SECOND WOMEN’S FIGHT ANNOUNCED FOR NEF 36 IN PORTLAND, MAJNO

Novaj Angliaj Bataloj (NEF) will hold its final mixed-martial-arts event of 2018, “NEF 36: Battle for the Gold,” Sabate, Novembro 17 at Aura in Portland, Majno. Diagnosed with Type-1 juvenile diabetes in 1993, Garceau became an inspiration to those within the diabetic community looking to practice the martial arts. #?E “NEF 32” last February, she went the distance with Sarah Ziehm (1-2) in a back-and-forth contest, ultimately picking up the win via split-decision on the judges’ scorecards. Garceau is a member of Young’s MMA based in Bangor, Majno.

“When Coach (Chris) Young asked me if I was free November 17th, I thought he wanted me to be the water girl for the guys on the card,” Garceau quipped. “I say this jokingly, but we’ve had some struggles finding match ups for the Young’s WMMA (women’s mixed-martial-arts) team in the past. Me and my girls are hungry to fight. So when he asked if I’d fight Chelsea, who is a warrior that doesn’t back down from anything, of course my answer was ‘yes.’ I adore Chelsea and am ready to put on a hell of a show for the fans, my team and the beautiful city of Portland, Maine this November.”

The casual observer should not let Chelsea Tucker’s record fool them. Scrappy, talented and full of heart, Tucker has come to fight each time she has stepped in the cage. She has appeared four times in the NEF cage, including a non-sanctioned grappling match with Carol Linn Powell that went to a draw last April in Portland. Tucker proudly serves her country as a culinary specialist with the United States Coast Guard stationed in Boothbay, Majno. She trains with First Class MMA in Brunswick, Majno.

“I am very excited to step back into the cage,” said Tucker. “I look forward to fighting B.J. Ĉi tuj estos granda lukto, and I look forward to representing my gym and my skill set again in the NEF cage.”

STACKED FIGHT CARD OPENS THE YEAR FOR NEF IN LEWISTON

Lewiston, Majno (Januaro 11, 2017) ??Ew Angliaj Bataloj (NEF) returns to the Androscoggin Bank Colisee on Februaro 11, 2017 with its next mixed-martial-arts event, “NEF 27: RESURGENCE.” Pli frue hodiaŭ, the fight promotion announced the full card for the event. Headlining the evening will be the semi-finals of the tournament to crown a new professional lightweight champion. The title was vacated when previous champion Devin Powell (8-1) signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Ryan Sanders (12-8) Prenos sur John Ortolani (8-10) Dum Jon Lemke (5-7) #Viza?o Jesse Erickson (9-5) in a rematch from Bellator 93. The winners of those two bouts will meet in the finals tentatively scheduled for “NEF 28” later this year.

 

In a highly-anticipated heavyweight bout, Ras Hylton (0-0) faros sian profesian debuton kontraŭ Mike Hansen (5-4). The 6’6″ Hylton, #A? “Rasquatch” as he is known amongst his fans, was voted the “2016 Rookie of the Year” by NEF fans after going 3-0 kiel amatoro. Hansen was a Maine state wrestling champion for Mountain Valley High School (MVHS), and he has developed quite a reputation for downing larger opponents on both the mats and the MMA cage. Hansen was the recipient of the “2016 Submission of the Year” premio.

BROTHER AND SISTER MMA FIGHTERS RETURN TO CAGE AT NEF 27

Lewiston, Majno (Decembro 15, 2016) ??Ew Angliaj Bataloj (NEF) returns to the Androscoggin Bank Colisee on Februaro 11, 2017 with its next mixed-martial-arts event, “NEF 27: RESURGENCE.” Pli frue hodiaŭ, the fight promotion announced the addition of two amateur bouts to the card. Ryan Burgess (2-1) Batalos Justin Witham (2-4) in a flyweight contest while his sister, Nicole Burgess (0-1), Prenas sur Sarah Ziehm (0-0) in the strawweight division.

 

This will not be the first time the Burgess siblings have competed on an NEF card together. Last June at “NEF 24,” Ryan and Nicole would taste defeat at the hands of Dustin Veinott (5-4) and Alex Walker (2-1), Respektive. They will look to redeem themselves on Februaro 11.

 

“I’m super excited to get my sister back in the cage on the same card as me,” said Ryan Burgess. “She has always been a competitor and being able to train side by side with her throughout this fight camp will help me as much as it will help her. She is tough as nails and everything I will be helping her learn over the next two months will just reinforce the knowledge I have already obtained from my coaches. Her debut was against a seasoned fighter in Alex Walker and I can’t wait to see her take home her first win on February 11th.”

 

Ryan and Nicole are based out of the Berserkers MMA camp in Rumford, Majno. They grew up in neighboring Mexico, Majno. Ryan was a three-time state wrestling champion out of Mountain Valley High School, while Nicole, a multi-sport athlete, also wrestled and excelled in field hockey. She has continued her field hockey career at Plymouth State University. Ryan captured the NEF MMA Flyweight Title last year. Both siblings are confident that Nicole can replicate his success in the cage.

 

“Training with my brother is both a challenge and a blessing,” said Nicole. “We’ll get on each other’s nerves, but at the end of the day we want each other to succeed. Plus, he’s a good partner to have on your team.”

 

Ryan’s bout at “NEF 27” will be a rematch. In their first meeting, he defeated Justin Witham via unanimous decision at “NEF 18” in the summer of 2015.

 

“Rematching Witham will be a perfect opportunity for me to showcase the huge strides I have made over the last year and a half since the beginning of my MMA career. He is a really tough dude and I know he will show up for a war, but I have made huge improvements in all aspects of my game since adding Jason Bell to my corner and I will be the one to decide the outcome of this fight. I will control the pace of the fight and whether I want to take it to him on the feet or take him down and submit him, there is nothing he will be able to do to stop me. This fight will not go three rounds.”

 

Justin Witham is a member of the Shatterproof Combat Club. Since his loss to Burgess, Witham has gone 2-1 including an impressive submission win over Conner Murphy (1-1) in his most recent outing. Witham is certain that he can defeat Burgess in the rematch.

 

“I’ve been wanting this fight since the second our first fight was over,” exclaimed Witham. “I can and will win!”

 

As for Nicole, she will be taking on the debuting Sarah Ziehm. Ziehm is a member of Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ) based in nearby Auburn, Majno.

 

“I’m looking forward to getting back into the cage,” said Nicole. “I think my first fight was a good learning experience and I got out all my nerves that I didn’t expect to have. Nun, it’s my turn to come out with a ‘W’ for my team.”
