Because a large crowd is expected, only Ring 8 members will be allowed to attend this meeting, but membership may be obtained at the door for those interested in joining Ring 8.
“Evander Holyfield is one of the few living legends in our sport,” Anell 8 president Jack Hirsch dit. “Així, you can imagine how thrilled we are to have him as a guest speaker. We had planned to present Holyfield with the Ring 8 Legends Award at our holiday banquet, but a lucrative business opportunity will prohibit him from being there that afternoon. Holyfield has retired as a boxer with an outstanding 44-10-2 (29 KOs), but this past year he has operated a New York City-based promotional company, Real Deal Boxing. A U.S. Olímpic, Holyfield is the only unified world cruiserweight champion, as well as a four-time heavyweight champion of the world.

Caleb Plant Talks Ring Return, Sparring George Groves, Commentating Debut

A sensational Cuban amateur, Ugas picked up a bronze medal at the 2008 Olympics and also owns gold medals from the 2005 World Amateur Championships and 2007 Jocs Panamericans. Now fighting out of Miami, the 30-year-old looks to further establish his credentials for a world title shot.
Ghvamichava returns to the ring after an emphatic knockout of Breidis Prescott in July that saw him move up in weight and rebound from a defeat to top unbeaten contender Sergey Lipinets. Trained by Virgil Hunter in California, Ghvamichava is originally from Poti, Geòrgia. Before the Lipinets bout, he carried a five-fight winning streak that included wins over previously unbeaten fighters Chris Singleton and Jonathan Garcia plus veterans Cosme Rivera and Sergio Reyes.

Boxing’s Return after Almost 20 Years Overwhelming Success
Los Angeles – Lliga de Campions de Boxa (PBC) brought championship boxing back to FOX in prime timeDissabte night after an almost 20-year absence and delivered a resounding ratings knockout. The PBC on FOX, headlined by an intense 12-round battle for the vacant welterweight title between victor Danny Garcia and Robert Guerrero, delivered PBC’s best audience since April 2015.
Fueled by three exciting bouts, the PBC on FOX averaged a 1.5/3 household rating/share with 2.5 million viewers from 8:00 – 10:37 PM ET, segons Nielsen, +36% in rating and +39% in audience compared to PBC’s last primetime telecast (1.1/2, 1.8 million viewers on NBC, 12/12/15).
Ratings and viewership built throughout the evening’s broadcast. FOX’s first bout featuring a hard-hitting heavyweight bout between Dominic Breazeale and Amir Mansour delivered a 1.3/2 amb 2.2 milions d'espectadors, while ratings increased slightly for Sammy Vasquez’s TKO win over Aron Martinez with a 1.4/2, amb 2.2 milions d'espectadors. Cosio to Face Barrionuevo in WBC Welterweight Tournament Quarter Final on Saturday, Gener 30, a Mèxic

The WBC Welterweight Tournament will continue on Saturday, Gener 30, when Azael “Turbo” Cosio (20-3-2, 17 KOs) of Santa Marta, Panamà, faces Cesar Miguel “El Zurdo” Barrionuevo (28-3-2, 19 KOs) of Catamarca, Argentina.
The winner of this fight will face Pennsylvania’s Sammy “The Who Can mexicana” Vasquez in the semi-final in late Spring.
Promoted by Sampson Lewkowicz of Sampson Boxing and Reginaldo and Oswaldo Kuchle of Promociones del Pueblo, the 12-round Cosio vs. Barrionuevo showdown will be held at Hotel Ixtapa Azul, in Guerrero, Mèxic, and will be televised live on Mexico’s Televisa and TyC Sports of Argentina.
According to Lewkowicz, in the other leg of the tournament, new WBC Welterweight Champion Danny Garcia has been mandated to face Amir Khan. The winner of that fight will then face the winner of the Cosio/Barrionuevo vs. Vasquez semi-final fight.
“This tournament is a great move by the WBC,” Said Sampson Lewkowicz. “I’m very happy for the great opportunity that the WBC has given all the participants to compete for the prestigious green belt.”
Lewkowicz says he loves the tournament format to unclog the top levels of the welterweight division and is looking forward to their next move, a super welterweight tournament beginning in late Spring.
“What the WBC is doing is good for boxing and gives some talented fighters their chance to fight for a championship they might otherwise be forced to wait years for or be shut out of totally. I commend them for this move.”

Los Angeles, TAL COM (Gener 23, 2016) Before a crowd of 12,052 at STAPLES Center in downtown Los Angeles, Danny “Ràpid” García, (32-0, 18 KOs) of Philadelphia won a unanimous 12-round decision over Gilroy, Calif.’s Robert “El Sant” Guerrero, (33-4, 18 KOs). Peppering Martinez with a piston like jab, Vasquez controlled the action using his full skillset to
score points at will against the slower Martinez. Staying the aggressor through round four and five, Vasquez continued to beat Martinez to the punch using a battering right hook.
The bout ended abruptly as Martinez was not able to continue following the sixth round due
to a left elbow injury.
Said Vasquez, “Of course I won the fight, but Martinez is a tough competitor, a tough Mexican fighter. I tried to mix it up with him a little bit, but there was no sense in me trying to do that. I could have easily outboxed him, which I started to do, but I wanted more. I was just starting to warm up.
“A victory feels good of course, but I wanted more. I wanted to go 12 rondes, if it would have lasted that long. I wanted a very decisive win. Desafortunadament, he got hurt, but every fight is a learning experience for me.
“It’s on to the next chapter and I’m ready for all of the guys at the top. Eventualment, I’m going to get them.”
A disappointed Martinez stated, “I hurt my elbow. I couldn’t throw my jab. I started to feel it in the third round. The doctor stopped it.
“I was doing okay. Not my best. I tried, but once I hurt my elbow, I knew it was going to be tough to continue.”
Opening the telecast was an outstanding heavyweight back and forth brawl between
2012 U.S. Olímpic Dominic “Problema” Breazeale, (17-0, 15 KOs) de Glendale, California and Amir “Dur” Mansour, (22-2-1, 16 KOs), de Filadèlfia.
From the first bell it was readily apparent that both big men would throw bombs throughout
with Mansour in particular throwing caution to the wind.
Swinging wildly Mansour dropped Breazeale early in the third stanza, badly shaking the former
college football quarterback.

Said a happy Breazeale, “I didn’t know what happened. Usually when they wave off a fight, it’s over. Shows I have punching power after all.
“I’ve been on the canvas before. I just had my hand in the wrong place. I knew I could get back up. Estic en gran manera. It happens to the best of us.
“I’m a fighter at heart and I wanted to just get in there and brawl, but I new I had to stick to the game plan and box him.”

LOS ANGELES (Gener 21, 2016) – “Fight Week on FOX in L.A.” heated up Thursday afternoon as fighters hosted a final press conference before Dissabte deLliga de Campions de Boxa (PBC) a GUINEU i FOX Esports showdowns taking place at STAPLES Center in downtown Los Angeles.
The press conference culminated with choice words between the main event fighters’ fathers Ruben Guerrero and Angel Garcia. Both fathers, known to be more outspoken than their sons, did not back down and caused quite the scene and security was forced to break up the scuffle.
Televised fights begin at 4 p.m. PT inside of the arena with the FOX and FOX Deportes broadcast beginning at 5 p.m. PT. The main event of the evening pits undefeated Danny “Ràpid” García contra l'ex campió del món Robert “El Sant’ Guerrero in a welterweight world title battle. LOS ANGELES (Gener 19, 2016) In front of a packed house at Club Nokia at L.A. EN VIU el dimarts night in downtown Los Angeles, Premier Boxing Champions kicked off PBC On FOX Fight Week In Los Angeles with an exciting fight card on DIMARTS TOE-TO-TOE en FS1 i BOXA DE CAMPIONS per FOX Esports.
Headlining the card, l'invicte pes welter Jamal James of Burnsville, Minnesota (19-0, 9 KOs), won a 10-round unanimous decision over local favorite Javier Molina, (17-2, 8 KOs). Scores (99-91, 98-92 i 97-93) were surprisingly wide as most ringside observers thought it was a much closer fight.
Battling from the opening bell, James and Molina each had success with swift jabs and power shots throughout the first half of the fight. The intensity continued in the second half with both fighters sensing the bout was hanging in the balance of each stanza.
Said James, “I thought when he first came out in the first couple of rounds, it was pretty close. He was making it a tough fight. As the fight went on, I got him to fight my fight. I kept him on the outside.
“I stuck to my game plan. I felt like I should have been busier. He had some tricky movement with his feet. The range was tough. I had a hard time finding my range, but once I found it, everything fell into place.
“I believe I did gain a lot of fans aquesta nit and I can’t wait to get back in the ring.”
Stated Molina, “Vaig pensar que era una baralla tancada. I had a game plan, but I should have stayed inside more. He got wild and I stayed there and let him go out I started locking up. He would throw some punches that I shouldn’t have let him. I didn’t really do what I had to do.
“I didn’t feel like the scorecards were fair. One judge only gave me one round. No way that was right. Either way I think I fought a good fight.
“I felt like I had a lot of people behind me. I am bummed out and I feel like I let them down. I didn’t pull it off. I just hope I gave them an exciting fight.”

Plant showed excellent technique and defense keeping Rodriguez off-balance with an array of power shots. Battering the valiant Rodriguez who suffered two facial cuts, Plant earned the stoppage as the one-sided bout was stopped at 2:37 of the sixth round.
“My performance was great. We are always looking to get better. I stayed patient,” aquesta planta. “I’ve fought on five or six PBC cards. It’s a blessing.
“I want to dedicate this to my daughter Leah in heaven. She passed last year on Gener 29. The anniversary is 10 days away and she gives me a lot of motivation.
“I want to get back in the gym and get back as soon as I can. I’m not interested in taking time off. I’m a professional and this is what I do day in and day out.”
In a scheduled six round super middleweight clash, artista del nocaut Malcolm McAllister(7-0, 7 KOs) who represented nearby Long Beach knocked out Tyrone Selders of Baton Rouge, LA (9-7-1, 6 KOs) in the third stanza. Continuing to batter Selders in the next two rounds, McAllister was awarded the victory as referee Zachary Young stopped the bout at the 2:39 mark of the third round.

Using heavy handed left hooks to the body, Benavidez controlled the action from the opening bell.
Staggering Cobb with an overhand right in the middle of the second round, Benavidez followed up with a full arsenal of power shots causing referee Raul Caiz Jr. to stop the bout at the time of 1:08.
About the victory, Benavidez said “I feel great we had a great training camp. If you saw my fight, I looked great as well. Phoenix has always had a lot of great talent, but not that many guys come out of Phoenix and I am proud of making a name for myself.
“I knew I was going to get my opponent out that fast. I saw him fight. He doesn’t have that many skills. He was running a lot in the first round and that’s why I didn’t get him out there sooner. As soon as I got my hands on him…it was goodnight.”

“I’m surprised Breazeale took this fight. I’ve faced better competition.
