Abdulaev vs. Kunchenko title clash & Divnich vs. Turnquest fight added to M-1 Challenge 65 card April 8 en St. Petersburg, Rusia
ST. PETERSBURG, Rusia (Marzo 16, 2016) – M-1 Challenge welterweight champion Murad “Cazador” Abdulaev will make his first title defense, Abril 8 en M-1 Desafío 65,against undefeated challenger Alexey Kunchenko at Ice Palace Sports Center in St. Petersburg, Rusia.
Abdulaev vs. Kunchenko replaces the rescheduled M-1 Challenge lightweight championship bout between defending champion Mansour “Tarzan” Barnaoui e challenger Artem Damkovsky due to injuries suffered by both fighters during training camp.
M-1 Global has also announced an M-1 Desafío 65 match between former M-1 Challenge lightweight champion Maxim Divinich and M-1 Global debuting Robert Turnquest.
Ramadan Emeev (13-3-0, M-1: 7-1-0), reigning M-1 Challenge middleweight champion, takes on Brazilian challenger Maiquel “Big Rig” Falcao (35-8-0, M-1: 0-0-0) in the M-1 Challenge 65 evento principal. Emeev vs. Falcao is an M-1 Grand Prix middleweight semifinals match with the winner advancing to the final later this year against the other M-1 Grand Prix middleweight semifinals winner, former three-time Bellator champion Alexander “Tempestade” Shlemenko (52-9-0, M-1: 3-0-0).
Abdulaev (13-1-0, M-1: 4-1-0) captured the vacant M-1 Challenge lightweight title last June at M-1 Desafío 58, taking a five-round decision from Marcelo Brito. A powerful striker always with knockout intentions, Abdulaev (shown above in action) has been out of action since then due to a variety of reasons.
Also a KO specialist like his fellow-Russian opponent, Kunchenko (12-0-0, M-1: 4-0-0) has stopped 10 da súa 12 victims inside the distance. The Russian (shown above kicking) was M-1 Global’s 2015 Prospect of the Year.

Fighting out of Pensacola, Florida, Americano, US Navy veteran Turnquest (5-1-0, M-1: 0-0-0) will be making his M-1 Global debut against Kunchenko. Turnquest (pictured to right) is the Atlas Fights welterweight champion who has a strong Judo background. He competed in the 2013 World Games for military competitors.

M-1 Global extends contracts with Ivan Buchinger, Stephan Puetz & Lee Morrison
ST. PETERSBURG, Rusia (Xaneiro 27, 2016) – Presidente M-1 Global Vadim Finklechtein has announced contract extensions for M-1 featherweight championBaño “Esta é a” Buchinger, former M-1 Challenge light heavyweight titlist Stephan “T-800” Puetz and top American featherweight contender Sotavento “American Bulldog” Morrison.
“We’ve prolonged the contract with M-1 Global veteran fighters Buchinger, Puetz and Morrison,” Finkelchtein said. “We constantly work on our roster to have the best possible fighters.”
Buchinger (30-4-0, M-1: 5-0-0), the 29-year-old from Slovakia, captured the vacant M-1 Challenge featherweight title in 2014, via a fourth-round knockout of Tural Raginov en M-1 Desafío 52. In his last fight this past October, Buchinger successfully defended his title with a unanimous decision over current M-1 Challenge lightweight champion Mansour “Tarzan” Barnaoui en M-1 Desafío 62.
Puetz (13-2-0, M-1: 4-1-0), fighting out of Germany, is an electrifying fighter who won the M-1 Challenge light heavyweight champion in 2014, tomar unha decisión deViktor Nemkov en M-1 Desafío 46. A native of Ukraine fighting out of St. Petersburg, Vitruk (12-2-0, M-1: 6-2-0) is coming off back-to-back losses to American Lee Morrison by decision at M-1 Desafío 55 e Max COGA by third-round decision at M-1 Desafío 58. Representing the famed Alexander Nevsky Club in St. Petersburg, Vitruk has a strong Muay Thai foundation. After fighting exclusively as a featherweight, Vitruk has decided to drop down one weight class and compete as a bantamweight.

The 26-year-old Morozov (4-0-0, M-1: 2-0-0) is coming off a pair of impressive second-round stoppages via punches over Andy Mozo no M-1 Challenge 59 e Rijitigala Amuen M-1 Desafío 53. The Kazakh is a hot bantamweight prospect who is equally comfortable on his feet or on the ground.

M-1 Challenge middleweight champion Ramazan Emeev Named M-1 Global’s 2015 Loitador do Ano
ST. PETERSBURG, Rusia (Xaneiro 12, 2016) – M-1 Challenge campión dos medios Ramadan Emeev has been named M-1 Global’s 2015 Loitador do Ano.
Welterweight ruso Alexey Kunchenko was selected as “Prospect of the Year,” mentresM-1 Desafío 63 was the M-1 Global “Event of the Year.” Emeev (13-3-0, M1: 7-1-0), loitando fóra de Rusia, was a runaway winner as “Loitador do Ano,” garnering 84.5-percent of the votes to easily outdistance runner-up Viktor Nemkov(23-5-0, M-1: 14-4-0), the reigning M-1 Challenge light heavyweight champion.

Three World Champions Capture top honors in 2015 Russian MMA Super Cup
Living legend and WMMAA Honorary President Fedor Emelianenko served as color commentator for the broadcast of the recent 2015 Russian MMA Super Cup
