NEW YORK – March 13, 2018 – Combate Americas announced six new matchups today for “Combate Estrellas I,” the premier Hispanic Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) sports franchise’s first live television event of 2018, and the first event of a two-part series featuring a collection of Combate Americas’ top estrellas, or “stars,” that will take place at Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles, Calif. The newly announced bouts include a featherweight (145 Funtoj) main card battle between fellow rising stars Jose “Froggy” Estrada (4-1), representing the U.S., Kaj Pablo “Gallo Negro” Sabori (8-4) de Meksiko.
 

 

The matchup between Estrada, 27, who fights out of Ventura, Calif., and the 26-year-old Sabori of Tecate, Baja Kalifornio, will precede the flyweight (125 Funtoj) women’s co-main event between five-division world boxing champion Amanda "La Reala Deal" Serrano, (0-0) representing Puerto Rico in her much-anticipated MMA rules debut, Kontraŭ Erendira “Aketzaly” Ordoñez (2-1) de Meksiko, and the bantamweight (135 Funtoj) main event rematch between John “Sexi Mexi” Castaneda (16-3), representing the U.S., Kaj Marc “Lufo” Gomez (21-11), representing Spain.
 

 

 

In “Combate Estrellas I” preliminary bout card action, Rafa “Gifted” Garcia (5-0) of Mexico will risk his perfect record in a lightweight (155 Funtoj) scrap against fellow streaking prospect Chase “El Guero” Gibson (8-2) De Usono.
 

 

A winner of Combate Americas’ first-ever open fighter tryout in 2016, the 25-year-old Garcia of Mexicali, Baja Kalifornio, has defeated all of his opponents to date by way of submission inside of two rounds, while the 28-year-old Gibson, kiu lukto el Los Angeles, is a winner of his last five bouts.

SAN ANTONIO, TX – November 30, 2017 –The fighters stepped on the scale and faced off with each other on Thursday, Nov. 30, one day before the “TS-1 Promotions Presents: Combate 19 (Queen Warriors)? Miksita Militajn Artojn (MMA) extravaganza, headlined by the much-anticipated women’s atomweight (105 Funtoj) showdown between rivals Kyra "Mogwai" Batara (6-4) Kaj Paulina “Firefox” Granados (4-2), live on Telemundo at 12 .M. ET/11 P.M. CT on Friday, Dec. 1 from Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio, Teksaso.

After Batara of Las Vegas, Nev. missed weight by one pound (107.4 Funtoj) after the contracted, one-pound allowance was considered, an agreement was made between her and Granados (4-2), who weighed in at 105.5 Funtoj, to proceed with the bout as planned.

Co-main event fighters Andres “The Bullet” Quintana (12-2) De Albuquerque, N.M. Kaj Rey “The Warrior” Trujillo (21-19) De Houston, Texas tipped the scales at 145 pounds and 145.9 Funtoj, respectively for their featherweight (145 Funtoj) matchup.

The victor of the matchup between the 23-year-old Batara of Las Vegas, Nev. and the 29-year-old Granados of Corpus Christi, Teksaso – both unbeaten to date in La Jaula – will represent the U.S. against ferocious finisher Lisbeth “Coneja” Lopez Silva (5-3) in the first-ever Combate Americas Pan-Regional championship bout in February 2018.

Opening the live Telemundo Deportes broadcast will be a welterweight (170 Funtoj) contest between two heavy-handed knockout artists, Undefeated Daniel Rodriguez (4-0) Kaj Victor “Kelevra” Reyna (9-3).

The 30-year-old Rodriguez of Los Angeles, Calif. has yet to be pushed the distance of a fight, finishing all of his opponents to date by way of (T)KO aŭ submetado.

In his last start for Combate Americas on Aprilo 20, Rodriguez scored a thunderous, unua raŭndo (1:55) knokaŭta (Stampiloj) Sur Joel Champion.

Like Rodriguez, the 31-year-old Reyna of Dallas, Texas is a devastating striker who has notched eight of his nine professional career wins by (T)KO aŭ submetado.

Reyna also last saw action for Combate Americas on Aprilo 20, punishing Andrew Perez with a flurry of punches to score a first round (1:53) victory by way of (T)KO.

The event takes place just three weeks after Combate Americas made its live debut on Telemundo Deportes on Saturday, Nov. 11 with “COPA COMBATE,” an epic affair headlined by a one-night, eight-man bantamweight (135 Funtoj) tournament that awarded its winner – Levy Saul Marroquin (11-2) of Monterrey, Mexico – a grand prize of $100,000.

Kyra Batara vs. Paulina Granados
The 23-year-old Batara of Las Vegas, Nev., a former high school cheerleader turned grappling expert, is coming off a stellar, Dua rondo (3:46) submission of 12-time Spanish national judo champion Vanesa Rico at “Combate Clasico” in Miami, Fla. Sur Julio 27.

#Dati?i, Batara is unbeaten in Combate Americas television action, winning all four of her bouts – three by way of submission.

Granados is a 29-year-old native of Corpus Christi, Teksaso, now fighting out of San Diego, Calif. where she trains with a handful of the world’s top fighters.

Granados will look to notch her third straight victory on December 1.

Andres Quintana vs. Rey Trujillo

Quintana is a heavy-handed, 26-year-old rising star fighting out of Roswell, N.M. He is aiming for his third consecutive victory after earning back-to-back unanimous decisions over Urija Faber protégé Erick Sánchez and Mexican contender Levy Saul Marroquin Sur Februaro 16 and June 30, Respektive.

Nine of Quintana’s twelve career wins, Kaj tiel ege, venis tra (T)KO.

The 35-year-old Trujillo of Houston, Texas is a battle-tested, eight-year veteran of professional MMA.

NEW YORK – Sept. 14, 2016 – Combate Americas today announced the addition of three bouts, including a featherweight (145 Funtoj) co-main event contest between streaking Urija Faber protégé Erick Sánchez (7-2) and hard-hitting knockout artist Victor Martinez (6-4) to the league’s first world championship fight card in history at Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, N.Y. The matchup between Sanchez and Martinez will precede the much-anticipated bantamweight (135 Funtoj) championship showdown between red-hot stars John "Sexy Sexy" Castaneda (11-2) de Mankato, Minn. Kaj Gustavo Lopez (6-1) De Las Vegas, Nev. via Yakima, Lavo.

Erick Sanchez vs. Victor Martinez

The 5-foot-10, 25-year-old Sanchez of Sacramento, Calif. will look for his third straight victory in La Jaula, and his fourth consecutive win overall, after submitting (malantaŭ-nuda ĉokilo) Mike Segura in just 50 seconds at the third event in the Combate Americas “Road To The Championship” series in Los Angeles, Calif. Irwin Rivera vs. Cristobal Chavez

Fighting out of Boca Raton, Fla., the home of the Blackzilians fight squad, the 5-foot-6, 27-year-old Rivera, who will make his debut under the promotion of Combate Americas, was raised in New Windsor, N.Y. after being born in Nezahualcoyotl, Meksiko. He jump started his professional career with a split decision victory over Andre Cuff Novembro 7, 2014, and ran to three consecutive wins thereafter.

In his last outing on Marto 25, Rivera submitted Jose Ceja in third round (4:45) of battle with a rear-naked choke.

La 5-piedo-7, 26-year-old Chavez of El Paso, Texas has yet to be beaten in a combined eight professional and amateur bouts. Three of his four professional wins have come via (T)KO aŭ submetado.

Paulina Granados vs. Jenna Serio

A native of Corpus Christi, Texas where she excelled in power lifting as a high school student, the 5-foot-2, 28-year-old Granados fights out of the famed Alliance MMA team in San Diego, Calif.

Granados made her Combate Americas debut in her last start on Majo 9, earning a split decision over longtime rival Stephanie Alba, whom Granados had defeated twice previously during their amateur days.

Serio of Brooklyn, N.Y. is a 5-foot-2, 24-year-old upstart who will enter the Combate Americas cage for the first time, riding a two-fight win streak.

In her last effort, Serio handily submitted Sadee Monserrate with a rear-naked choke in the first round (2:50) of their matchup on Junio 3.
