New M-1 Challenge lightweight champion Alexander Butenko
BAKU, Azerio (Junio 5, 2016) — Ukrainian fighter Aleksandro Butenko won a hard fought 5-round decision over Artiom Damkovsky last night to become the new M-1 Challenge lightweight champion in the M-1 Defio 67 main event in Baku, Azerio.
Butenko (41-11-2) and Damkovsky (20-10-0) battled from start to finish with Buntenko winning a unanimous decision to capture the vacant M-1 Challenge lightweight title.

ST. PETERSBURG, Rusio (Junio 1, 2016) – A sudden illness has forced Magomed Idrisov to withdraw from his scheduled M-1 Challenge featherweight title fight #?I tiu sabato (Junio 4) against defending champion Ivan “Buki” Buchinger #?E M-1 Defio 67: Battle in the Land of Fireat Baku, Azerio.

Miĥail Korobkov (9-1-1, M-1: 0-1-1), De Rusio, is the late replacement for Idrisov but, due to Korobkov coming off of a loss in his last fight (decision to Timur Nagibin last Friday atM-1 Defio 66), his fight versus Buchinger (30-4-0, M-1: 5-0-0) is a not for the title and it has been downgraded from main event to co-feature. Buchinger, batalante ekster Slovakio, has won his last nine fights dating back four years.

Also announced is a fight between undefeated Kazakh welterweight prospect Shavkat Rakjmonov and Brazilian veteran Carlos Alexandre “Indio” piro.

Buchinger (30-4-0, M-1: 5-0-0), fighting out of his native Slovakia, captured the vacant M-1 Challenge featherweight title 1-½ years ago at M-1 Defio 52, Haltanta Tural Ragimov (see picture below) in the fourth round on punches. His lone title defense last October was a decision win over current M-1 Challenge lightweight championMansour Barnaoui #?E M-1 Defio 62. Undefeated in his last nine fights, dating back four years, Buchinger is 5-0 en M-1 Tutmonda konkurado.
Fighting out of Russia, Idrisov (6-0-0, M-1: 3-0-0) is the European Wu-Sanda champion. He has three wins in M-1 Global fights, including a pair of notable decisions over Max Coga last May at M-1 Defio 57, and in his last fight this past December against Sergej Grecicho (see picture below) #?E M-1 Defio 61.
Rakhmonov vs. Pereira is a classic clash between young and old, Combat Sambo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu specialists.
The 21-year-old Rakhmonov (5-0-0, M-1: 3-0-0) was a decorated MMA amateur who has won two Submission of the Night honors in only three M-1 Global events againstMichal Wienek last July at M-1 Defio 59, and versus Adam Tsurpov (pictured below) Oktobro 17, 2014 in Rakhmonov’s professional debut.

piro, 37, won Submission of the Night in his only M-1 Global fight to date, last September against Ruslan Zhemuklkov (see picture below) #?E M-1 Defio 61.
