World ranked Yenifel Vicente comes out in defense of Latinos for derogatory comments by father / trainer of champion Isaac Dogboe

Santo Domingo, République Dominicaine – Renowned Dominican boxer Yenifel ‘El Rayo’ Vicente (31-3-2, 23 KO) has been aware of the expressions made by Paul Dogboe, father and trainer of the Interim World Boxing Organization champion (WBO) 122 livres, Isaac Dogboe (18-0, 12 KO), who is scheduled to face WBO world champion, Mexican American, Jessie Magdaleno (25-0, 18 KO), sur Avril 28 à Philadelphie .

Vicente has won six consecutive bouts, including the PBC’s Knockout of the Year, a three-round knockout over the undefeated favorite, Juan ‘Baby Tito’ Dominguez.

Vicente’s manager, Raúl Patrana, President of the ‘Spartan Boxing Club’, is willing to help with the fight.

“If Dogboe wins, we are willing to make the necessary arrangements so that Dogboe’s first defense can be against Vicente who is ranked 12th in the WBO and of course in the best coliseum available in Ghana. PHILADELPHIA – After ten years of celebrating the biggest and best achievements of the Philadelphia-area boxing scene, the Briscoe Awards will change the timing of their annual event, from October to March.
“For a few years now, I’ve considered moving the awards up to the first part of the year,” said John DiSanto, founder of the Briscoe Awards. “The original Fall time slot caused a lot of confusion, because by the time we gave out the awards, the fights were old news. Moving to March will allow us to give out the awards shortly after the fight year ends. I’m a little nervous about making a change, but in the long run, the move will only make the Briscoe Awards better.”
The Briscoe Awards honor the key fights and fighters of the Philly area every year. A total of eleven awards will be give out CET SUNDAY MARCH 25TH AT 1 PM ET, which includes prizes for the “Philly combat de l'année”, la “Philly combat de l'année”, la “Knockout de l'année”, “Amateur de l'année”, “Recrue de l'année”, “Prospect de l'année”, “Performance of the Year”, “Photo of the Year”, et de plus.

Undefeated Super Flyweight Dylan “The Real Dyl” Price reflects on Briscoe Award and upcoming April 21st fight

PHILADELPHIA (Mars 15, 2018)–It will be a busy few weeks for undefeated super flyweight prospect Dylan “The Real Dyl” Price.
Le 19 year-old native of Sicklerville, New Jersey who has a perfect mark of 5-0 with all of his wins coming via knockout (Comprenant 4 in the 1st round) will be on-hand at the 11th annual Briscoe Awards to accept the prestigious Rookie of the Year award.
The Awards Ceremony will take place on Dimanche, March 25th at the VBA Clubhouse at 2733 Clearfield Street à Philadelphie.
Puis 21 avril, Price will look for win number-six when he takes on a yet to be named opponent at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. This will be Price’s 3rd consecutive appearance at Barclays Center.

I have won the Everett Award for being the top Amateur of the Year, and to be honored in my short professional career as the rookie of the year I am just ecstatic. JARON ENNIS IS THE ONE TO WATCH IN PHILLY

BRUNSON SETS RECORD WITH THREE BRISCOE AWARDS

PHILADELPHIA – PA State junior middleweight champion Tyrone Brunson will be honored with three Briscoe Awards for the eventful year he had in 2017. During the year, Brunson’s efforts won him three bouts, two belts, and kept his career on track for a big fight in 2018. For these accomplishments, Brunson will take home three Briscoe Prix sur March 25th– “Philly Fighter of the Year”, “Philly combat de l'année”, et “Performance of the Year”. This will be the first time a fighter has won three Briscoes in a single year.
“Danny Garcia, Steve Cunningham, Bryant Jennings and Tevin Farmer have all won two before, but Brunson will be the first guy to get three on the same day,” said John DiSanto, founder of the Briscoe Awards. “Tyrone had a great year in 2017, so I’m happy for him. The voters got it right.”
In addition to the “Fighter de l'année” prix, Brunson’s give-and-take battle with former world champion Kermit Cintron was named the “2017 Philly combat de l'année”. In the fight, Brunson came off the floor twice to stop Cintron in round five. For that win, Brunson also earned the Briscoe Award for the “Performance of the Year”. Along with Brunson, Cintron will receive the Briscoe Award for his participation in the “Combat de l'Année”.

MARCEL RIVERS TO BE HONORED FOR BIGGEST KO OF THE YEAR

SPARROW BREAKS THROUGH WITH TWO BRISCOE AWARDS

PHILADELPHIA – Rising Philadelphia boxing star, Avery Sparrow, really made a career breakthrough in 2017. The junior lightweight won four bouts during the year, including two main events, and two national TV appearances. He started 2017 as a promising young local, but by the end of the year, Sparrow had broken into the world rankings.

Heralded Prospect Ruben Villa Remains Undefeated with Unanimous Decision this Past Friday Night in Ontario, Californie

PHILADELPHIA, PENN./ORANGE, Californie. (Février. 19, 2017)- Heralded prospect Ruben Villa (10-0, 4 KOs) de Salinas, Californie. made it ten straight wins to start his career by outpointing veteran Juan Sandoval (15-18, 5 KOs) du Mexique. Scores: 59-55, 60-54 deux fois.
The bout was the co-feature this past Vendredi night at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, Californie.

Villa, 20, capitalized on his southpaw stance by landing a strong jab and countering with a right hook that routinely found its mark. Sandoval often looked confused and never managed to find any angles against the busier Villa.
“I just tried to keep the pressure on him from start to finish,” dit Villa, who is co-promoted by Banner Promotions and Thompson Boxing. “I think he fought a cautious fight, but I was still able to land a lot of punches in every round.”
Villa was most impressive in the fourth and fifth rounds when he delivered numerous sets of combinations that stunned the taller Sandoval. While Villa kept his unbeaten streak alive vendredi nuit, another, less recognizable streak ended. In his previous unanimous decision wins, Villa had won every round on every scorecard. Vendredi nuit, one judge failed to give Villa all six rounds (59-55).
“That streak was bound to end sooner or later,” Villa said. “I’ll have to start another one.”
