match. I scored a KO in all my wins this year and I’ll do it again on December 1.”

Salamov caught the boxing public’s eye in North America last June with a brutal one-punch knockout over respectable prospect Brian Howard. With top-10 rankings by every major sanctioning body, it’s a matter of time for the 24-year-old slugger.

“The light heavyweight division is one of the most talent-packed in boxing,” said Salamov’s promoter, Dmitriy Salita. “Umar is one of the best in the world and with an impressive victory on December 1, he will be one step closer to reaching his goal of becoming a world champion.”

SOCHI, Oroszország (Május 21, 2017) – Two-time M-1 Challenge Light Heavyweight Champion Viktor Nemkov has positioned himself for another title shot, defeating Brazilian challenger Ronny Markes, last Friday night in the M-1 Challenger 77 main event at Sochi, Oroszország.

Eleven exciting fights were held with athletes representing 10 different countries in true International competition: Oroszország, Brazília, USA, Spanyolország, Portugália, Németország, Belarus, Ukrajna, Grúzia, and Azerbajjan.

ST. PETERSBURG, Oroszország (Május 10, 2017) – Former two-time M-1 Challenge light heavyweight champion Viktor Nemkov will take on M-1 Global-debuting Ronny Markes, Május 19, a M-1 Challenge 77 main event at Sochi, Oroszország.

In his last fight this past February, Markes choked out 15-4-0 Tony Lopez in the opening round of their King of the Cage super heavyweight championship match. Markes is a UFC and World Series of Fighting veteran

A M-1 Challenge 77 main card is stacked with entertaining, evenly-matched fights, including a potentially explosive throw-down between undefeated Russian middleweight prospect Artiom Frolov (8-0-0, M-1: 5-0-0) and always dangerous Talekh “Az Azerbajdzsán Terminator” Nadzhafzade (5-1-1 (M-1: 2-0-1).
