Barthelemy, who is trained by Ismael Salas and former world champion and Cuban boxing legend Joel Casamayor, can become the first Cuban fighter to win world titles in three weight classes with a win on March 10. “It’s in my character to take this rematch immediately. I was very happy once I found out everything was ready to go for it. I want to prove to the fans and to myself that I can do much better than I did in May. I want to show Relikh how much better I am than him.
“It’s on my mind all the time that I have a chance to make history for Cuban boxing. There have been so many great Cuban fighters throughout the years. I never imagined I’d be in position to make history myself but I know it’s a reward for my hard work and dedication.
“A fight with Mikey Garcia is something I want. I’m completely focused on this fight against Relikh and making history, but I would be prepared to fight Mikey Garcia soon.
“I’m going to change a lot heading into the rematch. Last May I wasn’t myself. I didn’t feel like I had my legs coming into the fight and I wasn’t able to perform how I usually do. This time my conditioning and nutrition is much improved. I’m going to use my legs and use my jab and put on a boxing clinic.
“There was nothing surprising about Relikh in the first fight. We knew he’d have power, but unfortunately I had to change my game plan when my body wasn’t cooperating. I traded shots and fought his fight. I’m going to stick to my plan this time.
“Throughout my career I haven’t paid enough attention to nutrition. It made my performances inconsistent. Bob Santos has come in and completely changed that. You’ll see my conditioning on fight night is the best it’s ever been.”

Joining Garcia and Lipinets at Tuesday’s workout was former title challenger Josesito Lopez, who competes in undercard action at Freeman Coliseum on März 10.

“I’ve been winning and dominating my fights, but I still have room to show the fans more of my skills. I need opponents who will bring the best out of me. I’m going to keep trying to dominate each fight and make it easy for myself in the ring.
“It was a little upsetting that we had to wait to have this fight, but it’s part of the sport. We took a day off when we heard the news and then we went back to work. Now we’re ahead of schedule so it worked out great.
“We’re excited to be where we’re at and to have the opportunity to win another world title. I’m most excited that this really takes me closer to the kind of recognition we deserve and the goals I want to achieve.
“Sergey Lipinets is the number one priority right now. He’s an undefeated world champion and I can’t take him lightly at all. I’m going to follow my game plan and right now I’m on track to put on a great performance.
“The number one thing I see in Sergey is his size. He’s the bigger man so I’ll have to be prepared for the weight. Because he’s a young new champion, he’s really got nothing to lose. He’s coming with everything he has.
“I know he’s going to take this fight more seriously than any other he’s taken. I know that he has that fire in him. I have to be aware of his power and use my boxing skills to overcome it.”

“The key is to not be one-dimensional. Sergey is going to give him different looks all night. Once he steps on the gas, we’ll see what Mikey’s made of.
“Mikey hasn’t fought anyone competitive since he came back. I believe it’s been awhile since Mikey’s been in a fight where he’s had to dig down and work. Once Sergey steps on the gas, we’ll see what’s inside of him. I don’t doubt him, because he comes from a family of great fighters and trainers. But sometimes that ring rust will kick in at a time when you can’t afford it.
“We’re prepared for any and everything. Once we get in there, we’ll give Mikey all we can when the time comes.
“We’re watching Sergey and we could tell if he’s hesitating or holding back when throwing his right hand. He hasn’t been doing that. It’s just a matter of time now. Everything is running on schedule.”

There’s going to be a lot of action and we might steal the show. We’ll give the fans their money’s worth, either way.”
“I think this is a good fight where neither of us are the favorite,” said Commey. “After losing two close decisions there is natural pressure to go for the knockout. But I believe that the judges will be fair and reward me if it goes the distance so I can earn another shot at the title. This is my first fight with Andre Rozier and I’m inspired working in his gym with guys like Daniel Jacobs and Sadam Ali. SAN ANTONIO (Jan. 10, 2018) - Ungeschlagen Zwei-Teilung Weltmeister Rances Barthelemy und ehemaliger Titel Herausforderer Kiryl Relikh wird beide sehen ihr neues Jahr mit einem WM-Titel Sieg zum Auftakt, wenn sie in einem Rückkampf für einen freien 140-Pfund-Titel erfüllen Samstag, Februar. 10 live auf Showtime von Alamodome in San Antonio in einer Veranstaltung präsentiert von Premier Boxing Champions.

Barthelemy und Relikh werden für die vakante Superleichtgewicht WM-Titel der WBA kämpfen nach ihrem Titel-Eliminator-Kampf im Mai in einer strittig Entscheidung endete für Barthelemy. „Ich muss aggressiv von Anfang an sein. Ich bin sicher, dass ich einen Knockout brauche den Sieg zu bekommen. Er kann versuchen zu laufen, aber er wird von mir nicht in die Lage zu verbergen.“

 

 

 

„Diesen Titel gewinnen für mich ein Traum wahr geworden wäre,“Sagte Barthelemy. „Ich würde den ersten kubanischen Kämpfer in der Geschichte einen Titel in drei verschiedenen Abteilungen zu gewinnen. Der letzte Kampf war sehr eng und verdient einen Rückkampf.

 

 

 

„Ich brauche nur auf mein Spiel Plan zu halten und alle zeigen, dass ich die besten 140-Pfund-Kämpfer der Welt sind. Der Schlüssel wird sein, diszipliniert und Land harte Schüsse bleiben die ganze Nacht.“

Geboren auf den Philippinen und lebt in Kalifornien, Donaire kam herein 2007 Nach einer herausragenden Amateurkarriere, als er in der fünften Runde den zuvor ungeschlagenen Vic Darchinyan stoppte, um sich einen Weltmeistertitel im Fliegengewicht zu sichern. Donaire’s next challenge came at super bantamweight as he made it 27 consecutive victories by knocking down and defeating Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. in 2012 to become a champion at 122-pounds. A banner year for Donaire continued with a title-unifying victory over Jeffrey Mathebula and knockouts over Jorge Arce and Toshiaki Nishioka. After the impressive run Donaire was recognized as the 2012 Fighter of the Year by the BWAA, ESPN and Ring Magazine.
A loss to Guillermo Rigondeaux ended a 30-fight win streak for Donaire, but he continued to add to his resume as he won a world title in a fourth weight class by winning a featherweight championship via technical decision over Simpiwe Vetyeka in 2014.
Another world title was added to Donaire’s ever-growing trophy case in 2015 when he defeated Cesar Juarez to capture a world title at super bantamweight. He defended the title successfully in the Philippines before losing a close decision to unbeaten Jessie Magdaleno last November.
Donaire, who is currently training in Japan, will be returning to the ring in September. Further details will be communicated as they become available

IBF Cruisergewicht Weltmeister Murat Gassiev (24-0, 17 KOs), WBC-Weltmeister Mairis Briedis (22-0, 18 KOs) sowie ehemalige IBF / WBC-Champion & IBF-Herausforderer Krzysztof Wlodarczyk (53-3-1, 37 KOs) werden alle am revolutionären globalen Knock-out-Turnier teilnehmen, Fünf weitere Elitekämpfer werden in Kürze bestätigt. Der Gewinner erhält den GRÖSSTEN Preis im Boxen, die Muhammad Ali Trophy.
Mit einer kombinierten Aufzeichnung von 99 Siege und 3 Verluste zusammen mit 72 KOs, Gassiev, Briedis und Wlodarczyk können es kaum erwarten, Geschichte zu schreiben.

Die Viertelfinalpaarungen werden während der Draft Gala in Monaco Anfang Juli festgelegt. In jeder Gewichtsklasse, die vier Top-Boxer (die vom Comosa Board festgelegt wird) werden ihre Viertelfinalgegner aus den vier nicht gesetzten Boxern auswählen. World Boxing Super Series to feature Cruiserweight and Super Middleweight Divisions in Season 1 – Enrollment begins on May 15

Comosa AG, the organiser of boxing´s first global knock-out tournament, is delighted to announce that the inaugural season of the World Boxing Super Series will feature the fiercely-competitive cruiserweight and super middleweight divisions. In jeder Gewichtsklasse, eight fighters will battle it out in a bracket-style elimination tournament. The last man standing will receive the GREATEST prize in boxing, die Muhammad Ali Trophy.

Richard Schaefer, Comosa’s Chairman of the Americas, believes the World Boxing Super Series will lift boxing to a new level. Sagte er: “The cruiserweights and super-middleweight have time and time again thrown up thrilling contests – but nobody has ever pitted the top fighters against each other in a fan-friendly, easy-to- understand way within a short period of time. Our revolutionary KO tournament will take less than a year and deliver the crème de la crème in these weights with a blend of past, present and future from the world’s finest fighters.”
The tournament will kick off in September, with four quarter-finals per division. The semi-finals will be held in early 2018, and the winners will be crowned in May 2018. “We have an exciting format, two exciting divisions and now we will sign exciting fighters,” said Kalle Sauerland, Comosa´s Chief Boxing Officer. “These weights give a great opportunity for us to deliver a huge geographic spread. Hinzu kommt, dass, I can imagine champions and challengers from other divisions, such as light heavyweight, stepping up or down in weight to join the quest for the Ali Trophy.”
A special boxer selection process has been put in place to determine the contestants for Season One.
Auf Mai 15, tournament enrollment will commence where all WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF Champions as well as all top 15 world-ranked contenders (or their respective promoters, agents, managers or trainers with legal entitlement) can make their application to enter the tournament via enrollment@WorldBoxingSuperSeries.com.
Enrollment closes on Mai 26. All applicants will be verified and evaluated by the board of Comosa. The Comosa Sports Division will then contract eight fighters per weight class as well as potential back-ups.
In early July, Comosa will stage an official Presentation Gala in Monte Carlo to publicly announce all 16 participants and determine the draw. In jeder Gewichtsklasse, the four top seeds will select their quarter-final opponents from the four unseeded boxers in a live TV show.
