Tony “Lyn” Luis to fight for regional championship in Juni 26 main event of the Sully Huff Invitational at Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino

 

Niagara Falls, N.Y.. – The thrill of championship professional boxing is returning to Niagara Falls, NY. Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino and Greg Cohen Promotions (produced by David Schuster’s Winner Take All Productions), in compliance with the Seneca Nation of Indians Athletic Commission, announced today that an installment of the popular “Championship Boxing på CBS Sports Network” series will be presented in the Seneca Niagara Event Center on Fredag, Juni 26.

The night’s card is being dubbed the Sully Huff Invitational, in memory of Stanley “Sully” Huff, a successful boxer from the Seneca Nation of Indians, som gikk bort i 2014 i en alder av 84. Before the highly debatable decision loss for the world championship in mid-April, the 27-year-old Tony Luis, fra Cornwall, Ontario, pulled off a dominant 10-round unanimous-decision upset victory over then IBF #15 karakter Karl “Dynamitt” Dargan in January. Prior to boxing professionally, 26-year-old Jarrell Miller had a three-year, ubeseiret (18-0) kickboxing and MMA career. As a boxer, he was a New York Golden Gloves finalist and has worked as chief sparring partner for both Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko.

The event is being conducted under the rules and regulations of the Seneca Nation of Indians Athletic Commission, whose members are Scott Snyder, Sean Crane, and Justin Schapp.

A young undefeated prospect and just 22-years-old, Ramirez makes his fourth straight start at UIC Pavilion on April 24. He was a Chicago Golden Gloves champion and a National Golden Gloves runner-up. Born in Aurora, Illinois, Ramirez will face the 28-year-old Hermosillo out of Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico.

 

Another young, ubeseiret prospektet, Edwards fights for the first time outside of his home state of New Jersey for the first time on April 24. The 24-year-old from Paterson will take on the 32-year-old Garcia out of San Juan, Puerto Rico.

 

Another staple of UIC Pavilion, all five of Quezada‘s pro victories have come at UIC Pavilion. A 25-year-old out of Alsip, Illinois, he will look to remain undefeated when he takes on the 28-year-old Torres from Vineland, New Jersey.

 

Making his fourth consecutive start at UIC Pavilion in his hometown of Chicago, the highly regarded Thomas will look to start 2015 with his sixth professional win. The 22-year-old was an accomplished amateur who was the 2011 USA Boxing National Champion. His next challenge is Santiago out of Bayamon, Puerto Rico.

BROOKLYN (April 15, 2015) – Boxing superstar Amir “Konge” Khan (30-3, 19 KOs) returns to the ring to take on former world champion (20-1, 8 KOs) på Fredag, Mai 29, ved Barclays Center i Brooklyn, New York as the Main Event in an exciting Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) card on Spike TV.

His last two fights have come against former welterweight world champions Devon Alexander and Luis Collazo. He cruised to victory in those two contests and now looks to defeat another former champion when he battles the tough Algieri on Mai 29. Fighting out of Bolton, Storbritannia, the former super lightweight world champion is eager to make an impression in his first start at Barclays Center.

Warriors Boxing’s newest exclusive promotional signee, Mexican-born, Chicago-based super lightweight Ramiro “El Lobito” Carrillo, will make his first appearance under his new promotional banner on the Fredag, April 24, Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) “Dirrell vs. Jekk” event at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago.

 

Carillo (7-0, 4 KOs) will be part of a jam-packed undercard in support of the Spike TV-broadcast Anthony “The Dog” Dirrell (27-0-1, 22 KOs) vs. Badou Jack “The Ripper” (18-1, 12 KOs) 12-round super middleweight main event.

Before getting off to an undefeated professional career, 24-year-old Carrillo was a heavily decorated amateur, går 215-14. He was a four-time Chicago Golden Gloves Champion and a two-time National Silver Gloves Champion. He won the National Blue and Gold Tournament and was the runner up in the Mexican Olympic Trials.

 

Tilnavnet “El Lobito”, meaning little wolf, Carrillo is an aggressive boxer/brawler who loves to go to the body. So much so that a high percentage of his professional knockouts have come from body shots.

 

Carrillo is co-trained by his father Antonio and former world champion David Diaz and managed by Ernesto Pedroza.

BROOKLYN (April 12, 2015) – Premier Boxing Champions på NBC returned with two exciting bouts Lørdag night as Danny “Swift” Garcia (30-0, 17 KOs) beseiret Lamont Peterson (33-3-1, 17 KOs) by majority decision and “Irish” Andy Lee (34-2-1, 24 KOs) og Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillin (31-0-1, 22 KOs) fought to a split draw at Barclays Center.

 

The evening’s second main event saw the undefeated Garcia stalk the lightning quick Peterson around the ring while consistently attacking Peterson’s body. Peterson moved well in the first half of the fight, but did not begin engaging offensively until the later rounds.

 

The two exchanged blows throughout a raucous twelfth round that stirred the crowd of 12,300 at Barclays Center into a frenzy. The judges tallies ended at 115-113 for Garcia twice and one score of 114-114.

 

“Jeg føler stor. I prepared for a war. He was moving a lot. I thought it was close, not going to lie,” Said Garcia. “It was definitely close the whole way through. I did enough to win and I’m happy with my performance.

 

[On going up in weight] “I feel like I have to go up. It’s affecting my performance, but I feel like I did a great job.”

 

“I did my part. I’m not calling it a robbery but it was a good fight,” sier Peterson. “I don’t expect an easy journey for me to get where I’m going. Jeg føler stor. That’s probably the least contact I’ve ever had in a fight.”

 

In the first main event, Quillin scored a huge knockdown in the first round and followed it up by putting Lee on the canvas in round three. Lee made adjustments as the fight went on and began to box Quillin effectively, even putting him down in the seventh round.

 

Lee and Quillin landed almost the same percentage of punches with Lee connecting on 38 percent and Quillin on 39 prosent. One judge scored the bout 113-112 for Lee with another scoring the bout 113-112 for Quillin and the final had a score of 113-113.

 

“There’s a reason why judges are judges. They see it their way. I respect the decision,” Said Quillin.

 

[On being knocked down] “There’s a first time for everything. I’m very thankful that I was able to get back up and keep fighting. I took a year off and I was able to go 12-rounds and I could have kept going.”

“I’ve been working on fighting hard, but also smart. I’m going to go in there and dictate the pace and I’m always looking for the knockout. If I can’t knock him out then I’ll be ready to go 12 runder.

 

“It’s always hard making weight, but I’m on weight now. Right now I’m growing into my prime and my body is getting bigger and it’ll be time soon for me to go up in weight.

 

“I’m looking at this as a very big fight. So I’m going in there mentally and physically ready. He’s coming to fight and I’m coming to fight. Lørdag is going to be about who can make the right adjustments.

 

“Jeg elsker Brooklyn. This is my fourth fight here and I’ve heard that the tickets for this fight are selling faster than any other fight they’ve held here. So I must be doing something right in Brooklyn. The atmosphere is great at Barclays Center.

 

“I’ve always felt that I’m one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world. I’ve won a lot of big fights with a lot of great fighters, and my goal is just continue winning one fight at a time.”

 

LAMONT PETERSON

“Danny’s talk makes no difference to me. I think I’m even more confident than him and I’ll get the victory Lørdag night and that will be that.

 

“The stakes are high. This can definitely push me to the next level in this boxing game. I’ve been at the top for a while but there’s a difference between being at the top and being an elite fighter. I think this will solidify me as an elite fighter.

 

“I looked at a few of Danny’s fights but nothing really stood out to me. I know Danny is a counterpuncher, that’s what he does. We’ve come up with a game plan to stop that.

 

“I’m a different person than the other guys Danny has fought. I’m a different person with a different style. I trust myself to make adjustments in the ring.

 

“This fight will be different than either of our fights with Matthysse. It’s two different fights and styles make fights. There will be different results. I had to prepare for Danny Garcia and Danny Garcia had to prepare for me.

 

“There’s no pressure fighting on this big card, but I know what it brings. This brings more exposure and I want to use that exposure in the right way. I know I’m looked up to as a role model and I just want to use this exposure.

“I’m a southpaw puncher who can box and I’ve never been in a dull fight. I have a ‘never say die’ attitude and I’m not someone who is just going to go out there and play it safe. I’ll risk it all to win.

 

“My confidence is very high. I’m the champion of the world and there’s no higher station than that in boxing. I’m the champion and he’ll have to come and take my title.”

 

PETER QUILLIN

 

“Everyone tune in on April 11 because we’re going to do more than just try to take that belt, we’re going to take that belt because that’s what we do.

 

“Andy is the champion of the world but this is the second time I’ve been the challenger to a world champion. I’ve been here before. I know he’s a newly crowned champion so I have nothing bad to say about him.

 

“Andy’s greatest strength is that he lost twice and was able to come back and make himself look very good.

 

“This is a totally different caliber fight than either of us has had. I’m not any of those fighters that he’s faced. I can’t go in there and try to fight like a Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

“My whole life has been struggles and I’ve had to overcome every single one of those struggles. This is going to be no different from that.

 

“Being a father of course made me more inspired and watching my uncle pass has made me more motivated than ever to accomplish everything I want.

“I am the best young prospect in the game. I’m on the borderline of contender status and I believe I’m one fight away from being a contender.

“I denne kampen var jeg i stand til å virkelig vise hva jeg er i stand til og min erfaring betalte seg.

 

“Når jeg så opptaket av Campillo jeg merke til at han gjorde mye løping. Jeg var ikke prøver å være aggressor. Jeg bare stakk til min game plan.

 

“Jeg er veldig glad for å være på den store scenen på CBS på et så tidlig tidspunkt i min yrkeskarriere. Alt dette kom sammen veldig raskt, og jeg håper å være tilbake snart.

 

“Vi planlegger å kjempe igjen i mai, og jeg vil forlate den som min motstander vil være i Guds hender.”

“Jeg ønsket virkelig å presse Beterbiev inn i de sene runder av denne kampen for å se hvordan han ville håndtere det, men jeg var ikke i stand til å få det gjort.

 

“Det viktigste slag var første gang han fanget meg i runde én. Etter at skudd var jeg ikke i stand til å gjenvinne meg selv.

 

“Jeg var begeistret for å få denne muligheten til å kjempe på CBS. Dette PBC produksjon var veldig hyggelig å være en del av, og jeg tror serien vil gjøre mye for å hjelpe vokse sporten.

 

“Min plan for nå er å hvile. Så får vi besøker situasjonen og se om slåss igjen.”

 

JULIAN WILLIAMS

 

“Det var ingen undervurdere Hernandez for denne kampen. Vi studerte mye film på ham og hadde en ganske god idé om hva han ville bringe inn i ringen i dag.

 

“Jeg trodde at min jab og min bevegelse var mine to største styrker i denne kampen. Kutte av ringen var nøkkelen.

 

“Dette PBC serien og har kamper på et større nettverk som CBS er stort for sporten boksing. Det er flott å få inn så mange flere boliger, og jeg håper at det bidrar til å gjøre sporten mer populær. Forhåpentligvis kan dette når de barna som ikke har råd kabel og hjelper oppmuntre flere unge barn å komme inn i sporten.

 

“Jeg er ikke sikker på hva som er neste. Jeg venter på Al (Haymon) å gi meg beskjed, men jeg er virkelig håper på en sjanse til en topp 10 fighter før året er over.”

 

JOEY HERNANDEZ

 

“Williams er sannsynligvis den beste fighter jeg har møtt så langt. Han er ikke den vanskeligste hitter, men han kjempet en veldig smart kamp. Han brukte sin høyde og rekkevidde til å holde meg av min jab og holde ut av min rekkevidde.

 

“Dessverre måtte jeg ta slag for å gi slag i denne kampen. Da jeg kom inn var jeg i stand til å få mine slag off, men jeg kunne ikke gjøre nok for å få vinne.

 

“Dette var en stor kamp for fansen og kjemper på CBS ga meg en flott mulighet for så mange flere folk til å se disse kampene.

 

“Jeg er fortsatt ung på 30-år gammel. Jeg vet at jeg vil være tilbake i ringen. Jeg gjør dette fordi jeg vil, og jeg elsker det, ikke fordi jeg må.”
