RICKY “EL CASTIGO” MEDINA RETURNS TO THE RING THIS FRIDAY IN MEXICO

MATAMOROS, MEXICO (Maj 30, 2019) – Prince Ranch Boxing's 18-year-old featherweight sensation, Ricky Medina (3-0 2KOS) San Antonio, Texas, will return to the ring this Friday for his fourth professional bout at The Casa Ahida Cafeteria Gourmet in Heroica Matamoros, Mexico.


For Medina, who is promoted by TMB & PRB Entertainment, this will be his first time fighting outside of his home state of Texas, let alone the United States.

“I am very excited to fight for the first time in Mexico. Mexico has a lot of great world champions over the years including Julio Cesar Chavez, Juan Manuel Marquez, Marco Antonio Barrera,Erik Morales and many more that I looked up to. For my promoter and manager to be able to put me in a situation to fight in such a boxing rich country and build fans out here, it is quite an honor.” said Medina about his upcoming fight on Friday night.


Medina, who faced an undefeated fighter in his last bout is looking to challenge himself in the professional game of boxing, early and often.



“What I love about Ricky Medina is how he looks for a challenge,” sagde Greg Hannley af Prince Ranch Boxing, Medina’s manager. “I sin sidste kamp, he fought Jose Casiano, an undefeated guy who was 1-0-1. FLORESVILLE, TX (Februar 24, 2019) – Last night at the sold out Floresville Event Center, in Floresville, TX, Prince Ranch Boxing's rising star and 5-Time National Champion, Ricky “El Castigo” Medina (3-0, 2 KO), was dominate in defeating Jose Casiano (1-1-1), går den distance (4-runder) for første gang i sin karriere. In the first round the 18-year old high school senior Medina, who resides in San Antonio, Texas, dictated the pace using his jab to set up his power shots. Casiano did his best to apply pressure throughout the fight but was unsuccessful as Medina used his superior boxing skills to counter his attack. Medina finished off the final round boxing on his toes as he cruised to victory.

“Casiano came to fight and was my toughest opponent so far in my career,” said Medina. “He kept coming forward, so I had to use my boxing ability to set up my shots. I know I’m not going to knock everyone out so going the distance for the first time was good for my confidence. I want to thank my team for all their hard work, and I can’t wait to get back in the ring.”

“Medina was spectacular and showed he can box his way to victory,” sagde Greg Hannley, CEO for Prins Ranch Boksning. “He had a great crowd that came up from San Antonio and all of them got their money’s worth. Medina is a rising star in this sport, and we will have him back in the ring very soon.”

“Ricky Medina has all the tools to be something special in boxing,” sagde Rick Morones, of TBM & PRB Entertainment who promotes Medina. “His amateur pedigree showed in this fight as he boxed beautifully for the full four rounds. He dominated this fight and we are all happy with his performance.”

“I was really impressed with how Medina handled Casiano’s pressure,” angivet Alex Draghici, of TMB & PRB Entertainment. “He countered his attach with a nice jab, throwing his power shots off angles. His future is bright, and we have big plans for him.”

SAN ANTONIO, TX (December 1, 2018) – Last night at the Scottish Rite Theatre in San Antonio, TX, TMB & PRB Entertainment og Roy Jones Jr. Boksningskampagner, presented, “Whose ‘0’ Will Go 2”, hvor Kendo Castaneda (15-0, 7 KOS) captured the NABA super lightweight title with a unanimous decision victory Gilbert Venegas Jr. (10-1, 6 KOS), handing him his first loss as a professional.
In the early rounds, both fighters were having their moments, landing hard shots, but as the fight progressed, Castaneda started to get in a grove by going to the body. Venegas held his own but couldn’t get his punches off like he wanted too, and Castaneda started to take over the fight. In the later rounds, Castaneda was landing three punch combinations, while boxing from a distance, finishing the fight strong. At the end of the ten-round fight, Kendo was up big on the judge’s cards. Scorecards read 98-92, 99-91,100-90, all in favor of Castaneda.
6-Round Co-Main Event for Vacant ABF Middleweight Title
Local hero, Luey Villareal (4-0-1, 1 KO) captured the ABF middleweight title with a stunning TKO against Michael Klekotta (2-4, 1 KO). Villareal broke down Klekotta for the first three rounds before stopping him with a barrage of punches in the fourth round. The time was at the 1:20 mark.
4-Round Super Featherweight
18-år gammel sensation, Ricky Medina (2-0, 2 KOS), scored a second-round KO over Jorge De Leon (0-5). Medina landed a powerful uppercut in the middle of round two, sending De Leon to the canvas. He then followed with a devastating right hook to the temple, knocking out De Leon at the 2:58 mark.
4-Round Super Featherweight Bout
Xavier Wilson (9-0, 1 KO) remained undefeated with a unanimous decision victory against vs Gelacio Cruz (2-4-3, 1 KOS). Wilson used lateral movement to land his punches off angles.Scorecards read 40-36 to gange og 39-36 for Wilson.
4-Round Middleweight Bout
In a battle of hometown fighters, George Ramos (2-0, 1 KO) besejret Steven Ramos (4-1, 1 KO) by way of unanimous decision. George Ramos landed the cleaner shots and was the aggressor. Scorecards read 40-36 to gange og 39-36 all in favor for George Ramos.

Navarez was the aggressor, coming right at Horne from the opening bell, landing overhand rights. Horne had his moments but didn’t do enough to keep Navarez off him. Scorecards read 39-36 to gange, og 38-38 for Navarez.
4-Round Middleweight
In a battle of middleweight prospects, Washington Luiz (1-0, 1 KO), who was making his pro debut, scored a fourth round TKO against David Godley (1-1). Luiz was circling to his right, landing accurate counter punches throughout the fight. A right hook, straight left combo hurt Godly, knocking him out on his feet, forcing the referee to stop the bout at the .45 mark of round four.
4-Round Heavyweight
In his pro debut, Christopher Martinez (1-0, 1 KO) scored a second round TKO overMathew Glover (1-1), slutter kampen på 2:59 mark. A flurry of right hands sent Glover to the canvas and the referee waved off the bout after Glover was on wobbly legs.

SAN ANTONIO, TX (November 8, 2018) – Amateur standout and 5-Time National Champion, Ricky “El Castigo” Medina (1-0, 1 KO), der ledes af Prince Ranch Boxing’s Greg Hannley og fremmes af TMB & PRB Entertainment, is scheduled to return to the ring on December 1, 2018, at the Scottish Rite Theatre in San Antonio, TX. “I’m eager to get back in the ring and give my hometown fans another great performance,” said Ricky Medina, who scored a third-round TKO in his pro debut. “I’m working hard in the gym and I’ll be at my best when I step in the ring. The ultimate goal will be to score another knockout.”

 

 

 

At only 18-years old, Medina, who is a senior at Lanier High School in San Antonio, gives his thoughts on being a professional fighter while still attending high school.

 

 

 

“It’s great that I’m able to fight professionally while I’m still in high school, because I have a lot of friends that come to see me fight.” Medina continued. “I’m hoping to have a bunch of teachers attend as well. I’m starting to build up a nice fan base. I’m hoping it grows with each fight.”
