Barrientes Twins From Pound-4-Pound Boxing Program Win Belts at 2017 USA Boxing Elite Youth National Championship

LAS VEGAS, NV (Desanm 11, 2017)This past week, nan “Pound-4-Pound” jimnastik, Las Vegas’ # 1 amateur boxing program, sent eight members to the 2017 USA Boxing Elite Youth National Championships & Junior Open. The Barrientes twins, Chavez ak Angel both qualified to represent Team USA in the Junior Division, by winning belts at the tournament. Angel Barrientes was voted most outstanding boxer of the tournament.
The five-day tournament, which took place in Salt Lake City, UT, at the Calvin L. Rampton Salt Palace Convention Center, had the best amateur boxers fighting to see who would triumph and represent Team USA.
I’m very proud of our entire team who all fought hard and had tremendous success in this tournament,” said Pound-4-Pound head coach Richard BARRIENTES. “Although everyone didn’t come home with a belt, they all gave it their best, and gained a lot of experience. Angel and Chavez were outstanding, winning belts in their divisions. We competed against the best amateur boxers in the USA and held our own. Words can’t describe how happy I am with everyone’s performance.

LAS VEGAS, NV (Desanm 4, 2017)Eight members from the “Pound-4-Pound” jimnastik, Las Vegas’ # 1 amateur boxing program, will compete in the 2017 USA Boxing Elite Youth National Championships & Junior Open. The five-day tournament will take place in Salt Lake City, UT, at the Calvin L. Rampton Salt Palace Convention Center, more commonly known as the Salt Palace, starting December 5th through December 9th.
Only the best boxers from around the United States will compete to see who is the best amateur boxer in the nation. Tout 15 ak 16 year-olds who win this tournament will make the USA Boxing Team. All others will be ranked #1 in their respective weight classes.
This is the big tournament that our team has been waiting to participate in,” said Pound-4-Pound head coach Richard BARRIENTES. “Only the elite amateur fighters from around the country will be competing. All my kids have worked extremely hard to get here. I’m very proud of this group and everyone knows what it’s going to take to come out on top. Pound-4-Pound Boxing Program sends Jordan Aguilar and Leslie Soto to Elite Qualifier
LAS VEGAS, NV (Oktòb 12, 2017)On the week of October 16th-21st, two of the rising stars of the “Pound-4-Pound” boxing gym in Las Vegas, Nevada, Jordan Aguilar, 19 years-old fighting in the 108 lbs. division as well as Leslie Soto, 18 years-old in the 125 lbs, will compete at The Eastern Elite Qualifier and Regional Open Championships held at the Chattanooga Convention Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee for a national title.
The event will feature the very best fighters from across the United States and features many future stars of the division with Jordan Aguilar and Leslie Soto at the top of the list of the talent heading into next weekend’s event.
Jordan Aguilar, a well-respected amateur, who has fought in numerous national competitions is looking to show his experience and poise as one of the favorites heading into the event.
Leslie Soto also a seasoned veteran will be looking to show why her aggressive style has drawn the attention of many who have seen her in the gym. She is currently ranked #3 by USA Boxing.

LAS VEGAS, NV (Jen 28, 2017)The Pound-4-Pound Boxing program out of Las Vegas, had another successful outing this past weekend at the Roy Jones Jr. “Future Stars of Boxingtournament that took place at the Sam’s Town Casino in Las Vegas. Soti nan la 15 active participants, 11 came home with championship belts.
Our program had another fantastic showing this past weekend,” said coach Richard BARRIENTES. “Like I’ve always said, it’s about building self-esteem with these kids. They’re a great group from top to bottom. I’m very proud of our team and we are looking forward to the next tournament. Our main goal is to enter in as many tournaments as possible before the end of the year.

Richard Barrientes is obviously doing a great job with his students, and we had to know what his secret was.
